Things i hate about player created races and related features

so basically i just wanted to vent about things that are really frustrating me atm...

-ones that are designed to be almost impossible, to the point where the winner is ALWAYS the creator

-unnecessary and frequent large ramps. (small and medium ramps are ok if used correctly)

-jumps with barriers behind far enough back so they don't render until after you gone down past the side of the ramp

-randomly placed props 'just cos', especially when bang in the middle of the road

-impossible turns, i.e. ones just after an incline/dip/blind summit in the road (these can be fun and challenging if done correctly, but most on these ugc tracks are neither)

-badly placed checkpoints,

-'fast' 'LOADS OF MONEY!!!! RP!!!!!!!' 'BEST RACE EVA' titles

-no description,

-people using the rating/voting system to rate/vote their experience of the race rather than the track itself "well i crashed at the first corner so im disliking it" or "i won, i like"

-no way of choosing to jump to a high rated job

-social club job search doesn't actually work, seriously this is a major problem, if it did work then i would actually use it after almost every race to leave a comment to either praise the creator for a good job, or tell them just how much it sucks and exactly why it sucks.

-air races. all of them. they are just clusterf*ckfests, basically, the person who is lucky enough to clear the first couple of coronas unscathed will win. this is where the ghost racing will be most useful.

-offroad/dirt tracks with supers enabled

these things really annoy me as there are a lot of really fun, challenging tracks out there, but even on the good days where the ratio of bad jobs to good jobs is as high as 1:1 it is still a slightly unenjoyable experience to go through to get play these good ones.

There should be a list of guidelines players must read before being allowed to publish created content.

Have you tried the approved tracks thread here. Most of the regulars here like trying to make well balanced tracks.

I rarely quick job ugc races as there are a lot of bad ones. Just read them and check the cp placement out on the map or see how many dislikes it has first and if it is not up to your standards don't play it.

Great advice above, if you like created races check out the pinned topics for your relative console.

Also agree on nearly all your points in your opening post lol :)

I'll say i'm guilty of hidden corners on some if my tracks but I didn't do the corkscrew at Laguna Seca right the first time either.

If I feel it's still to confusing after the first lap I'll change it but if you can do the track perfect on the first lap, replayability goes down imo.

A lot of great points though OP.

Yup...pretty standard thoughts there. Pretty much the reason my thread exists in the first place.

I don't actually get dropped into many user created maps when I quick race though. Strange.

You've invited me to a few. I normally just quit if it's anything jump related

i agree, it should be difficult to keep it challenging and stop it from being boring, it's just there are a lot of corners that are made actually impossible, where on the 3rd or 4th lap you're still overshooting it, hitting the wall/fence/barrier and crashing/spinning out or you stop early enough so that you're nowhere near the corner and someone goes into the back of you, which 9 times out of 10 works of benefiting the person going into the back of you.

Eh I dont mind jumps if they are done well. I even have a couple jump races. And a lot of those invites are not me doing it...just friend list taps. They hit a motherload when I join lol.
