lil weasel
They only, barely, tolerate CJ because of Cesar's link with Kendal.

GTA-Biker
I noticed that too,Aztecas should have been neutral to CJ(like the Triads are, they attack only if CJ attacks them first)since CJ met Cesar,or at least since the mission where he helps them take over their hood from the Vagos, but instead they still ask him what gang is he from and attack him if he answers that he´s in GSF.I guess it´s a mistake in programming,as the two gangs are supposed to be allied because of Cesar´s relationship with Kendl and friendship with CJ and later also with Sweet. yLavaly
The Byzantine Empire
They are definetly not friends but also not sworn enemies like GSF-Ballas. Aztecas and GSF are different natural gangs, the only connection between them is Kendl and Cesar. GSF-Ballas conflict is the true legend problem. They are true enemies . GSF-Ballas like the Soviet Union-USA. Two gangs based on same nigga culture, both gang wants domination of the whole Los Santos suburbs and black people regions. A serious conflict about same interest. Well, Aztecas and GSF don't have a serious interest problem like this. Also Kendl's boyfriend Cesar is CJ's friend and supporter. Jeansowaty
I understand it all, but they should have been at least neutral together, seeing as Carl and some GSF homies have helped the Aztecas to regain their turf... well, at least thanks to iFarbod, I can have them as friends Vishnuka and yLavaly 2 "Let death take my enemies by surprise; let them go down alive to the grave, for evil finds lodging among them." Raz3r95
I know how it works : If you killed memebers of a gang, then the gang starts to hate you. In the very beginning, where CJ didn't kill any ballas or vagos yet, they won't attack you as well (Only if you stay around them for too long and start pissing them off, but if you drive around in their hoods, they don't shoot) You probably killed accidentally some aztecas and the game registrated it in your statiscs. Sometimes even Grove Street Families attacks you, if you killed too many of them.. I accidentally killed A LOT OF aztecas during the gang wars, because they ran into my bullets... yLavaly

KBG
According to storyline, they are cool because of Kendl. But in free-roam, when you are in front of them, they would mutter something then attack CJ. This may be some programming error I guess. GroveStreetOG92
No the VLAs aren't cool with OGF at all. Only the 2 OGs of these 2 sets are cool with eachother but that doesn't mean the lower ranked members are.
Lancerator
Remember what Cesar and Gal said in Cesar Vialpando (mission) and Los Desperados. Jose: Horale vato. Who's this pendejo? Kendl Johnson: What? Dickhead? That dickhead is my brother! Cesar Vialpando: Easy, holmes. He ain't from nowhere. He's cool. Jose: Well I say he ain't cool, holmes. I say he thinks he's gangster, man, and I don't like it. So you know what you can do for me, man? You can f*ck off, pendejo, and maybe we cool. Carl Johnson: No, you f*ck off, I'm talking to my sister. Kendl Johnson: Carl! Cesar Vialpando: Jose, c'mon, holmes, I can handle this. This is important to me. Jose: Horale pendejo you lucky. That's right, you lucky Cesar's spoken for you. Vamanos muchachos. Let's get some f*cking beer, huh. I'm thirsty. Los Desperados. Gal: "Ah, and you must be CJ" Gal: "Cesar says you cool, so we cool, holmes" According to the pre-release version of SA, you could take over several VLAs turfs located in El Corona and Little Mexico respectively, I have no doubt of why this was removed later in the game. Both gangs, GSF and VLA are actually beefing with each other, the only thing that keep them alright with each other is because the link between Cesar and Kendl, which is CJ sister. I highly doubt that Cesar is the leader of VLA, but if this was 100% true, then the rivalry wouldn't exist. If Kendl wasn't meant to be Cesar's girlfriend then the rivalry between GSF and VLA would be logical. GroveStreetOG92
The whole VLA hood in EL Corona and where Cesar live is ALL Families on my PS2 file I haven't hung out around there enough to see if that be at it with eachother like that. I'm always on the far West Side in Temple,Market,Verona and Santa Maria.
DERGaming
They are friends but they aren't like "best friends" either you know what I mean? Edited September 16, 2016 by DERGaming
Osho
Don't seem to be cool because both gangs can be seen attacking at each other, and the player ( CJ ), as well. Ese - "you [ CJ ] lucky, Cesar has spoken for you" seems only applicable for one mission, not for the entire gang. Lancerator
ChumCrumpet
In the story, it seems Aztecas and GS tolerate each other. In the beginning they'll shoot at you for being in their turf, even when you go to see Ceaser. But near the end of the game you help them take their territory back which implies they have some sort of peace agreement. You also can't take their territories. When I used to play this game back at it's release, I always assumed Ceaser was the Azteca leader but from recent play throughs I don't really remember them stating that at all. Why people report them shooting at you at the end of the game, I don't really understand. I can't say I've had it happen to me, but that's not to imply it doesn't happen. Maybe a glitch, or an oversight? In my headcanon, I assume they're either allied or at least tolerate and leave each other alone, but I guess no one can really say for sure.
