Four Different Strategies for Rooftop Rumble

Here are 4 strategies for completing "Rooftop Rumble." Choose your favorite. I think they all take about the same time. "Pistolwhip" is my favorite but "Rambo" was the fastest. Turn audio off my voice annoys even me:)

 

 

1. Pistolwhip Method - Run into garage and slap them with your pistol by pressing circle; they shouldn't react if you don't fire a gun or aim at them; knives etc. won't work

 

 

 

 

 

 

2. Dewbauchee Method - use a bulletproof car (Rapid GT or Carbonizzare) to drive directly into garage and shoot them from the seat of your car (perfect for that ad you do everything in your car)

 

 

 

 

 

 

3. Rambo Method - assault shotgun everyone

 

 

 

 

 

 

4. Demolition Method - fire rockets or grenades at the two clusters of goons then shoot the stragglers

Who cares? Who really needs strategy lessons for what might be the easiest mission in the entire game?

Jump up on the bush. Shot a grenade at car on the left and breakout your LMG and kill everyone on the right. Jump down behind the fleet wood and kill the three guarding the entrance . I always wait for the 3 or 4 suvs that chase you. And enjoy my ride to the finish .

I just walk up to the light post call a pick up helicopter, go in carbine blazing, usually end up killing them all and grabbing the documents before the helicopter even lands, shoot the pilot and am on my way, wash repeat

I park up at the rear, stickybomb the rear Granger, Fugitive and Gauntlet, get the rest out with an assault rifle and zoom off in my Habanero.

 

Or jump up on the bush and kill them from there.

I do this.

 

1. Drive to back entrance. Go to side where the Granger is sitting with door open.

 

2. Throw sticky square in the middle of the Granger sitting in the middle of that side in the garage. Once that sticky hits, they'll notice you.

 

3. Throw sticky number two in the open door of the Granger that is sitting by that exit. Hit the back of the open driver's side door.

 

4. Bam. If placed right, those two wipe out around 3/4ths of the people in the garage.

 

5. Hit the people by the cars in front.

 

6. Move in with auto shotty for the last two guys by the car in the middle.

 

7. Grab document and go.

 

I don't take the helicopter. Going with a Entity, Adder, Jester or Infernus, you just breeze through to Madrazo's house.

I find the pistol whip (or in my case the Assault Shotgun) method kinda risky. Sometimes the first guy's pistol discharges upon dropping and sets everyone off, while other times I can beat down everyone in the garage just fine.

All I see with randoms are 3 groups.

 

1. Shoot immediately...wtf this takes longer

 

2. RPG's everywhere...blowing up the documents half the time

 

3. Entity backwards. These guys are always fast and efficient so I can't complain.

 

Me? Itry to whack the first guy on the left then take out most of them in about 5 seconds with head shots.

You usually get a warning of about 2 seconds if they are going to fire doing pistolwhip, so in that case just take cover and shotgun them.

There is only ONE strategy for completing Rooftop Rumble and it can be done with just TWO players.

 

 

Both players stand on the dirt near the train tracks

 

One person calls for the helicopter while the other person snipes the three guys in front

 

Both players then flank each side of the front of the parking garage.

 

Player on the left uses grenade/rocket launcher and aims for the left side of the garage, Player on the right uses an automatic weapon, preferably special carbine. The Garage should be emptied in ten seconds

 

One player goes and picks up the document, the other goes and takes out the pilot in the helicopter(note you do not need to unload a whole clip from your assault shotgun to take him out, a simple headshot from any pistol will do) I've seen countless trigger happy players blow up the helicopter using their assault shotguns

 

 

Deliver the document

 

Rinse and Repeat

Park on the arrows and take cover on the left side of the entrance. Grenade launcher on the guy on the right, and fire another one immediately after he's hit. After that, advanced rifle the two or three left in the middle. Run straight through the garage at the two at the opposite end of the garage you were on and kill them, then the last on the right hand side. Grab docs and haul balls to Madrazos house. AP pistol out the back at the SUVs just for the RP. You can normally outrun them with a super car.

HOLD ON, i was not aware that those cars have armored car like qualities??? but you get shot once or twice in the vid, how EXACTLY does that work? only from a certain angle, or from above? yes im aware of the entity's and other cars rear protection....

K guys, some tips for those looking for max profit, first is the best

 

 

DO NOT shoot the goons....seriously. Walk up to them w gun in hand, and pistol whip them. Right in the face. All of them. They will do nothing until a gun is fired. Or are otherwise startled.....which is hard to do, i was showing this to some friends that were skeptical, and i accidentally ran into one knocking him to the ground, so i just waited till he stood up, and broke his eye socket in front of him and 3 other dudes. They did nothing.

 

Goons dead, documents dropped, w not a penny lost for ammo. Seriously. SERIOUSLY.

 

 

Now be aware the suvs only come when the bag man hits triangle to hop in a car. I bet you could run all the way to Martins, but thats no fun. Use this time, if needed, to decide how to get there.....call in a heli, call mechanic for a fast car, etc.

-Any decently fast car (sports/supers esp) w a competent driver can make there no problem. I personally have never failed or been killed, nor have seen anyone else, unless the car was slow and the driver got it stuck in a tree or something...... I never felt the need to call in a heli and blow 1k. Also not sure why someone would call for pegasus heli whent the time spent driving to it could be spent driving north.

-Ive also been in quite a few missions where the carrier would tap triangle to call out the suvs, with everyone ready n waiting on foot, and take down the suvs when they come. I have no strong opinion on this method, its effective, but it takes an extra minute or two.

-I use mainly auto shotty, maybe auto pistol and/or a rifle. No need for grenades/rpgs/expensive artillery, they only increase the odds of blowing up the documents.

 

-Also note that during the mission, you cannot get a wanted level, so have some fun if you want, rob stores, attack the gsf and ballas, etc......not sure if the army base can entered.

-If im not in the delivery car, i love to drive up n down the canal, using the sides as ramps, jumpin over the train bridge and thru the trusses of the road bridge. Make a nice car ugly real quick.

to expensive and not needed imo. why spend possibly thousands of dollars when you dont need to fire a single shot? i also see no need to spend money on a heli....unless no one brings a decent car into mission, sure, ive brought my snow emperor in before...but either drive away quickly or stand your ground and fight.

 

i dont intend to argue or insult any one, i just dont understand.....but then again flying helis is fun...yell at me if you want haha

it really is! very silly, very funny the first bunch of times. cant believe this is possible...does anyone have a logical explanation as to why this is? something do w their behavior being affected by no wanted levels? Edited May 3, 2014 by jtet37

Just tried the pistol whip. It works, but I think you have to be quick. I had to shoot the last few because of something. Delayed reaction maybe.

The Pistol whip em works sometimes. Sometimes when you whack them they will fire their gun as they fall down. Which then results into everyone shooting you. Its usually the female professional who does this. But yeah that method is the best.
