Anybody Else Feel This Way?

Okay so I race cleanly, but just like everybody else, I accidentally hit somebody and knock them off. I feel like this makes me a target so I end up wrecking people for left and right thinking that they'll get me back. Anybody else feel this way? Anyway I can right my wrongs before wronging again?

Idk I haven't raced since unlocking all car mods and paints back in December

And that was just with friends trading wins back and forth

I don't think I ever raced competitively

I felt like that once but when I was playing Daytona at an arcade with other people :p

Actually,a lot of a@#hole will deliberately ram your car in a race especially when you are cornering, some even pretend to say sorry laughing away after screwing you of a race

If I nudge someone ahead of me, I'll stop and let them resume in front of me again. Feels better when I win cleanly ;).

Yes and it's called paranoia.

My friend is paranoid too and he would had random killed so much friendly players if I would not had been there to remind him to wait so we know if the other player is alright.

I am paranoid too. If someone stalks me I will go crazy and start going at full getaway mode or I will stop and wait the stalker with any explosive I got or my automatic shotgun. I really freaking hate stalkers.

I don't feel that way.
I ram everybody else deliberately because I know they'd do it to me if they get the chance to.

I got canned off so many races and was forced to DNF so many times because of no good sh*t for brains being pent up on spinning me out.

and no, everybody else doesn't race cleanly and 'accidentally' knock others off. They all do it on purpose.

I give multiple chances considering how easy slipstream and invincible cars have made ramming. However, if I'm pretty sure someone is racing dirty, I'll throw several races in a row to keep them out.

I like to race clean, so I do get those brief pangs of guilt when I unintentionally wipe someone out. Sometimes I'll slow down and wait for them to catch up, and I'll occasionally give them 1 retaliatory hit if they want it.

However, I can tell if someone hits ME intentionally or not. If it's an accident, I'll let it slide (the first time). If it's on purpose, and I catch back up to them, they're going out like Dale Earnhardt. I'll hit them so hard that their great grandkids will be wearing those goofy neck braces to People's Court.

If I'm in an especially foul mood, I'll slow down and wait for them to respawn, and then knock their ass off the road again. And again. And again. I've turned Long Haul into an 18 mile demolition derby because some squeaker wiped me out before the first damn checkpoint.

You need to have a personal set of rules and abide by them. It's what separates men from chrome Adder-driving baboons.

Every situation is different. Use your best judgment. Generally if I do that I'll call it as it happened "my bad". Accidents are going to happen no matter what. Most of the time I will also slow down and give that person some time to recoup. It's never made me an intentional target. Those that are interested in causing havoc already have the idea in their head before the race starts. You're really just adding fuel to the fire though. Avoid these folks or prepare to play dirty toward them (after assessing the situation yourself).

It's rare to find clean races.

Yes, we're all looking to race clean in a game where people blow the sh*t out of moving vehicles and shoot people in the face for no reason

Also asshole moves in a game that sets teams against 'the system.' It's PvP's fault that R*'s AI sucks, generally.

I've accidentally knocked people off the track, but now when I do it, I just stop until they're back on the track. I don't overly care about winning anymore.

Yea its frustrating as hell racing with randoms because 99% of the time they WILL ram you and whenever i do races if someone does it to me i WILL do it back but im a legit clean racer that uses skill to win. Whenever i do race its usually mostly with crew & friends.

I just want to point out thats it not all dirty racing. Alot of people who complain most of the time are WRONG.

Lag and driver error can sometimes cause unwanted crashes.

I had races where people accuse me of racing dirty till i explain to them they are LAGGIN' like crazy.

Also have races where people slam into me and go flying and blame me.

In the end.. You need to take the proper steps to avoid bullsh*t

Host you own race lobbys. Turn off catch up. Turn off slip stream in tracks with alot of turns. Limit the players in the race to at least between 4-8. And make sure they have a MIC.

Id say the mic is really important. Because at least you can get a sorry and explanation to what happened if a crash happens.

If anyone joins a race where you can pretty much hold the gas down the entire time... with catch up and slip stream and over 8 players. Thats not a race. Don't even bother trying to race clean.

Doesnt that make you a no good sh*t for brains?

OT: when in public I typically just go with the flow but when the race seems that people are attempting to be clean I will follow the guidelines my crew uses during crew races and wait for the victim to recover. You would be surprised at the resulting attitude changes sometimes.

But then again other times the victim gets back on the road and immediately tries to ram me off even though I am sitting and waiting.

There are clean racers, rammers, and everything in between.

If you hit somebody, they'll probably want to hit you back, regardless of the circumstances.

There are people that just go YOLO and decide to hit everybody, depending on the other racers/track, this strategy can either fail miserably or be a great zuccess.

Lately I've been getting able to notice how cleanly/aggressive other drivers are. So, I tend to "defend" other racers by attempting knock out the bad seeds. This has worked, but sometimes it just turns into a great big mess (usually on the big tracks where catchup wins races).

Don't really agree on that. I can pretty much tell when someone hits me by accident/part of the race or trying to run me off the road.

Therefor I don't do anything unless I notice somebody is intentially going for it.

You can't tell that easily. I mean sure.. The guy that jumps over a full lane just to smash you is obvious. But when turning or racing tight LAG can play a huge factor that you won't even be able to tell. You just see the car wreck you and thats it. Even tho on his screen he did not touch you, but on yours it seems like a intentional wipe.

Some people don't lag that much.. So its not that easy to to tell.. Thats where a mic comes in handy to explain what happened.
