The Community Is Active Again!

For the first time since probably the launch of GTAO, this community is active again. With the 2X event happening, people are hustling and bustling all throughout the map! I see people setting bounties, people claiming them, people inviting the lobby to missions, and working as a team to accomplish goals. I see less PVP in free mode as I assume most people are doin missions.

 

This is good. I can honestly say that this event sparked the flame of the community.

Really? I'm sick of hosting deathmatches and races and having everybody ignore my invites so they can continue doing whatever they're doing in freemode.
I don't get it.. what's so fun about killing each other over and over and getting nothing for it?
If you love killing people so much.. join deathmatches where you get rewarded for killing people for crying out loud.

NOTHING, all people do is inflate their K/D ratio in free mode and/or grind RR

 

capture is finally being plaid but literally EVERY game out there is some retarded bank job that doesn't work for sh*t

i've been playing since launch it is the same. besides it's not really double rp it's just more then normal. play RR and see 4400 to 5600 rp. total bs

i don't think there is any more people playing than usual, in that i dont think there is anyone, or not many anyway, who had stopped playing and come back, they are just all playing at the same time.

Generalizations on the behavior and popularity of this community is pointless. You can not sample enough players in 20 sessions to know what the trend is. You assume more people are cooperating. Join one session over and it's twanker anarchy.

Red Dead Redemption had double xp longer in its life than GTA V and people went back to play it. I don't know why people go play something because there's double the reward and then don't play the game for another few weeks/months but it works. GTA V is such in a weird position that no other games faces: it's the last major (that I know of) title of the Xbox 360 (not sure about PS3) and it's going up against new hardware and games with better graphics. It's a tough struggle, I'm sure, and hope R* make GTA V on the current/old gen last as long as they can.
