Does anyone actually still play this game?

I love playing this game on my PC sometimes, when I have nothing to do.

How about you?

Same here. Sometimes when I'm bored I fire up GTA2 and play it on the Industrial District :D

I started a new game about a week ago for the first time in almost 13 or 14 years and I'm loving it again! It's bringing back so many awesome memories of the days when I played nothing else but GTA2.

I still play this game a lot, actually speedrun it. :) My ultimate goal is to complete all districts 100% in under 6 hours someday!

Misbegotten cad

My brother unearthed his original PC version of this game, complete with the cardboad box, and, knowing I'm a big GTA fan, brought it to me.

Sadly, it did not work (on win 8), but I just got some patches for it, and will try it again this evening. Fingers crossed!

I fondly remember my kid brother playing this on PC ages ago. I recall it looked really cool with brill light effects. I did try it too, back then, but did not get too far... But if I get it to work now on my laptop, I swear I shall play it to the finish (even if I have to cheat a little!)

Once in a while I would pop it in the ps2 for an old thrill ride. I always love using the rude noise sound effect. :dontgetit:

Yes, I still play today.

Such a classic! I fancy a giggle at a lot of the lines and action along with the good old GTA fun, that it's impossible to forget and not come back.

Of course! I play it on PC and PS1 when i have nothing else to do. It was my first video game ever (I was about 5 years old when i got it on PS1) so it means a lot to me.

I haven't played GTA 2 in like 8 years.

Not really any fond memories of it to be honest, especially with where were are at nowadays with video games in general.

I still play these games, both GTA 1 and GTA 2. Although I haven't played 1 for a while, I've started playing GTA 2 again. Working for the gang you like..... was a pretty cool thing,

Exactly, playing GTA 2 gives so much fun that you don't feel like it's an old game. As my predecessor said although there isn't a map after a few missions you'll remember the map.

I used to have the GTA collection with GTA 1, 2 and London 69, but I lent it and never got it back.

It's been about 6 years since I played any of the top down GTAs. I would still play them from time to time if I still had them.

Rockstar gave out Grand Theft Auto and Grand Theft Auto 2 for free but you missed your chance.

I do... because I actually got into this pretty underrated GTA experience a couple of years ago, way past its time as a new title. I have a story of how that came about though:

I played GTA 2 around 2003 or so on both the Gameboy Color and PS1 but both versions gave me a negative impression of the game as a whole. Gameboy Color port is obvious of why it was terrible and I was not a big fan of the PS1 version since it seemed kind of sterile, compared to the 3D entries that I was used to at the time. Unbeknownst to me that the PC version was actually the proper version and playing it for the first time in 2012 I was blown away by how much more depth it had compared to the PS1 port I played. Even compared to the 3D entries I was introduced to in 2003, there are some aspects of it that are actually better than those titles. I enjoy the respect system which gave the game a true open feel and the atmosphere feels dark yet cheesy, almost like Death Race 2000 in a way with the dystopian future that has some odd quirks to it.

Oh, and I will never get enough of the Short Change song that plays in the menu... and one of the pedestrians yelling, "HE'S GOT A GUN!" It's wickedly amusing.

I never really enjoyed playing the first GTA, its controls and overall gameplay are uncomfortable to me.
But I'm still playing GTA 2, that game is just awesome.
