So still no high life but it's coming this month and I'd imagine it's soon considering this weekend grinding missions really pays off and rockstar obviously want us to have the new items, this says two things the high life update must release real soon and considering they want us to get a lot of money maybe everything will actually be very expensive who knows

They did say it's coming out this month...so obviously it's very soon, I say it's in 2 weeks

Given that this only lasts until Saturday night eastern, i'm tempted to say this coming Tuesday, maybe. If it was the week after next I could see them having this promotion out longer.

If the update doesnt come out this Tuesday it doesnt make sense to have the double xp this weekend and not the weekend just before the update.

I was thinking about the High Life update coming on Tuesday as well. GTA was packed this morning and I haven't seen it like that for a long time. The double payouts is most likely being done to get people back to playing the game right before the update.

 

Things have changed for me too. For instance, in Chopper Tail the lady cop on the bike now drives at you instead of just being parked.

It's because online play has probably hit a low and they want to bump those numbers up, possibly bringing people back to regular gameplay...before High Life comes out

They're releasing High Life and things are going to cost a lot so they are trying to give people a chance to bring in some fat cash so they can enjoy all the new stuff and purchase new cars.

Why do you think R* is against they're players all the time? They obviously like us, hence why they'd be nice and do something like this.

I think the double pay is to combat the general perception that they are pushing cash cards. I think it's a great move and I can't wait to get off work today. I can't say anything bad about this move....

As for this thread, they are doing this because they care about their fans and want to be fair so they are giving us an opportunity to grind, remember this is something they HATED at the beginning of GTA:O, hence, why they took out the reply button, to earn enough money to afford the items of the new DLC, that, may or may not, will be coming next week.

The cash card business is dying off...thats why this is happening now. I've been waiting for this to happen. Rockstar, because they are a business/greedy corporation, has always tried to force people to buy cash cards to purchase the DLC stuff. The reason this weekend is double GTA$ is because Rockstar has started to see that the cash card well is running dry. People are starting to quit buying them, so they will now start to give us more of what we want.

 

I like that Rockstar is finally giving us a chance to get the money in-game instead of trying to force cash cards on people. I have never bought a cash card, so it has gotten really annoying to me that the payouts are so horrible in this game. This weekend shows me that the cash card biz is really dying off, so they gave us this double GTA$ to bolster the playerbase. Good job Rockstar!!!

The reason is to bring in as many players to stress test their servers prior to releasing the heists.....*unconfirmed
