Tanks not paying insurance. community is at fault

All the whining about tanks not paying insurance is fruitless. Its the community's fault. If you all didnt run your chradders under afk or peaceful tanks just to grief them with insurance and bad sport points they would still pay for insurance. Its nobodys fault but the asshats who did this. Now rockstar has it so that a stationary tank pays no insurance and yes its exploited but nobody is to blame but asshats

People driving cars into the tanks is a kind of douchebaggy move but 99% of the time the twanker would have deserved.Making tanks immune to paying insurance is a thousand times worse than someone driving their car into a tank.And that is a fact.

I find it hard to believe that they can't code the cannons separately, what they probably did was just prevent tanks from paying insurance if they weren't moving, forgetting about the cannons. I would rather that there were less tanks in servers due to people not wanting to enter bad sport, than just let tanks destroy anything they want without paying insurance.

I agree with InfamousRyan,if people didn't ran their chradders into the tanks R* won't possibly buff the tank.What if a guy just want to cruise around in a tank(just cruising in peace)and some random asshat come around the corner hitting your tank and take out 12k from his wallet.Then a lot of people will complain and R* have to do what they had to do.

Can't argue with this and might I say, it is a wonderful loophole. As a peaceful tank user, I find it impossible to fight the urge to occasionally put on the handbrake and blast whichever fool is trying to roll up on me, with scant regard for the well-being of their PV.

 

I've never understood why a car explodes when it rams into a tank, yet you can ram your car into a wall and only dent it. Seems a bit stupid to me.

sorry am30. you cant blame the players for grinding rr. rockstar should have balanced the missions better. almost every mission is crap or the payout just isnt worth the effort. unless you want to run out and buy cash cards to pay your bills on time, call your mechanic or buy in game items.

 

dont know about you guys but i dont play video games for that kind of realism. it would be funny (pretty sad actually) if you got kicked out of your apartment and lost access to your cars until you paid your bills.

 

seriously stop creating topics to cry about tanks. put it in passive, change sessions, rank up and buy your own. tanks only kill me when i let them. its only fair, ive killed thousands of players in a tank, so i should let them kill me every once in awhile. i actually enjoy running around in passive while some angry twanker desperately tries to run me over while talking smack.

Don't care about it really, everyone should have a decent amount of money. But you still do have to pay, its just players just learned how not to. If anything they need to make it where jets can blow up PV's, not so much of the insurance but the bad sport needs to be removed. Everyone drives in a PV, so did R* expect players just to fly around casually in a jet & not blow a few people up.

It happens all the time. It happens when I am in a tank. It happens when most of my friends are in a tank. And I see it probably 25% of the time with random strangers in a tank.

 

And I agree with the OP.

While I don't think the tanks should be allowed to destroy personal vehicles without paying, there is no doubt in my mind that this is the sole cause of bad sport players ramming their cars into tanks. They were no better than the tank griefers.

Yes, remember at the time you would have to pay $2k for every death? That was awful! Now it's just a few hundred I believe.

If your personal vehicle is destroyed by another player, NO ONE pays the premium. Doesn't matter how they destroy it, gun fire, sticky bomb, tank. Now if you wreck your own car or it gets shot to pieces by NPC's yeah you pay the premium because its almost certainly your fault. But the whole idea of paying the insurance cost for destroying someone else's vehicle is bogus it doesn't work its a failed system.

How does that even make sense that if you're foolish with your vehicle you have to pay, but if another player is equally foolish nobody pays?

 

It's part of a check and balance system against unskilled and uncreative players who's go-to option to either kill or grief is to blow up another player's PV. Even if no one pays for the insurance, having to waste time calling to retrieve a vehicle IS an inconvenience if only a minor one, and a waste of time if it becomes a regular occurrence.

peoples main issue is with tank griefers being able to transfer all their money to their second character so that they don't have to pay, we see this as an this is an exploit, i believe that if you can share a bank account between characters, then one character should pay for the other character's crimes if they're broke.
