Can't Decide Whether A Car Is Good At Drifting Or Not

So I was in a car meet earlier, and we had a drift competition. I didn't have an drift cars so I decided to use my Benefactor Serrano (SUV / Crossover) and put Tuner tires on it and changed the Transmission to Sport.

It worked okay. It held its own on the streets but once I hit the dirt, it wouldn't slide which was weird. So, I'm having trouble finding a good drift car considering the fact that I'm gonna sell the Serrano. Here's a list I'm thinking:

Futo

Dominator

Sabre Turbo

Habanero (don't know if this is a good drifter)

Schwartzer

Any auggestions?

Obey 9F and Karin Sultan.

Im kind of trying to derail from Sports because I already have an Elegy RH8 and a Jester

Futo and schwatzer are good, the stinger GT is badass at drifting but does cost more than 800k and it's a sports classic! Type of tire doesn't affect how cars handle unfortunately.

Banshee is really good for drifting. Just tap that E-brake once in 2nd gear and its boosting/spinning its wheels.

My favorite is the Phoenix (I'm sure the Ruiner is pretty much the same) as it slides quite a lot. Plus, muscle cars at an angle just look badass.
As said, Banshee is great. I don't know if sport transmission and tires do much of a difference, to be honest, to me it just seems like speed. Just get decent speed and try the different suspensions. Some cars handle better/worst with suspension changes. For example, my Phoenix slides much more with no change in suspension but the Banshee is lowered to the most I can get it so it doesn't crash everywhere coming out of a drift.

-snip-

Thanks!

I'm no drift expert (in another topic I sort of said I don't think GTA has real drift and that got a guy pissed) so I can be wrong about the transmission and tire thing but honestly, if you got speed, it all that matters for a nice, long drift. I also recommend going down the hills of Vinewood Hills. It keeps your drift going one after the other and it looks pretty damn good, too. I find RWD cars drift longer while AWD get more angle due to the control you have over the car. Find some muscle cars, they do the trick nicely. Supers got the speed but in my opinion don't look as great when drifting. Then there's sand (rally) drifting which is fun too and easier to do. It really doesn't matter what car you get, though, all you need is a good spot. Once you got the spot, just try different things. You'll see for yourself what your car lacks and you try another car out and then you see what makes a good drift car. :)

Also, you should thank the others that posted in this thread, they mentioned great cars.

I fail to see how people are trying to sell off that AWD cars can "drift"

The entire idea of AWD is to not break traction, guys. It's possible to drift in a AWD car but if you actually wanna have some fun drifts invest in a high output RWD car.

That being said; most muscle cars are good drifters, personal favorite is the Phoenix.

Okay so I've decided ill be getting either a Dominator or Sabre Turbo to drift. I would get pheonix but its a little too tail happy for me. Plus the dominator and sabre are good racers.

You want a drift car, and you disregard a car that's too tail happy...? And you're... looking for a drift car.

Okaaay then.

Maybe he's looking for a car that doesn't slide in every corner. The Phoenix needs some special loving. It's the oldest car I own (it was my...3rd car I got?) and it does well on straights but go in a corner and chances are you'll be sideways most of that turn.

Understandable, but I just found it really silly and funny how you want a drift car but disregard one because it has the ability to stick it's end out alot.

To each to their own, more power to you dude, drift away.

CrysisAverted

The Cargobob is best for drifting, land it in the ocean and go afk, it will drift for miles

Funny those "drifters" out there don't mention two sports classics - Monroe + Stinger (GT).
