Noswald
when i'm playing singleplayer just to roam around and blow stuff up (i finished the game and have nothing else to do) Whenever i run the camera angle keeps panning to my right and if i keep running it eventually pans full circle. So is this a recurring problem or is my controller busted? Midnightz
Detective Phelps
Check your controller.
Sami Uso
Yeah, I had the same problem. Turns out my right stick was messed up from wear and tear over the years, so I bought a brand new controller.. Looks like you're gonna have to buy a new controller like I did if you wanna fix this problem.
Midnightz
Hmm, switching controllers didn't help for me. Gosh it's annoying.
OnyxRequinox
Your controller is "Coasting", if you have a kit to open up your controller you could fix this problem, but if you don't then I have no idea what to tell you.

chrisscorsese88
If you have any sort of warranty, take it to them first! If not, carefully take off the cover and inspect where the right analog stick is. Don't touch anything unless you're sure it won't screw up the controller any more. If you tried everything you can think of, and nothing works, you'll be forced to buy a new controller. Before doing anything though, make sure there's actually a problem with the controller (batteries are good if it's wireless, cord is good if it's wired, etc.) and to make sure the stick isn't held in any direction before it's turned on. chrisscorsese88
You might need to use force, but don't try too hard if you think you're going to break it.
Midnightz
And opening the controller will show what to fix exactly? Is it even repairable without new parts etc.?
~Tiger~
Whenever i run the camera angle keeps panning to my right and if i keep running it eventually pans full circle. So is this a recurring problem or is my controller busted? There are two fundamental fault finding situations that need to be addressed: 1) Is the controller wireless? If so, an outside electromagnetic field may be affecting the controllers RF signal to the console. 2) A simple test would be to borrow a friends controller and try using it on the OP's GTAV game and console. If the friends controller does not replicate the fault, then the OP's controller is indeed faulty and needs to be replaced. Midnightz
Well, *cough* three XBOX controllers later and indeed, I have discovered both original ones are faulty controllers (have right joystick coasting). It's only noticeable in GTA V (not other games) because of the sensitivity in the camera control.
Noswald
okay before i dismantle my controller with a likely possibility it would get worse somehow, what exactly am i looking for?
Antuan the Swan
Well, *cough* three XBOX controllers later and indeed, I have discovered both original ones are faulty controllers (have right joystick coasting). It's only noticeable in GTA V (not other games) because of the sensitivity in the camera control. If your « Dead Zone » setting (under controller) is all the way down, your camera angle will always be moving.
Craylin
If all else fails give your controller a good smack on the side the stick is on, worked for me. (I am not responsible for you hitting your controller to hard and breaking it.)
Lukag833
My camera angle moves automatically when I use my new controller, but when I use the old one it is normal.
