2x $ standard?

Hey guys; since Rockstar gave us x2 rp and x2 dollar money weekend, the cashcards are not worth their money anymore.

I personally think Rockstar did this for two reasons. For the next update, but also to see if the money is balanced, which it really isn't.

Rockstar knows that the money needs to be rebalanced.

My guess is tthey will make these changes:

- double $ standard on jobs, including missions.

- Prices of warstock (I.E. the tank and buzzard) will be twice their price

- Impound will be 10x as expensive (still cheap)

- insurance will be 4-10x as expensive.

I don't think Rockstar wants to nerf the rp, but the money they want to do.

Personally I would pay 20$ for 2.5 milion.

But 1.25 is way too low.

You may call me stupid or crazy; but I really think Rockstar wants to nerf the pay outs. This also means we can expect a whole lot of expensive items.

Please only serious answers and do you think this is a good idea for Rockstar, and do you see them do it?

What do you think? Let me know :-).

10x as expensive? 125k for an Adder? Thats completely illogical.

The cash boost was given to 'revitalize' the game, possibly alluding to the high prices in the HL update.

10x the insurance is ridiculous. $2500 to get my car out of a broken system? Yeahh, nahh

Make insurance more? 4-10x more? So I can get my car destroyed by a tank and then have to pay $90 000 for it? Where do I sign on?

Its not just another cashcard thread.

If a thread features partially cashcards, it is not just "another cashcard" thread.

When impound is 2500 it is still super cheap.

In regards to the insurance; thats why I said 4 to 10. 4 times would be 50.000 for an adder.

It would make insurance more like the real world too.

Dude, the system is fine as it is.

These x2 RP/GTA$ events are just a way to get interest back up...just like the ol' MP3 & RDR x2-x3 XP boost events.

There aren't any other reasons other than that. Generate interest...that's all.

Yeah could be true. But I still hope they at least nerf the lower payed missions into higher pay outs.

Ps: thanks for giving a serious comment with some explanation. Better than your first comment xD

True this. Got everyone playing for hours at no cost to them (R*). Away from other games. Everyone is now a little more excited about the new DLC. What to spend their new wealth on. That's all it was. Keeps the cycle going for another few weeks. Edited by Nomad0202

They gave us 2x RP and cash to create an example of how they aren't cash card pushers.

Meanwhile, many things in GTA Online are designed to make spending money easy, and earning money a chore.

Of course they are going to throw us a few bones to keep us racing around the greyhound track. But the bigger picture reveals their intentions.

I don't blame Rockstar for their choices. It's just unfortunate that so many blind followers (with cashkerds memes at the ready on their clipboard) can't take a step back and see why the game is designed as it is.

I can't comment of cash cards value for irl cash, adjustments, that could happen at anytime, but all your other theory is just random and there is no fact or indication from the games updates or whatever notices they have provided us that the game will become more expensive............. and I can assure you that tanks are never gonna be made more expensive than it is right now, as that will hurt all new players and help all the veteran players of the game (and R* wants new players to join as they are probably the highest spenders on cash cards ...)

Goddamnit Xyn, I thought I told you to stop wondering about this stuff... it only invites it to visit upon us... :miranda:

There is no conspiracy here folks. It isn't the first time R* has doubled payouts on jobs and it probably won't be the last. Enjoy it while it's available, get on with it when it isn't.

the idea is quite simple, like xyn pointed out the double rp/cash weekend attracts all the gamers that had stopped playing since the business update, and also more importantly it creates an indirect urge to purchase cash cards for most players (because if you get to earn a lot of cash over the weekend and you just fall short to purchase all those new items from the HL update, the player might feel more tempted to spend 2-20 irl $$ for those cash cards. But if people weren't prepared for the possible super expensive HL update and prices were way to high for an average player to save up for, he might feel he is being forced into purchasing cash cards and might wipe his hands off this game, and the greedy intentions of R* . I have never purchased a cash card but if I ever needed to spend an additional $20 buck irl, to get an item i can't afford I probably won't even think twice of spending that money, but if I have to spend like $129 or more of irl cash in order to get what I want from the game, I'd feel a little cheated and might even get put off the game, due to the unfair and greedy behaviour of R*

OK chicken little, explain to me why R* had to double payments to figure this out?

Maybe, they did it for the reason they posted on the news release (novel)

"Beef up your bank balance and boost your notoriety in Grand Theft Auto Online this weekend to prepare for the new apartments, lavish cars and amenities coming in the High Life Update coming this month."

Well... payments aren't very logicals... they must take in acount time/dificulty on misions when setting the payment. Everybody knows this so... I won't be surprised if RR gets 5000$ or less in the future...

But x2 event has nothing to do with nerfing. It's just a promotion, like lots of games do sometimes.

Hmm I guess you are probably right. I Let my sleepy thoughts take over.

Ot: I think it was more a suggestion what I wanted to say.

I myself would think of it as a logical step, mainly because the gta online economy is kinda broken at this moment.

I thought these solutions would make sense to do for R*. I should have taken a different approach, by calling it a suggestion in stead of a question.

It's as simple as to re-attract their customers attention to the game.

Like others have said it was R*'s way of bringing back gamers who had maybe stopped playing

for a period to get cash for the upcoming High Life update and will probably happen at specific

times in the games continuing life, best to enjoy them when they happen.

Buying a cash card middle of the month. Thinking maybe either a $56 card or $100 card.

If rockstar wanted to sell cash cards, open the casino or horse track.

It was just to get people playing again and it was a massive success. I've never seen it so busy or so easy to find players for a race you've made. Normally no one ever joins.

I got back to playing briefly thanks to the 2x payouts, and i'd continue to do so if it remained that way. But it's not, so I'm not.

Was fun to play again briefly... I'll play again when the updates arrive, but other than that, I have no real interest anymore. GTA has had it's day. Maybe back when it was on PC and moddable. Nowadays modding the game and bringing cool cars into the game gets you banned. f*ck that.

It's called PR. They do these events to attract customers attention. I seriously doubt they were performing an experiment on the in-game economy.

The conspiracy theorist inside me was thinking that the 2x $ and rp was used as a test motivated by R* wanting to re-balance the payouts.

The realist in me thinks they were just feeling generous/wanted a spike in the people playing, like why most games have double xp/$$$ events.

Its because of the upcoming update but I'm sure the cars in it will be ridiculously expensive and everyone will be broke within a hour of it coming out
