GTA V. SA wins as far as map design though IMO.

I disagree, I preferred V's map design a lot more, but yeah, V > SA.

As much as I hate SA now I have to say SA was much better than V. Sure it got old in a bad way and it's almost unplayable for me, but back in the days I could play it all day long completing it five times. I did it twice with V and I can't get back there.

And as much as CJ was whining bitch's bitch doing ridiculous written missions for everybody he was at least a bit interesting. And his story, how stupid it was at least had an ending.

I have an emotional attachment with GTA SA but it's not the same game anymore for me, since a long time ago I figured out that almost all the mysteries were fake or mods, those were one of the bigger reasons that I liked it. You can mod the entire game on PC though, wich prolongs the fun.

I prefer SA's map and feels, V's map at Trailer 1 felt just like the good ol' SA but at the end it was a very different thing, V's map feels too urbanized everywhere.

In gameplay I have to say that SA is easier, you won't fall like an idiot trying to climb the mountains on foot like in V, it's a f*cking nightmare, even with Buggys, Blazers and Sanchez. GTA V's map is bigger, but SA has bigger forests, bigger deserts and more cities, wich is far more interesting in my opinion, there was a good balance between them, V has a big city but outside it's just rocks, mountains, few trees and a joke of a desert.

Rain and fog are creepier in SA, but the storms with thunderbolts in V are fantastic.

I think I prefer SA's story, you felt like you gained something, building an empire, helping your gang to get big again and all that, with characters like The Truth, Woozie, Mike Toreno, Sweet, Ryder, Smoke, Frank Tenpenny, most of them characters that you actually cared about... I did, more than Dave, Tanisha, Denise, Stretch, Wei Cheng, Devin Weston.

I don't even use CJ anymore, just skin mods, even a Trevor skin mod.

But it's still very balanced for me, I don't know wich one is better.

San Andreas > LIFE.

But seriously, San Andreas is my favorite video game, period. Nothing will ever top the memories and experiences i had with that game.

And it isn't just a nostalgia trip, because i still play it occasionally to this day on PC, modding it and the like.

Although i do really, really like V. Which is infinitely better than IV.

GTA SA reason

1. Gangs accually do what gangs go fight/kill each other when seened in other's terrority they also do random drive by on each other

2. Had mutiple cities to explore

3.GTA V Did not invest thier time in Franklin anything gang related everything is about heists stupid michaels family and etc Seriously GTA V had the worst story line ever and Gang Factions with dumber gang mechanics then GTA SA's

I love them both equally but for different reasons.

In terms of story, San Andreas was amazing, the plot went on and on (in a good way) and the dynamics and duplicities were excellent.

I loved the mystery of the map; the fact that it was unlocked as the game progressed and nosy people like me who swam across to the other islands (or stole an aircraft) for a sneaky peek were dealt with harshly.

The graphics though. Hmmmm.

Even for it's time the graphics were Loony Tunes Cartoon Time, so much so that when Carl is wasted I still expect Daffy Duck to pop up and announce: "That's All Folks!"

San Andreas was PACKED with content and safehouses but I simply could not stand cj and his gangsta story. GTA 5's Story and Protagonists absolutely destroy san andreas "hood" theme! Michael with his far higher intelligence and marksmanship would easily put cj and his 2 bit crew away in no time.

Now if GTA 5 single-player had the same content that online mode has there wouldn't even be any discussions about it!

I'm gonna keep this short and sweet.

GTA: San Andreas is MUCH better than GTA V by far in almost every way, except graphics and visual detail, it's not even questionable. SA wins easily, and that's a great achievement considering the game is 9 years older than V, and still manages to upstage V and put it to shame.

GTA V is better in every way IMO apart from not having multiple cities and as many interiors (both of those things are due to console limitations), GTA San Andreas is still my second favourite though.

Wasn't that Porky the Pig who said that?

Anyways, San Andreas is better right now because it has stood the test of time. I can better answer this question once V is 10 years old. :p

I'm gonna keep this short. This is real easy.

In terms of single-player content you are correct but cj could never touch the man in your avatar. Tommy could take out grove street by himself without a sweat.

Gta V By Quite A Distance

it has far more Enjoyable gameplay more Diverse missions a much better living breathing world which was also lot more Detailed and a better Story i mean i was not a huge fan of the Storyline In V But it was still far better written and made lot more Sense than the pile Of Crap Story San Andreas Had .

V Has its flaws but it is a far More Enjoyable game than San Andreas ever was IMO

Winner = V

If only rockstar hadn't gutted single-player content for that cursed "online" mode there would be no comparison!

A GTA SA hate thread. How fun. Why not make a Vice City hate thread about how tiny a map it has, how little there is to do in it compared to SA, and how overrated the story is...

Now I know that this is technically not a SA hate thread, but because of the IV fanboyism it will be used that way.

Lets talk about how awkward us whites felt playing as a black protagonist from a ghetto neighbourhood and how much we hated that.

*rolls eyes* V's single player was not gutted for GTAO. Both modes have things the other doesn't.

How bout purchasing safehouses for example - watch the official single-player gameplay video where it shows clear as day that dynasty 8 was originally usable in single-player but was obviously cut and made online only. Also item inventory and awesome military vehicles like the titan only available to purchase in online mode.

Geralt of Rivia

And what about people? They're lacking in Online, but not in SP.

And how about animals? SP only.

Story? Also SP only.

They both have exclusive things.

Different options for different modes. You're getting the content either way. Certain features make sense in one mode or the other. Think about it.

Apartments make sense in GTAO because of multiple residents. The main characters of SP already have homes. Would it hurt to add an extra one or two, no, but giving them tons of properties to choose from is just silly.

Having unique items in GTAO generates interest in playing it. Not only that but GTAO serves as sort of a testing ground for future SP changes or the next GTA.

Buyable safe houses were probably cut in SP after Rockstar realized how useless they are now that we have Quick Save, letting you save anywhere you want rather than a predetermined spot. They were nice back in San Andreas when you were going all over the place and could save your game easier by buying more properties, but the series seems to have evolved beyond that. The only use I'd see for them is vehicle storage, although we can already store a large amount of cars and planes across all 3 characters.

they should of put the gang style gameplay from san an and also the gambling on horses, san andreas had a lot of good little features I thought they would of added to V,instead we got yoga and no interiors or gambling.but I couldn't go back to playing san andreas now that the graphics are so good.

You are the most persistent troll I have ever seen. Squeal piggy...

It is a difficult comparrison. I have very fond memories of SA and it s a fantastic game without a doubt, but if I absolutely had to choose it would be V. And why would this be a hate thread? The matter is subjective but nobody can deny that SA is a gem of a game.

San Andreas and GTA V can't be really compared you know.

Storyline, better in San Andreas. In GTA V, too overrated & too many characters to remember and work with.

In terms of map, I always loved exploring the countryside and unlocking new places in San Andreas. But, GTA V doesn't have much to enjoy about map, except roaming ofcourse.

Graphics, certainly GTA V wins over here. San Andreas wasn't a HD universe.

Players are much better in GTA V. CJ was lazy and whinny at times.
