Bored? Go grind the crack.

Spent many hours in free roam doing this folks. It may sound boring on paper but give it a try and you'll thank me later.

First, you might want to go on top of mount Chilead to practice yourself for an hour or two. On the south facing side of the mountain you'll find a pole with red ribbons tied around it. This is your jump spot.

The goal is to jump off at this point, then dive all the way down to the base of the mountain without deploying your parachute AND without hitting the side of the mountain. You can ALMOST make it to the small airport to the left of this jump spot which makes for an easy way back up the mountain.... assuming of course you make the jump. Failure will cost you dearly.

Once you're able to make it a decent distance down the mountain invite some friends and have some impromptu races! It's a lot of fun! Make sure one guy is on rescue mission for those that don't make it down the mountain so he can fly with a chopper and pick up people stuck on the mountainside and take turns as the "rescuer". :)

We had a lot of funny rescue missions that actually make this a lot of fun.

TIP: Push the left analogue stick forward once you've jumped and don't let go! If you let go you stop going forward and you start falling straight down. Also, if you push TOO far forward you'll start going into a dive that's too steep and lose a lot of distance so practice! IE: Press forward, but not too much!

Ultimately once you've got this down you can jump from the top of mount chilead and make it to the bottom on a main road without deploying your chute until you're meters above the road. On the north side of the mountain I can jump from the top and make it to the ocean without deploying my chute at all! It's really exhilarating!

Thank you for this post, that seems like good fun. I had a bad feeling that this would be another grinding missions thread. I'm glad I was wrong.

You grind that crack, OP. Grind it hard.

I think someone just posted about this yesterday, I believe in the list of fun things to do?

I want to find a bridge or something to try and "Corliss" this idea up a bit and 'squirrel suit' through a small hole in or under a bridge.

You reminded me this...

Because that is exactly what you'll be doing if you try what I'm suggesting. (not kidding)

I want to find a bridge or something to try and "Corliss" this idea up a bit and 'squirrel suit' through a small hole in or under a bridge.

Mount Chilead offers the highest peak you can do this from, thus you get the longest amount of flight time. However, I had Jeb Corliss moments last night when I was flying a few meters above ground for several seconds. It was one of those hold your breath moments, definitely cool.

However there is a train bridge that crosses over two mountains near Mount Chilead you could do what you're suggesting but the jump probably won't be as long.

I use parachute missions to teleport me and usually I take an objective and don't open the parachute until a few meters from the floor, it's relaxing. :)

Why do people make incredibly long posts about basically nothing and expect people to read and reply??

I did that with the ex-gf, she liked it

I won't lie it's a lot of fun playing the rescue guy. A lot of hilarious sh*t happens.

This is a good idea. I'm gonna try this tonight.

If I make a video I'll give you credit.

This has more to do with your short attention span than with long posts..

Sry, i don't like being a dick but come on.. it's not even that long.. stop trolling.

OT: I'm absolutely obsessed with wingsuit basejumping / proximity flying, this was one of the first thing i did in GTAV.

And since day 1 i've spent most of my time in the mallard, trying to fly as low as possible without crashing... it never ever gets old.

It's a shame we don't have the suits.. but at least it's possible :)

Yeah what's odd though is on one of my jumps when I landed at the bottom I saw two guys (NPC's) standing there that looked like they both had wingsuits on.

here's three routes I'm going to attempt, the jump south leads under the bridge which might be a bit far but I'm up for a challenge.

I wish there was an actual suit to wear that would emphasise this effect. Once you learn it its pretty easy to cover ground I just wish I had a little more control in terms of steering while moving laterally.

Yeah moving left to right will reduce your distance overall. When I jump the south side, I'm able to cross over the left ridge so that I can land close to the airport (It's pretty hard honestly).

On the west side of the mountain where the lift is you can make it a fair distance down but I wasn't able to reach the beach like I thought i'd be able to.

On the north side of the mountain is the EASIEST spot to practice. Look for a trail that goes down to a jump spot. From there you can glide all the way to the ocean if you do it right. There's two peninsula's left and right too that you can land on if you go far enough.

The absolute hardest spot to jump from though is the very top where the observational deck is. If you go north from there you'll find the northern jump spot but right before there is a drop. I'm unable to make my character jump into the parachute pose reliably there though so I've only successfully made it once but it was incredible. I was inches from the ground by the time my forward momentum took over.

I've been wingsuit flying for about 3 months now, and friends of mine (including myself) managed to glitch into the content creator parachute mode, and we've made parachute jobs that have checkpoints all set really close to the mountain-side or other areas of interest.

I already have compiled a full playlist of custom wingsuit jumps located here: http://gtaforums.com/topic/700448-gta-online-parachute-creator-really-can-and-should-be-released-heres-why/

If you're really into wingsuit flying, I'd suggest you look at that playlist and try it because it allows you to wingsuit without interruption over and over again. No having to fly a helicopter back up the mountain or anything, just wait 10 seconds for it to load the next job, and away you go.

I'm also amazed at how much interest this is getting on the general forums, but my playlist link has been dead forever because it's sitting in the never-active content creator section.

I've created a custom parachute job that has a line extremely identical to the one that curves south-east called East Bound and Down. It has 156 plays with 128 upvotes and 8 downvotes (im guessing those 8 couldn't wingsuit very well :p) check it out here: http://rsg.ms/R9U9Z7

I wish we had your playlist on 360. I'd love to try it.

Yeah i checked what jobs they have made on 360 and there's only bout 21 custom parachute jobs, i guess they didn't figure out the glitch fast enough (its already been patched for both consoles).

PS3 has 71 jobs made, and that playlist includes the best of the best of those 71 jobs.

But keep your head up, eventually parachute creator will get released, even though many of us on the PS3 side have proven that it could be released today without any problems (since we managed to make such good jobs even with a glitchy creator).

That's quite cool. Xbox player here unfortunately but I think I may know a way around those problems. GTA Race with no cars starting at the top with restricted weapons. You'd have to make it a two checkpoint race though, if you can even do that...

Pretty much completely unrelated, but what I like to do is find somebody with a mic, get a helicopter and go off radar, then fall to my death right in front of them to hear their reaction. One time I fell right onto a guy's car who was driving really fast. Hit his windshield perfectly too. The guy's reaction was great. He couldn't finish a sentence for like 30 seconds after that.

I wonder what top speed is when you hit the sweet spot. It's probably somewhere along the top speed of a sports car but just under the speed of a super. Be cool to test in a straight shot race. Sky diver vs comet or carbo.
