Targeting Mode?

I have been playing Online recent and noticed that I can't lock on to players. I went to the settings tab and scrolled to Targeting Mode but its grey and it doesn't let me change Free Aim. Any ideas why?

You have to change it in single player :)

You get placed into servers depending on your targeting mode, so you play with others with the same preference.

Go back to SP, change it to the one you want then join online again

You have to switch in single player there is

Free Aim - No lock on what so ever

Traditional GTA - Locks on initially but does not follow target

Auto Aim - Locks on target and follows it

Free Aim - No lock on what so ever

Traditional GTA - Locks on initially but does not follow target, can switch between multiple targets with scrolling left and right

Assisted aiming-Locks on when the look around camera is relatively close to the target, doesnt follow target too but has to re-aim to acquire new targets.

fixed

Unless there's a legitimate reason why you can't change the targeting mode online, it's utterly stupid how you have to change it in single player.

Well lets say if you are in a free aim free roam lobby and then you change your targeting mode so AA during the session, then you are going to have a clear advantage over everyone else. I dont mind going back to SP to change it as it doesn't take that long to do so it's only a minute job.

Well if that's what you think, we could just change it in free-roam and when we do, it should give us an alert where we leave the session and join back, exactly like joining a crew during a session.
