Rockstar Social Club App (Android)

If it's from Rockstar, it's free and under their name.

Okay then it's unofficial. Is it a great app though ? According to the pictures it looks complete.

Seems like a good idea, but charging $2 for a free service isn't. And I think they don't have permission to make money off their website either.

Yeah that's why I'm asking if anybody bought it yet. It looks great. Even Online stats are displayed.

Hmmm. Maybe I should give it a try ?

There's a link to the social club on the ifruit app, and you can still access the website in your browser.

I wouldn't try it. It's charging money for free service, without permission probably too, and it can be a scam.

If the site is free, the iFruit app is free, why should we have to pay for an app to access it but mobile friendly?

Another thing I mentioned: It's not from Rockstar. They're using their website, their service, their name to make money for themselves.

And if I'm not mistaken, they trademarked "Social Club".

Anyway this app smells fishy, so don't pay for it.

Exactly what Franceska said and You don't even own the app so how can you know? Besides all you have to do is open the iFruit app and tap the "Social Club" symbol don't be lazy dude.

It's probably just another app using that name and a picture and when you download it, It's nothing but a picture it's just a way for people to comit fraud and get people to pay $2 for an app because it has the R* name and know people will be dumb enough to pay the money for it.

I wouldn't buy the crap.

Doubt they have permission to use R* services.

Also forgot to mention this is a very good way to get hacked too because you will give the owner of that device all the infomation he needs to hack into your social club and could possibly get ahold of other accounts if you use the same password including bank accounts, your PSN and other accounts.

I messaged Brian B about this app. Those 5 star ratings seem fake. You know, most people have family buying their apps and never use it but give 5 star rating anyway.

I also sent a msg and an e-mail.

Yeah they are they have 4 "Awesome ratings" and 1 "Sucky" rating

It's something i would do to get my app noticed and get people to buy it too.

That one sucky rating is a legit one.

I recommend EVERYONE reading this not to buy this app if you value your details!!

Thanks for all these messages. To answer quickly, I don't have the iFruit app, so that's why I was asking about this one.
At least, this post helped to find out that this is a fake scam app.

I wouldn't say it's a scam yet. I and Cobra are currently busy contacting Rockstar about it. I'll get back with more information. :)

It might be official. They also made a Life Invader app. If they weren't real, R* would have told them to delete it from the PLAY store.

It probably works quite well, but if you got an android phone the website works fine and is free.

I don't get why everything needs an app these days, you can get the full and mobile versions (in most cases) of a website on your phone.

I recommend just using Social Club in your browser.

I'm using a Galaxy S4 and I can view all content on social club just fine in Chrome.

Maybe R* is not already aware about the existence of those app...

It's not official. Any major company out there will use their own developer account for things as this to get more people aware of it. It's just a developer who has some free time and skills, but for what purpose? Legit? Or scam?

This app has access to these permissions:

Network communication
full network access
view network connections
Phone calls
read phone status and identity
System tools
install shortcuts

The developer's website consists of... just their logo. Nothing more.

Very sketchy. Who charges for a BETA version of an app?

Or someone could be really kind and make a social club app that displays the stats in offline mode (Meaning it won't update until you connect to and internet access point but will still display) for 25$. But lets face, no one is that nice.
