Yep. Made sense all along. I was one of the few people who knew rock star wouldn't give us TWO updates in April

 

April: The Buzz kill Update

May: High life

June: Heists

I find it kind of weird if Rockstar release the update later in this month. Cause i bet Rockstar, has received a lot of mails from fans complaining about how boring the online gaming have been the last weeks. Including multiple sites and youtubers have said the game has started to die. So i guess Rockstar, woke up a little and brought this to us. Only so the community could get back some of the burning desire again to play.

It also makes no sense by releasing this dobbel RP & $ this weekend, than afterwards: sorry but you guys have to wait to the end of the month. Is like giving a kid a lot of sugar, than oooooooh noo more. The community will go back to complaining and get bored again.
But of course i really hope they bring out the dlc during next week. But we never know about Rockstar, they completely run their own show when it comes to this game.

I've been saying exactly that since the day the 1.12 update was released and most told me to shut up, that i didn't know what i was talking about that the High Life was going to come out on 4/20-4/22-4/29 and it's funny how when they were proven wrong instead of just admitting they were wrong they decide that R* must've pushed the launch date back.

Everyone in the comments on the Newswire post seem to be under the impression that they're going to release it on Sunday since the events usually last all weekend, not just Friday and Saturday, but I can't see that happening.

 

I hope it does, but I can't see it.

Yeah as much as I'd like to see the high life come out tuesday the 6th or even earlier, i think we'll most likely see it the 13th or possibly the 20th. If it was coming out next week, I'd think R* would say so like the capture creator last month.

 

I dont know what to think. I dont get why they would have this happening (double RP and money) right now, if they're going to release so far from now.

Been thinking about this weekend with the double money and rp and to be honest i don't think heists will be on the next update. If they were gunna be on the next update why would they do the double money this weekend. Just a thought

All this 2X RP/$ is is an opportunity for us to make some of that in hopes to keep us active for the upcoming High Life DLC.

 

Heists weren't planned to be part of the High Life DLC anyway, regardless of this mini event.

Since we haven't gotten any so far, I'm starting to expect that we will never get any more, aside from heists.

 

The sad thing is that they shouldn't be too hard to make the way they have them set up. There are no intro cutscenes or dialogue things to record, they just deliver them via text, during the mission they just send texts, and at the end of the missions there is either nothing or a generic copy-paste cutscene thing that is recycled.

I'd rather they add spontaneity to the missions rather then the cutscenes and phone calls

To the people saving up 7 or 8 million to max out your second car garages for two characters.You do realise most people play with one character,not two and most people don't have any intention of buying 20 new cars and fully modding them on the day high life is realised.You guys are the ones who play GTA 5hours a day and spend 4 of those grinding RR,then complain that the game isn't fun. Most people will only buy a garage/apartment and 2 or 3 cars on the realease of highlife. Anyway the cost of filling a 10 car garage and buying the new clothes/guns will probably go as such:New apartment 400k-700k,zentorno 700k-900k, masscaro 150k-250k,Huntley 80k-130k,thrust 12k-20k,new gun 15k and 3-4 decent outfits at 12k each 36-48k.That means (and this is a rough but still very probable estimate)1.4m minimum to 2.06m for the high life update.Obviously you would still have 6 garage slots to fill and it's nearly impossible to tell what everyone will buy.Some will fill them with cars of the street,others with cars each costing nearly a million.But roughly speaking,if you fill your remaining spots with one super,2sports and 3 street cars thats probably another 600k-1.2million.Meaning over all the high life high life will cost about 2m-3.3m excluding car mods(which most players add over a long period of time).
