Yes and no. In a way, you're right. But then again, the coming of the new consoles may just give them some room to improve, and attract people again. Have to admit, the recent Advanced Warfare teaser was pretty awesome. But I'm not having high hopes for it.

I think so. It's really annoying seeing the same "destroy america" story that's been going on since MW3.

"Go kill this Villain's henchmen and then kill him at the ending, but play this boring missions first in which US burns to the ground."

And then there's the MP.

"Go kill somebody and gain XP through this FPS perspective which had been going on since the early 2000s, but with futuristic gears we've never seen before"

Actually, I'd rather play Counter Strike. None of Call of Duty's "rewards" entice me to level-up, anyway. I actually like Battlefield more than COD because we could ride tanks, customize our vehicles/character...etc. Plus, the killstreaks are such an overkill. I'm referring to those like "the Gunship, Airstrike, Nuke.." I mean "Goez killz lutz of peopel and thun I iz rewardz you iz to kill moer and moer and nuke! Brah3x!"

this game is been played mostly by 5 to 11 year olds.

That's not important as much as that it's just the same concept (nothing new brought up) with enhanced tweaks. That's all!

For that reason alone, suffice to say, it sucks.

Plus, there are already great alternatives to this game, that further makes me wonder, how come people still buy it, and it always receives record breaking sales numbers?

The last COD I played and the only one I own is Black Ops. I've never really understood the fuss really. Some people act like its existence is a personal to them. I'm definitely not a fan of the franchise in general (Not a huge fan of FPSs), but I don't see the point ranting and raving like some people do that it's the same sh*t year after year.

It's obviously still a very good seller so I doubt it'll be ended anytime soon. Some people should swallow their pride and accept it rather than stressing over arguably the most successful franchise of the modern generation.

If there ever was a deadline, they already reached it with MW2. After its release, West and Zampella, along with the core crew, left IW and the studio has been struggling ever since. MW3 just tied up what they already built in MW2, but it was nothing groundbreaking and even though I haven't played Ghosts, I haven't heard much praise for it, even from the series' fans. Meanwhile, Treyarch seem to be happy doing their own thing, tweaking and playing around with the concept in the safe confines of a "guaranteed success" franchise, but they don't push it forward like old IW did with CoD 4 and MW2.

Ironically, I criticize rehashes and copypaste sequels, but I'm not sure if I mind this trend in CoD's case. At least for me, CoD isn't like GTA or AC where I expect some clear progress and changes. CoD is more like an annual sports franchise nowadays. You just pay for the roster update and little gameplay tweaks. I don't think of it the same way I think about, for example, Halo.

If you buy CoD or NHL every year, be my guest, enjoy them. I'll keep playing Black Ops, because the lobbies are still full of people and just update rosters in my NHL 13. But every once in a couple of years, or more, I'll get around it and buy a new installment if it's interesting. For example, AW seems really cool from I've seen from it. I don't believe it will deviate from the formula, but the new studio might fresh things up a little, just like Treyarch usually does. If it will continue to impress me throughout the year, I might get it, since I haven't bought a new CoD in a couple of years.

People who say it's the same sh*t year after year are just exaggerating. To be honest, there's really very few innovations on every new COD game.

I mean, it's very few that $60 is too huge to warrant those innovations. Heck, even the story has the same concept as the previous one. An Example would be Black Ops 2, MW3, and AW. I mean, aren't they tired of destroying the US over and over again?

I think all of Call of Duty games are very well done. The story is always fun and keep you interested and wondering what will happen next. Multiplayer always has so many hours of replayability. The game is always worth the 60 dollars in my opinion.

Yes and no, the games are dead but as long as there new 10 year olds evry year that keep buying it. I never have seen fun of easy simple minded games that make kills for you instead of you making the kills. I think kids are obsessed with k/d like k/d wont lie bro im 5/0 kd. I can shoot mike tyson and say dead body dont lie ( so im a fuking champion ) but thats no sport right. Cod is for people that dont understand fps games but still want there kills to say LOOK MY KD BRAH while 99% of his kills are from killstreaks or camping. Typical cliche rambo SP story lines like russian terrorists bla bla bla, its getting old very fast.

Either that or the "'Murica saves the world (AKA itself) - again" story. Black ops 1 is an example.

It's been like that every year since MW2.

They even used the MW2 ending animations in the Ghosts ending.

I think you're confusing MW2 with MW3.

No sir

To be fair, the Danger Close was one if the very few flaws it had.

The flaws were

Danger Close OP

One Man Army exploit

OP Dual 1887s

OP UMP 45

I think they fixed the UMP and the OP 1887s. They never got around the DC+OMA. That's two exploits, that's damn near perfect compared to now,

I hated MW series. Black Ops were more awesome. And no, it doesn't reached the deadline.

To be honest, Call of Duty has good endings. But, what's keeping them from being excellent are the predictable events.

*Chase Mr. Villain...pin him down...kill him..hints at another villain..wait for sequel

*Chase Mr. Villain..pin him down..kill him..he reveals another villain..wait for sequel

*Chase Mr. Villain..pin him down..kill him...no more sequel 'cause the villains are dead,

If they would change up the maps in MP I would like this series more. Treyarch does Zombies very well. But the MP maps with all three companies are the same every year. Literally, the make the same map and just call it a different name and change the colors of the map a little bit. I just hate when the map starts, you pretty much only have three routes you can take, left, middle, right, thats it. No wonder you die so fast on there. The maps are set up for you to die very easy. They need to take a page form Battlefield on the maps for sure. On Battlefield you have so many more options on where you can go, take cover, options. I will probably buy w/ season pass cause all my friends play because they are too dumb to play Battlefield.

I really hope it's really innovative as they make it out to be.

I really enjoyed playing COD4 because of the modern setting. It might be due to the fact that COD4 was the first true last-gen COD. I mean, we've had COD3, but it was cross-gen.

It might be the same this time, though(1st true current-gen COD innovating the franchise).

To be honest, I still buy COD games to date. But, only when they're under $30. I don't really like spending $60 for a few new features.

I don't really care about the new "models/meshes/textures/graphics". All I care about are the features.

I might buy this one after I get a PS4 if it's convincing enough.

No. I love every campaign(especially Black Ops 2, that game innovated a lot for it's campaign). The coop modes are always very fun.

Multiplayer is usually fun, but frustrating. So that is the only real negative for me.

I just saw a battlefield 4 competitive game....and it was worse than cod :/ I hate both series now sooo....If I had to pick I'd pick cod over battlefield due to competitive maps being the same as standard maps. in the end they've both turned into grind shooters :(

I don't think so. As long as money flows in, the more games there will be.

People can bitch and moan all they want about COD, but at the end of the day people will still buy the game and the season passes, and Activision still gets paid.
