Co-Op Campaign in GTA VI

Franceska

By answering this poll you allow me to send the results to Rockstar Games while proposing the idea to them.

  1. 1. Would you be interested in a Co-Op Campaign for VI?

Recommended Posts

Re-added the poll, since apparently it was removed last time for unknown reason.

This idea is sort-of from Saints Row, but in GTA style.

You play as the protagonist of the story in VI, but when in Co-Op mode, your friend will be his or her Online character.

You don't rank up, you can buy stuff from Story Mode, but you can't bring them in Online.

Seeing as the current GTAO takes place six months before GTA5, and if GTA 6 takes place in another place, while staying in San Andreas, your character has build up a reputation that, basically enough to get you recommended as aid.

Obviously all the features from Single Player count for the Online character too and you can't kill the "Host" (unless Friendly Fire is on, you have to pay for their hospital bill, much like if you kill Franklin with Trevor or Michael, or kill Trevor as Franklin or Michael, or kill Michael as Franklin or Trevor).

Since Rockstar wants Online to be alive for long time, it's most likely carried over to VI as well.

This would give Online a role again in VI, and adding a nice new feature.

As some of you might know, you can do the campaign together in Saints Row IV. It's completely the same, except with a friend.

Imagine in GTA VI, you have the ability to customize and sort-of pick your own character with their own story and your friend is helping you in the Co-Op using his own character (Like Saints Row)

This would make for some interesting aspects and a nice change in GTA.

Would you like it if such feature came true in GTA VI?

For those complaining, Yes it does.

Grand Theft Auto Online will most likely carry over to GTA VI as well, and it would be awesome to use your GTAO character for the co-op character.

EDIT: Re-added poll again.

Yes. If I could invite people to my single-player, I'd never play online (assuming all play options and opportunities are the same - which they aren't... fukking R* chops the game up into 25 mini-games).

co-up would be cool i always thought they would have progressed and made it better after san andreas but instead they compltetly got rid of it :/

the other thing i wish they didn't take out was making you character fat/buff and NOS but lest be real GTA 5 with NOS would be bad on ps3 or xbox since my super car is already so fast the map cant load things in time.

That's R* problem, not the console. It wasn't a problem in SA or BoGT.

I'd imagine this would be much more trouble than it's worth. It's a nice idea in theory but just doesn't work for me.

I really don't understand why we couldn't have 2-3

player co-op in GTA V when we have 3 characters at our disposal

We don't know anything about VI yet, so it's too soon to say it's too much trouble. :)

Pre-release when it was revealed that there were multiple protagonists, I was hoping that co-op would be a possibility. When it came to light that it wasn't, I was a tad disappointed. Co-op increases the enjoyment and longevity of games for me immensely, and I'd love for some form of it to be included in the next GTA. I didn't even like SR3 all that much but I did manage to get around 80 hours worth of gametime due to the co-op (and the character creator, but that's another subject).

Hell, I'd even be satisfied with split screen, but then again, I don't see that happening anytime soon.

Yea i do like that idea but i think that gta vi should have a male and female protagonists which would certainly make things very interesting or they can make the next GTA campaign like online with a better plot and story.

I want the Red Dead Redemption sequel to be co-op. And as far as GTA VI being co-op, that does seem to be the direction R* is headed. Even though that's what GTA online is for.

It could be done if Rockstar would take the time to do this properly. It can also be incorporated with Online. So you could use your online character as co-op character, and the "Host" is just the SP character.

No. I rather have it as a 1 player experience.

I do hope it has Co-Op free roam (like in SA)

Also, I hope VI has only one protag.

Mercenaries 2, Had a co-op and I used to play with random people in their missions to help them finish story mode, Was different and intresting.

Not create your own sp character. I'm down for something like one player controls franklin and another Michael.

We're talking about VI here. No way they would re-use Michael, Trevor or Franklin as a playable character seeing as the ending provides you with an option that can go all f*cked up in the next game. (No spoilers for those who haven't finished it yet, though)

Lol only using them as an example if VI had three characters again.

If the story doesn't suck like V's did, then yes I would really enjoy it.

GTA VI?

What's wrong with GTA V? I'd happily play all the campaign again in co-op.

There is nothing wrong with V. It's impossible now post-release to announce a feature like that. IF it will be made for V, which is very doubtful, it will be a Paid DLC for sure.

I'm surprised how many people went with yes.

I did also.

This is one feature from Saints Row that I do think would fit into GTA nicely.

I wouldn't want too much SR influence in GTA though, I like the fact that GTA is based slightly more in reality.

This has nothing to do with the current state of GTA Online

Ciaran and I already discussed about this.

I would love it too. Especially if we can do it with our GTAO Character.

When you are invited to the Co-Op session, you get the question if you want to make a new character, or use one of the main character(s), or use your GTAO character.

When you pick for the GTAO one, the weapons and such carry over to SP, but not to Online.

So, say, you buy a Tazer in offline, you won't be able to bring it back to Online.

Its still way too early for gta vi,you are looking at about 3 years at least before the game is even confirmed

Still doesn't mean we can show them some interest in a feature before it's even close to release, once it has enough interest, I can send them, like I said, an email, and tell Brian B personally about it.

Then there is a very, very, very small chance they look into it.

I'm indifferent about it.
I wouldn't mind if a co-op existed but I personally wouldn't bother with it.

Co-op kills the whole point of a story mode/campaign and that is immersion. You can have tons of fun when paired with a friend or two, SURE, but it distracts you from the whole story.
