GTA's stories titles not to be underrated.

Hey everybody !

 

I've read lately that many people ignore or have never played Liberty- or Vice City Stories, however I quickly created this thread to point out the qualities of those games, it ain't gona be a sophisticated exposé, but I'll just resume quickly.

 

 

In general they aren't the game which are supposed to be played by GTA newbies, because they're not a definition of the GTA genre, rather insiders, a must for GTA fans.

In both, you will meet again side characters from previous GTA games, which will be portrayed with more depth, which gives more character to the 3D universe, the plots are really good and the gameplay is fluid and fun, I'll recomend it for PS2 or PC emulator + gamepad (simply buy the game and do a ISO from it, that's what I did).

 

Liberty City Stories are for those who hated having to sneak on the Leone family in GTA III, a playable mafia film with a well exploited liberty city. Mafia fans, you will love it.

Vice City Stories is carrying on in this 80's atmosphere with an awesome soundtrack and an awesome storyline. The game is worth a stand-alone.

 

Both give hints and references to the main titles as a prequel to their events.

 

In conclusion those 2 games will give more depth to the universe of Grand Theft Auto, to their charachters and locations, a must have for fans !

I agree with you, OP. My favorite GTA game so far is VCS.

Yeah they were pretty good. I really liked the empire building aspect of VCS and hope it is in the next GTA. Albeit with improvements and updates.

No they don't trains are awesome. They should bring back the train driving Minigame from San Andreas in the next GTA

I loved LCS in fact i would say it was My Favourite gta from the 3d Era i have beat it a ridiculous amount of times it has a good Storyline Great Characters it was a simple but great game like an Enhanced version Of Gta III IMO

 

Vcs was Good but i found it to be quite Forgettable tbh The Story on Paper Looked good but in Execution not so good and the Characters were possibly the Most Bland And Forgettable in the Series i would still take it over San Andreas Though.

I could never get into LCS to be honest. I mean for a PSP game it was good, but it felt like a softer GTA III. VCS was a much better game and I really enjoyed the empire building.

 

However I don't think either are as good as GTA III and VC respectively.

They're not bad, just not great, especially compared to what else the franchise has given us.

My biggest gripe with those two games was there were a ton of missions with meters and timers, really just finicky, stressful, and unfun.

The stories and atmosphere in both were pretty interesting, especially seeing Lance and Vic rise through Vice City. I'd also like to see features like business ventures return.

VCS is my fav GTA just because of the nostalgic feeling you get from the city, neons, purchesable vehicles, the return of flyable planes (sadly only two. Biplane and the Skimmer) and the story. Really a great game if you have completed the original one before. Also the changed map is really cool.

I think GTA VCS is much better than the orginal Vice City.

 

GTA 3 and GTA LCS are nearly same.

Toni Cipriani is a GTA 3 character already.
