Sports Classics Owners: Mods Or Stock?

I'm curious to know if those of you that own sports classics like the Z-Type, Stinger etc will buy mods to increase performance or leave them stock to preserve the "classic" feel of the car.

Personally I own a Stinger GT and have done all the performance mods EXCEPT turbo because the hiss just doesn't sound right on an already good sounding engine.

What do you think?

Yeah I'm gonna put all mods except turbo on my Monroe. The EMS mods barely change the sound.

Considering I use mine for races, I damn well better have it fully upgraded otherwise I'm creating a disadvantage for myself. An unnecessary one at that.

Now I'm partially on board with you though. In a different sense. My Monroe does not have xenons.

Agreed and I do exactly the same. :D

I tend to keep the wheels stock, unless there's identical rims for purchase. I got stock wheels on my Z-Type and Roosevelt. I had custom rims on my Stinger, Stinger GT and Monroe when I owned them though.

i just assumed if you buy a car you upgrade it 100% upon first drive.

I have a turbo on my Roosevelt, but I'm thinking about taking it off because the sound of it ruins the authenticity of the car. Other than that, I have all other performance upgrades, BP tires and armouring but those don't really change the sound or feel of the car so I'm definitely keeping those. I've changed the paint and equipped the newer white license plate, but I left the rims, suspension, lights colour, horn, and window tint unchanged. Edit: I left the tire smoke colour stock too. I never change it on any car, so I forgot about that.

I hear you OP - part of me cringed when I put turbo on my Stinger GT ..but I race a lot & only have 1 Classic in my garage. I got sick of getting caned by stock Z-types in races so added turbo. Every hiss always makes me question that decision!

I go without the turbo if the car has no exposed supercharger. I add one if it does. Would much prefer to be able to spend another 50g on NA engine mods to get the same performance without the dodgy sound.

I only add xenon lights on cars I race or do missions in too because I hate those lights.

Came in here to say something and I see the OP has mirrored my preferences.

Everything but Turbo is what I do. Hate the sound it makes with Classics.

I'll mod it fully on the inside, just no xenons. They ruin the feel of the car

Keep wheels, lights and horn stock, but I still tint the windows. BP tires and fully modded, save for the turbo for engine sound. Also tend to use classic paint jobs , chrome classics look rediculous.

Xenons are just ugly in general IMO. I don't think I have them on any car.

My Peyote, Monroe, and Tornado all have full performance mods. I don't care about how the car sounds (I hardly have game audio high anyways, as I am either talking to people or listening to music) but I would rather have slightly better performance than be annoyed with the turbo sounds,

It depends on which car(s). For my Monroe, I completely murdered it and gave it the "sporty" performance, yet left part of the classic look to it. Most cars in this class should be kept stock though; if anything, a hint of sport.

Most of the cars caregories handles in a similar way.

According to my experience, putting turbo on some cars such as Feltzer, Stinger GT and Dominator will give them an excessive amount of torque, resulting in alot of spinning and fishtailing.

I've fully upgraded my Tornado. When I'm able to get another garage I'm also going to get a Z-Type as well, and will fully upgrade it for racing too.

I gave my monroe that vintage turbo sound, along with the vintage chrome paint job.

Regardless of the class of car, I use all the performance mods, but selectively apply, based on the car;

Tire & wheel upgrades

Window tints

xenon lights

body mods

Is this The Guy?

Stock except for performance upgrades, armor, and bulletproof tires. White walls when I feel like it.

No turbo.

No blue lights

No window tint (Except for the Roosevelt, I like to look at it as a mobster limo so I put limo tint)

Fully upgraded Monroe here. Clasics aren't used as often as I would like so... when there's a chance to race them I like to be competitive. I don't give a s**t if it sounds better without a turbo.

Maybe I get a Stinger when second garage avaliable. (Already have one in solo mode).

I don't know why clasics are so underused. They're fun. And cool. Give them a try! You won't regret.

Have a Roosevelt and a Monroe, both have turbo. Might sound strange but I don't care, I want to be able to DRIVE them.

Stock, except for custom colors and rims, and maybe spoilers.

Turbo sounds wrong on classics. It's like putting modern rims on them (which sadly is common). I don't even have turbo on my modern cars since I like to hear the engine sounds. If you have all transmission and engine upgrades it doesn't make a difference anyway.
