Disclaimer and Warning (TL;DR) not for light readers! or the obligatory why do all this "work" when I can just cash card. Well this thread obviously isn't for you.

This will be my first post on these forums, let me just start by saying its awesome to be part of this cool forum, love the way its handled. (Raavi I'm talkin to you....yea you... )

Now to the topic at hand, Grinding some do it for in game money(because of the price tag on most thing in online are high), experience etc. While these things may change one thing does not, it becomes time consuming. I myself am no stranger to "The Grind Time". Now lets explore some options.

MAJOR OVERSITE

Thank you to senormidget for pointing this out

You definitely want to keep track of is what you are spending versus what you are taking in after the mission is over. For example if you like to do the mission cleaning the cat house you may find it very cost effective if you have a buzzard to just land on top of the derelict motel and escort the target without firing a round. And further more as this forum member pointed out, if time is your main concern a playlist such as the ones AiraCobra has posted in other threads may be more optimal for you. They have less of a load time in between missions and are less likely to crash when played by yourself or with one other.

One trend that is common and followed by many is listening to music. I find it easy when listening to other video game soundtracks, or movie soundtracks with or without lyrics. To list a few examples of easy following music (for me) to get in the "zone".

Journey(the game), Tales of symphonia, The Hobbit, Red Dead Redemption, Diablo 2, Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask, Star Wars, Legend of Dragoon, just to name a few. It really depends on your taste in the end.

Second thing to make a note of. What are you going to grind and is it efficient? Find yourself a routine and have at least a back up for example, you could do a succession of gang attacks and store robberies if freeroam is your thing. Or like many others and my self like to do is grind high paying missions or a playlist. Whether or not you play with your friends and or crew is entirely up to you. I myself like to do it alone that way if I make a mistake its my fault and no one else's.

Thirdly make sure to have good energy boosters (crackers, light sandwich, etc) nearby and liquids to keep you hydrated and focused. I suggest water as it has what your body needs obviously and personally it keeps me from getting headaches which is a plus . Also remember that taking a break every good while does you some good. I get up, stretch, go outside and smoke while reading these forums. While I don't recommend smoking to anyone as its hazardous to ones health and do so at your own risk. Likewise with reading the forums while taking a break, I only say this because its obvious some people like to troll, some are just there to spam, what ever the case maybe its not worth your relax time, and most definitely not worth cutting into grind time. Just do what I do and forget you can post, because there is nothing more pointless than winning an internet argument, or arguing opinion as fact.

Lastly remember that these are only suggestions and methods that many many others and myself have used to make it easier to achieve goals and mostly to make the grind less boring (for most).

And now for the FAQ and or general statements.

1 why the hell would you write all this?

a)I find a lot of people saying they have little funds, or "grinding is too much work I play games to have fun". It doesn't have to be this way though, there are was to make it easier hence the long a$$ post.

2)you really have nothing better to do huh bro?

a) I usually find myself with a lot of free-time, so no I guess not huh? "next!"

3)what do you get from all this?

a)I find it easier to "grind for my money ect" because when I play freeroam I want to do just that I don't want to be hindered or be scared of running out of money. Like many of you know things in GTAO are not cheap.

4) [off topic] Hopefully one of the people in my respect list "pops my forum cherry"

*sits on rooftop and activates the Raavi beacon*..... A man can dream though.... a man can dream.......>Professor Hubert J. Farnsworth< .jpeg.

pps; being a first time poster in all im pretty sure I posted this in the right spot. I also looked through at least 5 pages in the search function and found nothing relevant to this topic, but if there is im sorry I missed it. :miranda::facedesk:

My "grinding" usually consists of me doing mass amounts of public races. I keep music on in the background most of the time, and I find if I'm vibing well enough with the current track, I can better concentrate on the race and not hitting other players/props. The variance in levels of skill in the competition and different tracks help keep it from feeling much like a grind though.

Back when I used to grind coveted I would try to pay as little attention to the game as I had to while multitasking with a bunch of other things (gtaforums, netflix, weed, expanding my music collection, internet browsing...)

Welcome to the forum :)

For some reason i had a hard time reading all of it, but that's probably just me.

OT: For me grinding is doing the same thing over and over again, i just do different missions and a couple of survivals now and then that way it doesn't feel like grinding too much.

Ah yes them good ole netflix. Gotta love it and Google search too lol. I find that when I am grinding and watching something like a movie it has to be something that i have watched before many times like the dark crystal or spirited away actually lol. But only because if its something that catches too much of my attention while playing a mission like stocks and scares the random spawns can catch me off guard.

Welcome the Forums Mate.

When I do grinding, I usually invite a couple of friends and chat with them to make it go faster, maybe put on some good music instead of the in game music and before you know it, a few hours have already passed, so this is the list :p

-Invite a few friends over live or real life

-Put in good music to listen to.

-Have fun and before you know it you would have made over 100K

Same here, if its something I've never seen before I'd either get too focused on the show/movie (resulting in a cargobob turbine explosion) or I'd lose track of what is going on in the show/movie and have to go back.

I see what you meant on the hard on time reading, it was riddled with spelling mistakes sorry been pulling an All-Nighter.

OT: I find the survivals to be a bit time consuming, but only because sometimes you have to hunt down that last npc depending on the map, or whether or not you do it with friends. Somehow though that one guy slips in who doesn't do a d@mn thing lol, and that just serves as a minor distraction to me.

Sooo listen to music, drink water, eat snacks and take breaks?

Not to shoot down your thread OP but these aren't exactly groundbreaking techniques, nor are they specifically helpful in context of grinding, they sound like more general tips for being comfortable while gaming

I would've suggested stuff like -

- Don't use explosives, it wastes money that you've grinded

- Find the fastest possible route to destinations

- Call a Buzzard when necessary, it's faster and has unlimited ammo for only $200

- Use playlists to reduce loading times

- etc

If you're so bored playing the game that you watch stuff on Netflix then I honestly don't understand why you would continue to play it.

My grinding consists of :-

1. Invite only

2. Sell Baller or the like

3. initiate RR

4. At voting screen choose any race, parachute jump or mission (preferably one I have not done before but these are getting less and less now)

5. Repeat step 4 for 1 hour then exit voting screen

6. goto step 2.

rinse and repeat.......

Ok does not get me as much a repeatedly doing RR on it's own but I like the variety and parachute jumps can earn you a pretty packet if you hit all the targets.

Biohazard Abyss

Or you could just play a wide array of missions instead of just one, since ALL missions have x2 payout, not just freakin' Rooftop Rumble.

Not at all it is feedback that I take gladly. You are right they aren't ground breaking techniques. The only reason I thought it would be useful is because most people want to be comfortable when they grind. I find it to be an important part. But even more importantly as you pointed out. Smple calculations such as the ones you demonstrated above are crucial to optimizing your grind.

For instance, when doing a crystal clear out 8X its easier for me too call in the tank that way I waste no ammo and always kill the last enemy from a good distance so that way one doesn't have to struggle with the location of the tank as it will stay where you completed the mission. Not so for the PV though. And i never said I was bored at all. I just like to multitask like many others do.

griding is for peasants!!!! hahahaha

now on a serious note, you should try playing a mix of missions instead of repeating one over and over again, i used to play crystal clear out 1-2-3 back to back for hours just because those mission are fun and the payout was decent at the time.

I no longer grind these days but do accept random RR invites. For me i mostly do dms and races. Before you know it,you already made 200k(although it may be time consuming).Games are made to have fun,not to be a full time job.I found out that playing dms and races are generally good fun, even better when you do it with friends. At least i have less chance of getting headaches or depression when playing things that are non RR.

tl,dr:Don't grind, play the game the way it supposed to be or you would get depression or mental illness when Gta VI comes out.

--------

If you really want to grind, don't just play one mission only.Play a few different missions. Here goes my list of missions:

1.Chopper Tail

2.Coveted

3.Stocks and Scares

4.Trash Talk

5.Mixed up with Coke (no Buzzard)

6.RR

Oh,and welcome to the forums op.

I will never understand people that feel the need to grind. The simple fact that you felt it necessary to provide this post implies that the process is not enjoyable. Why do something you dont enjoy in the first place? The point of gaming is to entertain yourself.

I won't go so far as to insult anyone who does it but I truely just don't get it. If I didnt enjoy playing the game I wouldn't be playing it.

exactly. If the game feels like a chore, why play it. Why I don't repeat missions over and over because its boring as hell.

When I'm 'grinding' in a sense, music helps yeah, bong of course keeps things interesting. But as for things I do in game, when I'm rollin solo, I ALWAYS occupy myself with store robbery/gang attack/armored truck/selling baller for 9K/simeon wanted vehicle on map (or from list). Do one after the other. Profit is profit. It builds up.

There are moments in between where 1.) Trucks wont spawn 2.) I'm on wait till I can sell another car & 3.) I'm on the verge of 4stars from robbing stores. During this time I normally do an RR or 2 solo, or join a few random races, then ultimately return to the grind. Keeps things fresh in my experience. Can easily make between 80k-200k doing this, & that's just when I'm in no mood for free roam, or interaction.

You might think to just grind missions over n over. But sometimes I want to make money & dont feel like missions . So I do this. Like I said, ultimately $$ is certainly made. & to me, it keeps thing fresh. Its easy to get bored if you dont bother with these little 'side missions'. Other small benefits from this is 1.) Always keep max snacks on you & 2.) Easy ammo if you do gang attacks with your pistols. OH & intentionally getting a random NPC bounty while doing this is FREE money

I guess my response to that would be is that I see grinding as a different play-style. To further answer the question that LuapYllier put is that one of the other reasons I didn't state above is that I'd like to be a very high ranking legit player maybe something like 700+ just because I can.

Off topic but somewhat relevant. My fiance says that im just the nut in the fruit bowl. I guess thats true. :catloaf:

Then stop assuming people aren't enjoying what they're doing. That assumption is flat out wrong. Do you glitch your cash? Regardless if you do, I guarantee, I enjoy the game more than you. Because I make use of, play & explore every facet of this game. I parachute, race any race, survival, tdm, LTS, grind missions endlessly, make $$ in free roam, I play with friends, I play with my crew, I tank, I buzzard, I've purchased & modded nearly ever car at this point, I also make use of the "Join Random" & other Quick job features constantly. I also STAY in lobbies of user created content. Always try out what people have to offer.

Go ahead down that list crossing off things you dont do. I'm sure its nearly half the list.
