I wonder which consoles do you think is a must have for your collection, if you are a collector that mean.

I mean all consoles from 1970s to 2014, From Atari, Nintendo and Sega to PlayStation and Xbox

So, which consoles do you think is the ones worth to have?

Definitly N64, and NES. Dare I say Dreamcast?

I have most the consoles starting with Atari, you can't really go wrong with having the real thing. They are all worth having if you can appreciate the classics.

I still have all my consoles over the years, all but two still works.

Atari 2600- Works. No games

Nintendo- Works. Plenty games

SNES- Works. Only 5 games

Sega Genises- Broken. Tried fixing, made it worse.

Nintendo 64- Works. Plenty games

Playstation- Works. One game. FF7

PS2- Loads up the menu. Plays no games.

Xbox(Halo edition)- Works. Plenty games.

Xbox 360(MW2 edition)- Works. Used for ISO GTAIV

Xbox 360 slim- Works. Use it every day.

I'd own most if I could but I'm poor so I only have a Wii, 360, and PS3 for now. Thankfully there's lots of old game downloads but would prefer the entire libraries from older consoles. At least the Wii can play any and all Gamecube games. Got stuck with a slim PS3 too so no real backwards compatibility there.

One I would like is the Vectrex just for the novelty of it. Seems the most odd out of the pre-NES systems.

PS1, PS2, PS3 and PS4.

I only say that as those are the consoles that I still have and still use from time to time and have had alot of fun and time spent on them.

None, because they can all be (or will be) emulated on a PC.

The only time a console is a "must have" is if you're into console exclusives with online multiplayer modes.

Just no. If you're into consoles, it's not just multiplayer games, it's single player games too. Have you even played a game like The Last of Us, or Uncharted, God Of War, inFamous? Amazing single player games.

Single player exclusives can be emulated at a later date without missing out, multiplayer games-- not so much, as many tend to die out fast. Besides that, emulators aren't exactly reliable when it comes to online gaming, except maybe ZSNES.

Playing emulated aint the same unless you never played them but then i gues you wont emulate it neither.

nes - snes - sega megadrive - ps1 till 4 - N64 - all gameboys till advance ( handheld ). I only got gameboy advance left so that really suck and ps3 but cant play gta 2 etc.

PS2. I would have to say my fondest gaming memories are from the PS2 era.

One christmas my mum bought me "Smackdown Here Comes The Pain" I played it for so long on that Christmas day, that my neck went completely stiff. Spent boxing day with a collar on.

Good times.

I remember playing Smackdown vs Raw too, I can't remember the name but I think it was the one before here comes the pain or after. But that game was so good it done justice to the wrestling entertainment!

I prefer consoles

You don't have to install the games (never min XONE, X360 PS3 and PS4)

If you don't have a alot of space in the PC you have to delete the game that took forever to install in the first place, with PS2/PS1 for exemple you can just buy a new memory card for $10.

And it's nice to just sit down in the sofa with a coke and a controller in your hands.

Then it's not realy the same thing to play Super Mario Bros on a PC, NES realy is the way to go..

Not to start a PC/console war but I hope you know what I mean!

You're right, it's not the same-- it's usually better. You can upscale all your PS2/Gamecube/Wii games to look far better than they ever could on the real thing, save whenever you want with save states, and fast forward through what would normally be unskippable/slow segments.
