I think I found the reason why most think heists will "get old fas

You see, some of the forum members here have opened my eyes as to why a lot of people think that Heists will be "boring" or "not worth the wait". It's simple, those people just want the heists because of the money. There is another thread on here about if heists will be make or break. Most people don't seem excited at all because they already have "too much money".

Who cares? What is money anymore in this game? People are consistently glitching money in, and everyone else can just farm rooftop rumble. The in-game money system (wouldn't even call it an economy anymore) is basically f*cked and heists aren't going to make it any better.

I think that people who say that heists are going to be boring, or that they aren't worth it because the money won't be there are doing it for the wrong reasons. In real life yes, heists are done for cash. No sh*t, but this is a game. Take a second to look back on the heists from the single player real quick, sure it felt good to make a load of cash but the adrenaline rush is what made it fun. It wasn't the fact that we had bags of cash on our backs, it was that we're doing a heist, cops all over us and can be ended anytime. Say I'm taking them too serious, I don't care. No doubt in my mind will rockstar not try their damnedest to make these heists as fun.

tl:dr, Stop thinking heists will only be good if you make substantial amounts of cash, or that they'll be boring because they'll be like "every other mission". Take them for what they are and stop being so damn picky. Go look at a game like payday 2 where every mission is a heist, that you play over and over, but still is amazingly fun to play.

I've never thought like that.

I'm excited for heists because I think they will be a unique type of mission, and I'm genuinely hoping they are long, unique, and engaging like the story mode heists are.
Though I do hope they have good payouts. That's not why I want to play them, however.

If heists will not become the fastest way to gain money/rep... people just won't keep playing them for long.

In all honesty, I'm pretty sure heists are gonna suck and have low payouts.

I'm gonna laugh if heists are like this and the people saying they will suck are amazed. Oh, and f*ck payouts. Who cares?

If they require tatics and smart thinking I'm in. If Rockstar just "baby" us then I'm not. It's as simple as that.

Heists will disappoint those looking for a quick payday. But f*ck them. Heists will be a great time for those looking to have a fun new type of mission. I'm excited to give them a whirl but am in no way awaiting the huge cash flow that others seem to think they should be bringing.

I agree with you completely.

I always expected heists to be comparable to the single player ones and I have always wanted them just for the sake of playing the heist with other people more than making money (though money will certainly be nice too). If it's too easy to consistently beat the heists then I'm worried they could get boring but as long as they remain challenging every time I expect to have a lot if fun playing them going forward (assuming the poor matchmaking doesn't present as too severe a problem, the system as it stands is seemingly random and will make finding competent players who have mic's difficult any time you need to resort to using randoms).

If I've understood the op correctly, you're doing a great job of illustrating the point.

I'm just thinking they will be a string of smaller missions to get to the big one. Steal a car, steal some uniforms, steal some plans, take photos; then you get to get to do the big payout mission, but you have to do the others first to get there. But who knows, something different.

Now where is the ability to buy a trailer in Sandy Shores, eh?

It doesn't take a genius to figure out that a bunch of "Heists aren't what I thought they'd be..." and "Disappointed with heists..." type of threads will flood the forums instantly the day heists come out. Everyone is expecting some epic major heists, like 50x as major as the ones in singleplayer but they will cry when they realize its a simple drive to this location, hack this, steal that, drive to this location, cutscene, mission over type of thing.

Hey now, let's not forget about the thrill of watching Lester plan out each approach, then letting the host pick his crew members and their jobs.

There's no reason to put so much effort into a job if it has low payout. Those saying "oh it's just for fun!" will be the first to drop hate bombs on the heists.

If it's something like $100k for a very very hard escape robbery. Hell yeah I'm in.

If it's an extremely extremely hard escape robbery for a $100 bill, count me out.

I honestly can't see heists paying anything more than $50K, unless there is a lengthy cooldown time upon completion.

R* has stated a few times that GTAO is not meant to be a grind, and upon release have taken measures to try and prevent it. Nothing significant of course as people are going batsh*t crazy this weekend in RR, but it doesn't take much effort to remove it from the Start menu, like Coveted.

I'm absolutely positive this is how it's gonna be. For some reason people have the idea that R* are slaving away day and night for the past 7 months to make heist "perfect" but in reality, they were probably already finished before the online even launched, so they have just been pushing them further back than lebron James' hairline and will release them when it is most suitable for them...

In case you didn't read my OP, I pretty much stated that they should be played for fun with cash just being a bonus. "It's not about the destination, it's about the journey that gets you there."

At the end of the day most people are going to play heists purely for the cash and RP then complain about it. Nothing you can do here.

Achievement Hunter did a good job of showing that heists can be fun even when you're only banking $1,000... and all they do is come up with some convoluted plan to rob a convenience store and escape. It always falls apart but it looks like they're having a ton of fun.

I don't care about the payout at all. I only hope that heists will be f*cking hard, require a lot of preparation work and actual teamwork.

Me and my pals have been doing this a lot lately. Which helped me get to my OP.

After discovering RR today and making a million just from casually playing all day I can't say any amount of money from it is going to feel impressive, just got to take them for what they are

First off, I want to bitch a bit. While I agree completely with your point, I'm so f*cking tired of people making a WHOLE new topic just to state their point of view on heists. We need a pinned heists topic.

Anyway, on topic: I'm probably in the very small minority of players that will do heists for the money. I hate farming Rooftop Rumble or any other mission and I've glitched-sold a car twice very early on in GTA:O. I need the money, I rob stores so I could buy gun ammo, you feel me? I'll stab someone so I don't have to use my bullets. I get a haircut every 2 months. If cops ask me to pull over I do because I don't want to buy new tires. If my car gets a scratch I just put tape over it.

Jokes aside, I seriously need the money and if one heist takes 10 minutes to do and gives $40,000+ and is fun, I'll totally do them over and over. While RR is faster, I'm utterly spent doing it. The heists is the only announced DLC I'm excited for. I'm just wishing R* would do a "Lost & Damned/Gay Tony" type of DLC....

I'll just do heists for money. If it isn't paying good, I'm not doing them IMO. Sure there's fun, But when it come's to GTAO, I'm a greedy motherf*cker.

Players should accumulate "heist stats" so the heist lead man / host can select actual players for the heist during that exciting corkboard planning phase. It would be fun to kick people with bad stats, like "blew up 5 PVs in last heist" or "destroyed the heist objective in 3 of the last 4 heists" or "routinely kills all heist team members." :)

If Heist missions are a blast, I could care less how much they payout. Money isn't hard to make in this game as it is. There's quite a few missions I still play even though the payout is less than 10K cause they are actually fun.

To be honest, I think I'm looking more forward to additions of the Single Player part than Heists. Can never get enough Trevor shenanigans.

Or "Beware: this asshole is known to kill teammates to have a bigger cut". :p

I'd love a bit of info on each player like:

Well, I could take XxCOD4LYFxX seeing he wants 20% but seems he dies a lot due to running around, saying, "come at me, bro!"...

Or I could take bigguy69 as he's a good shot but he drives a chrome adder, blinding his teammates with his swag.
