ManInBlack
Say.."lol" and "cool story bro"? There is a thread pinned about SPAM, and individuals including myself have been warned or banned for posting comments like that....Yet i click on a thread and see a forum leader telling a poster, "cool story bro"...Shouldnt we all abide and have to follow the same rules? here is one example: http://gtaforums.com/topic/705074-support-forums-very-funny-today/?do=findComment&comment=1065285623 Edited April 29, 2014 by ManInBlack
Andreas
It makes a difference if you simply post "cool story bro", or if it's a forum leader who does it when locking a topic. An explanation as to why a topic gets locked isn't always required. Let's be honest here: how often does it happen that a staff member makes a post of that sort? Not frequently, really. ManInBlack
i understand that, but if i go right now and post "cool story bro"..i will get a warning or get a 3 day ban...Same rules should apply for everyone though, if a normal user would get a warning so should a forum leader... Mr. House
i understand that, but if i go right now and post "cool story bro"..i will get a warning or get a 3 day ban... They probably do it specifically to annoy you, a worthy goal in my opinion. Edited April 29, 2014 by Myron Coin and GN 92

Sentrion
Staff members post reasons/posts like that when there's a no need to reply to a topic, when you can just simply use common sense and deduce why your topic was locked. There's a reason why they are Staff/Mod. You rarely find staff members with posts like those. In your linked thread, that had nothing to do with the GTA:O section, a simple useless rant. Raavi
We aren't robots, we all have a little harmless fun every once in a blue moon. It's done upon locking posts, there is no harm in that. Lighten up a bit. no offense but thats an excuse...something posters here arent allowed to use when they do something wrong....i 1000000% agree there is no harm in posting LOL, or cool story bro, So why are people getting banned and warned, if its harmless fun? Don't you agree that if we aren't allowed to post things like that, then forum leaders shouldnt be allowed as well? Just seems when forum leaders do this its Harmless..When users do it there banned/warned and its not harmless fun, its SPAM, even though they said the same exact thing Edited April 29, 2014 by ManInBlack
Andreas
People usually get away with making these posts if they don't go overboard with it, unless they have bad luck and receive a reminder for it. And that's the thing here. People do go overboard with it in the GTA Online forum, from what I've seen. There is no harm in doing it here and there, once or maybe twice in a month, but it's a problem when it becomes a habit of yours. The topic was really pointless, so I don't see what's the problem here. It would be an entirely different story if it was a topic where much effort was put into the opening post. ManInBlack
while i get what your saying, i think you have missed my point....Spam is Spam, no matter who says it...If, "cool story bro" is considered spam, than the USERNAME from whom it was said shouldn't matter nor should how relevant the topic is...If i post spam on a less than worthy thread, my comment is looked at the same as if it was in a "good" thread... I just find it hard to enforce rules when the people who should be enforcing them are engaging in the exact thing there banning/warning people for..Doesnt set a good example...That would be like me smoking a cig then getting mad at my son for doing it and punishing him..How can i punish him for something i engage in? do u see where im coming from now? ManInBlack
i just dont see how when a forum leader does it, its harmless fun and cheeky....but when a user post's the same thing he is warned or banned? Doesnt make sense, all i see are alot of excuses as to why its ok for the forum leaders to not follow the same rules they tell us to follow...You're telling people to follow rules that you laugh at and make a mockery of, when you yourself's break them...just look at the response's, it's taken as a complete joke...Wish it was viewed that way when us users post the same thing Edited April 29, 2014 by ManInBlack
