chronic lumbago
Nier Automata. I played so many games but nothing beats Automata. It flows so naturally together with the gameplay and story. The game itself is a perfect package with a perfectly fitting soundtrack. There are several versions of the tracks in the game. It even includes 8 bit versions of almost every track in a certain gameplay aspect. Most tracks have the following options in the in-game jukebox and dynamically change during gameplay [Quiet - Medium - Dynamic - 8 bit - Vocals/No Vocals] Hearing this again almost makes me cry. This played through proobably the darkest moment in the entire game: https://youtube.com/watch?v=hpDlQHOtGoM Make sure you listen to it more than 3 seconds. One of my favorite tracks, though I couldn't find the no vocals version I have goosebumps even when I just think about this track. It's beautiful. luisniko
There are tons of video games that feature real life songs and introduced me to the great ones or alternative version of the one I've listened to. These are Fallout4, GTA series, Mafia3, and Saints Row (especially IV). But there are tons others that the game developer's composer wrote themselves that made me hum like an idiot for more than 2 decades, especially during those boring nightmare school days. These are coming from, but not limited to Harvest Moon, Pokemon, Monster Rancher, Dynasty/Samurai Warriors, FFV, VI, X, Soulsborne, and Toukiden. Richard Power Colt
Been jamming some of the music from this game recently: https://youtube.com/watch?v=oOdIKi8sDmI This song only actually has a male version in the soundtrack which isn't as good imo, the one in the video is kind of an extended version mixed with parts of the ingame version and some of the instrumental parts from the soundtrack version: https://youtube.com/watch?v=ahHW2yotVh8 Edited June 19, 2017 by Richard Power Colt Actlikeyouknow
Tycek
List as such is not complete without Dying Light. In my opinion Pawel Blaszczak - composer of the soundtrack perfectly caught the vibe of the early John Carptenter's work as used in Escape in New York. Dying Light in very similar in terms of atmosphere to the aforementioned movie and the OST emphasize this even more. Actlikeyouknow

Actlikeyouknow
Suicide Mission from Mass Effect 2 is probably my favorite. This game was a ride right until the end. This is probably my favorite "finale" music peace of all time. Also Leaving Earth is such a well made introduction track to Mass Effect 3, I just have to put it in. chronic lumbago
It's still a fresh game but Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice sound design is unlike anything I've played before. When wearing decent headphones, the game uses sounds in 3D to imitate a real psychosis and voices constantly whisper in your ears from all sides. Not only that, the soundtrack is also incredible and very atmospheric. Edited August 14, 2017 by fashion
