If they accept you, they do, if they don't: they don't. I don't see a problem here.

If you're asking for advice on how to lie on an application then I've got nothing for you, pal.

No. Im asking if the background check really checks that kind of thing. And anyone whos had a background check while getting a job offer from SYSCO might have some insight to the specifics of the check. I dont k.ow what to expect. Ive never failed a BG check before. And not havibg ny diploma (although lying saying i did) has never been checked into

So you're lying about having a qualification, effectively?

Warehouse work?

I highly doubt they'll give a tit if you have a Diploma or GED, Since when did you need your Grade 12 for moving Boxes around?

lol

Good Luck though.

Just so we're clear guys. I didn't graduate HS. I've ALWAYS lied about not having one. On every application and interview ive always stated confidently that I DO have a diploma. And it's never been checked, They've always taken my word for it.

Im just worried that this is the ONE place that might check it. But we will see once I receive the BAckground check. I have to initiate and fil out the BG check myself. So I will have the specifics about what they do when I get it. I'll keep you guys updated with how it goes.

Ive always been proficient in computers and math and reading ETC and have never been effected by NOT having a diploma.

This job is easy. Read a wrist computer that tells you how many items need to be pulled. Where to find them. Then I go and pull the boxes. Stack them nice and neat. And be fast about it.

I could be reTARDED and still do this job.

I wish I would have finished those 15 credits back in my senior year. I really dropped out at the last minute.

Fingers crossed guys. Thanks for your SUPPORT (or lcktherof).

As what I hope for. Thank you man for the good wishes. ^^ There ARE decent people here!

Don't get me wrong, I wish you luck man, I'm just pondering how the hell you could possibly find employment despite lying about a qualification... I mean, from a business perspective, that's just a sh*tty HR department at play.

In which case, I sincerely hope you once again fool the schmucks behind the desk and get the job, OP! :p

Thank you. I appreciate that.

Ive been able to get by because all of my previous work XP has been minimum wage jobs.

Idk what the standards are or how much they vary going from working in the kitchen of a senior living center, To a full time $15 hr job look like.

But I really hope I continue to fly under the radar on this one.

If all else fails ill try my best to get in a startup company flying Quadcopters. Line inspections, bridge inspections,

Providing fast and needed eyes in a disaster situation, And go where no man can safely go within the first few hours of T-Time.

I can pilot a quad copter. FPV and hopefully get in with this startup company near me.

That would be very unexpected and crazy!

SYSCO is a food service supplier, there is nothing sensitive in their warehouse. However, they probably want to make sure (just like any other company) that you are not a felon and have never been charged with theft (most warehouses check on that). I doubt they will check on your high school diploma, but you never know. Those are the risks you run when you live a lie.

I've dealt with lots of sysco reps and drivers in the past at a previous job and most of the drivers are scumbags, so I wouldnt worry too much.

I can't think of any jobs that actually check the Highschool for a diploma. College, yes of course. Criminal, yes. Even credit background checks, yeah. It's a waste of HR's time for highshool. EDIT - Maybe America treats it more casually.

OP - Goodluck, I'm really interested in how this turns out. Good Luck!

It's probably just a criminal record check. Unless you're going for a management or more complex job I doubt they'll care about whether you finished high school or not.

They might catch it on their background check. But it wouldn't have been an issue IF you didn't lie on your app. You still probably could have gotten the job without a Diploma but most companies son't like it when people lie about qualifications and even if you get the job you still could get fired if they find out you lied. But i'm not 100% sure. I wish you luck man.

I'm sure backgroubd checks cover criminal offenses mainly, but if you got a G.E.D you'll be fine. It's the same thing, only a diploma means you didn't have a hectic teen life.

Guys, 70 hours a week isnt uncommon for a job for people in the US. Americans are the most money obsessive workaholics in the world

Congrats man and good luck to you. So im guessing the GED thing wasnt an issue?

At my old job I worked 54 hours a week and it was f*cking awful. Maybe it's my work ethic that's awful, who knows.

Well 40 hours a week is the standard and then they pay you time and a half after that. I personally would never work anything more than 45 hours a week and prefferably 30-35 hours but some people are just super money hungry and work mind bending hours.

Great news man.

Good on you for getting gainful work with the economy in its current state. 70 hours a week sounds like hell, but I presume that you'll be able to work out a better deal once you've climbed the ladder a little.

Yet the people that do the least amount of work get the most of the money. It's ridiculous. Americans are practically brainwashed into believing that hard work is a virtue. It's not. Smart work is a virtue. Sometimes that requires working hard. Most of the time it doesn't. Most of the time working hard makes you a gullible underpaid idiot. It' no wonder that everybody is on anti-depressants and in therapy.

Very nice pay for starting out. Make sure to reserve your energy as much as possible, extended hours have a way of creeping up and making your body feel like complete sh*t. :^: Hope the job works out for you.
