Custom and private servers.

Hello,lately i have been thinking about one option wich would make everybody happy,(at least a bucnch of us),what about to give the option to the players to set up its own private and customized server, a lot of features could be enabled or disabled in a new options panel such as.

 

 

Basic panel

 

Police: on-off.

Police hostility level: high-medium-low (we should discuss about the parameters here,only works when police mode is on).

Map: on -off

GPS: on -off

Player id's : on-off

Weapons and veh.dat list: Server host will have the option to ban certain weapons and vehicles ,like miniguns and tanks ,hydras,etc.

 

(the basic panel could have a lot of more options ,but right now i forgot most of the ideas i had.. )

 

-I know, this could be a problem for rockstar , everyone would want their own server,that might be a problem with the current system where you get everything for free, and everybody is takin' everything for granted,but.. R* could implement the option like EA did in bf3 to rent your own server,something like i dunno 10-20-25bucks a month, i wouldn't mind to pay ..

 

Roleplay and civilian life (legal jobs)

 

Theres a lot of players including myslef that we love to play gta mp games roleplaying a character, some of us even play in communitites where we do have character history evolving inside a "server/comunity" history,thats great and its pretty cool to play this way in GTA:OL however,current server features makes very diffcult to thrive for this kind of gameplay,(police is a pain in the ass,A.C.A.B,lol).So imagine that in your own rented server you could enable players to be a police or a ems serviceman,firefighter,taxi drver,train driver,etc.

 

 

Police players: will have the option to wear the police uniform (we know the model is there R*),police players doesnt get wanted level if police mode is on.and the use the tazer ,when a player with a wanted level is tazed it respawns inside the prison. Inside the prison only passive mode is enabled)

1 star : 5 mins

2 stars : 10 mins.

3 stars: 15 mins.

4 stars: 20 mins

5 stars: 25 mins.

6 starts 30 mins.

 

Taxi drivers: Players will have the option to take a taxi in the D.cab company building and pick up NPC's on the streets, fares will depend on the player level and distance, (as previous gta games)

 

Bus drivers: Ability to drive buses tru checkpoints with time limit , each busstop in L.S will have a checkpoint and a timer,once crossed cp1 you'll have 2 mins to get to cp2 and so on.. picking up players who need a lift in the bus stops, each stop will give money to the driver.(300-500$ maybe).

 

Basicly all of you who are familiar with the rp scripts for samp or mta know about what im talking about,i think R+ wouldnt do this for us for free, but maybe with the private server options , who knows.. they say they listen to us..

How many of you guys would like to see something like this?

yeah lol i completly forgot about the creator, i guess it wont be difficult to code the ability for the server owner to add a certain ammount of objects too, that would be awsome man.good one!

Your idea is great (though fix the formatting), but the police options are a no go. The potential to grind money and grab vehicles without any police interference (robberies, trucks, etc) is too exploitable.

Good point,but if we are talking about enabling this option for private servers only, im sure it won't be hard for the sever owners to regulate who is cop and who is not,perhaps you could have the option to enable disable gruppe sechs trucks to spawn or not, etc..if R* creates the option panel everything else would be regulated by the server owners.

No the point is, if police are off then you have to turn off all methods of making money. It will be too exploitable other wise.

As far as i know in free roam you can only get money by: selling cars in l.s customs or simeon( that hasnt to be changed),shop robberies (2.5ks for shop isnt a big deal ,even if you rob all the stores in the map the loot won't be more than 100k's, it will take you at least 20 mins to do it, RR or coveted are more exploitables than this),now im lost i can't see what you trying to tell me.

Just because there are more efficient methods, does not mean it is not exploitable. The point still stands. If cops are off, so must be the ability to make money.

 

Don't forget one can unlock tattoos and such from robberies as well, making this an easy exploit.

The other thing I would like to see is servers or sessions dedicated to a community. For instance, you can search for a specific session that's bookmarked for your crew or community.

 

Having a specific gta online session dedicated to the gtaforums.com. You search it in the pause menu and you join only other people that have searched for that specific session. Everyone on the forums would a always be playing together. And gtaforums.com could advertise their gta online server so people are more inclined to use it.

Well i cant see any reason why we can 't get the option to disable or make it automatic,if you turn off the cops then all the money making methods are off too..my main point of having the option to turn off the police wasnt to have the oportunity to exploit the game money system, but i get you .

It can be useful for the ppl who wanrts to set up a stunt server with insane ramps etc..for those who want to roleplay police will be ON anyways.

 

the idea behind all of this is giving more freedom to the players to enjoy the full potential that south san andreas has,but you are right , there is always the retard that will use and will look for all possible bugs and failures in the system to cheat,exploit, etc.. but im sure its doable, at least i wanna think it is..

Start any mission from gerald and simply don't do it. You can run around destroying things all you want and not have to worry about the cops. Rockstar shouldn't have to cater to the small group of individuals who simply can't play the game. It would take away development time that could be better used on improving and fixing the game.

I agree with you of course. I usually always support ideas that allow more customisation in GTA:O. I just want to make sure nothing is overpowered. The rest of your idea is perfect however.

How to join Custom Free Modes?Add it as a game mode like Deathmatch from the phone and have a preference for PvP or not before joining.

This doesnt match with the whole economy Rockstar has set up but it was damn good fun in IV and its wasted potential for GTAO.

a cops off lobby would be nothing but a huge deathmatch. no armored trucks, no HPV, no simeon cars, stores wont give you money if you rob them and NPC wont drop money if you kill them, no way of making profit.

 

cops off lobby should be a place you enter only to have battles and stuff like that.

This frozen account would then be put on a different server with setting options, much like the OP stated. You still have your apartment, cars, weapons, etc. Nothing you do on this 'frozen' server would affect what you do on the main servers. Hopefully this made sense.

 

As I was writing this, I realized a small flaw with the usage of ammo, but a server option for infinite ammo could be implemented.

 

Servers like this would be for fun between friends so having options like cops off, not paying for insurance, infinite ammo, etc would be really useful and not considered broken since its in a sort of private lobby.

to be honest, I might enjoy a pvp=off and police=on mode even more...

 

killing these pricks tops the frustration they give you when interfering with your pvps

 

 

anyway: police = off means no armored trucks, no crates, no simeon cars and all stores (that you can rob) closed, I think that would be fair

People want private/custom servers, yet I don't see anyone willing to buy/rent their own...

...and i don't see this happening, except possibly a PC version if/when released.

Rockstar built this whole online multiplayer world with a set number of goals and objectives robbing, contracts, races, dm etc., now, it has evolved into so much more, role playing communities and racing leagues are growing in popularity. The only way to achieve this though would be to create a deathmatch like environment and editor that is free roam centric.
