Buying max ammo is a scam right?

Noticed this before but really paid closer attention last night that buying max ammo is a joke. I got max ammo, used only my carbine rifle in the mission,finish the mission, next mission loads and Its showing dollar amounts for every weapon to buy ammo for. Even buying ammo in ammunation was doing this.

Am i crazy or did I miss the memo on this happening?

I bet its cos your shooting skill increased duringnthe mission and thus the amount of ammo you can carry increases.

 

If anythin max ammo is cheaper. Cos if you fire 3 rounds for a sniper rifle it cost like 20quid to max ammo bout a hundred to buy a.clip of sniper ammo

I wouldn't do it personally. I never buy ammo. I only use free ammo that I pick up from casualties. Saves money.

Just putting this out there in case you don't know - the rounds you buy for the Carbine rifle are the same for all the other rifles in that class. So if you max out your ammo for the Carbine, you're maxing out the ammo for all of them. Then after you fire a few rounds, the ammo count goes down for the Assault rifle, Carbine rifle, Advanced rifle, and Special Carbine.

 

Are you saying that after buying max ammo and only using your Carbine rifle you are prompted to buy ammo for handguns and SMGs? Or just the assault rifles?

I never understood why so many people are against max ammo? maxed out all my guns as soon as could. Money hasn't been a thing since November, so might as well eh?

Max ammo isn't a scam but like everything else in this game I have had it glitch. I actually haven't been able to buy grenade launcher rounds for about a week now. Well, I can buy them but I don't actually get any. I've stopped using buy max ammo the past week because it is charging me for all grenade launcher rounds and not giving me any.

Is your shooting skill maxed out?

 

If not, it increases as you shoot things, so you'll be able to carry more and more ammo. It's fine to max out weapons if you have the extra cash, just make sure you don't go firing RPGs everywhere just 'cause.

I do the same. It usually only costs a couple hundred $ after one rooftop rumble to max my ammo. I usually use the combat mg.

I maxed my ammo when I was stupidly rich and have kept it that way. Costs very little normally.

Some weapons share the same ammo - for example, the carbine and the assault rifle but you only have to top up on one to get ammo for both.

No, it works fine for me. I use buy all ammo at the start of every job, and I only get charged for the ammo I used. But then, my shooting was already maxed out by the time the max ammo option came out, so it may be what others are saying and your ammo is increasing due to your skills going up.

I buy max ammo all the time but I have noticed that ammo is more expensive in the mission then it is if you go to ammunation

I just go to ammunation when my ammo is low (under 1000 or so) and just buy full ammo

No, believe it or not the first time you max out your ammo it costs about that much (sometimes more, sometimes less, depends on how much ammo you've already purchased). After the first time, it's way cheap to do it at the start of each job. I don't remember which thread, but I remember that somebody here figured it out once how much it would cost for all the ammo, and the answer they came up with pretty closely matched the amount for buying max ammo (like a hundred grand or so). So, yeah. Moral of the story, ammo is kind of expensive. But once you load up that first time, it's not so bad.

Always max out my ammo before jobs, but I noticed with the combat mg you can buy one clip of 200 rounds for $277, but the full ammo option charges you the regular MG rate which is $150 for 100 rounds ($300 for 200 instead of $277), so it's slightly cheaper to buy ammo just for combat MG first. I noticed stickys are cheaper thru this option than at ammunation though

I suppose it was the shooting skill, I maxed it out last night but dont think i played much after that, I suppose ill have to check it now that its maxed. It was for all weapons aside from explosives that i had to buy ammo for,even the ones i didnt use. So i only used my rifle but shotgun,pistol etc showed up. So every little bit of shooting skill adds to ammo carried? I thought that was based on overall rank. Thanks for helping me understand it.

Same here. Only time I go to Ammunation is when new guns come out, or if I need a new gas can. Otherwise I steer clear of the area. I always buy my ammo pre-mission, and most of the time it's under 400 bucks.

^ this tc if you shooting stat isn't maxed out yet sometimes after mission it goes up and you current max ammo limit goes up. the only ammo that isn't worth buying in the before the mission, dm, ect is stickies there cheaper to buy at ammunation if you have the 5% discount from getting so many commends
