Are chrome adders really that big of a problem?

Forgive me for not playing enough GTA Online or even playing any GTA Online, seeing as I've been working on source projects and playing single player. However, I've been hearing a lot about chrome adders around the forums and how big of a problem they are. Are they really that big of a problem or is it exaggerated? Who started the chrome adder craze? Why is it such a big deal?

Its not just the chadder. its every horrid looking car. stupid paintjobs, lowrider/muscle rims on modern cars. white walls on everything. theyre all hideous

1st month of the game.. Squeakers cheated and yolo'd. Thats not much of craze but more of a bowel movement.

I just think the whole chrome thing looks particularly tacky in GTAO. It looks like someone put a chrome sticker on the car. The other issue is that those who are in chrome Adders have usually taken it to another level of tacky with dollar sign rims.

 

It's symptomatic of the larger problem: for some reason, players seem to have this fascination with making their cars as loud and garish and grossly neon as possible. Rarely do I ever see people who have made their cars sleek or sophisticated. It's usually some degree of neon vomit or chrome.

Personally I'm seeing a lot more vandalised turismos.Lime green,purple secondary and blue/yellow dollar rims are the most common.Chrome is horrible and tacky but not as bad as some colours people use.

To be fair though, a good use for chrome is for the secondary color on a convertible Manana. It paints around the windshield, to give it a "chrome finish" to match the rest of the car. Looks damn good.

Other then that, chrome cars are basically targets for my muggers, since not only do they get robbed of money, they get carjacked too! Good riddance!

I once had someone mugged from his chrome Adder near a swimming pool near Madrazo's place. He must have crashed his car over a fence. He was just sitting there in his car. So i watch him on TV, send a mugger. Mugger jacks him out, drives off with the car into the swimming pool. And then shot the mugger but he lost his Adder. After that i got some hate messages.
