Where does the Canis Mesa spawn, and is it able to be stored/insured?

I wasn't aware of two types of the vehicle. Can they both be stored/insured?

They can both be stored, The normal Mesa i usually see around Alta st, The Merryweather Mesa you have to call in the mercs then kill them and steal theirs . If you look on the Rockstar social club site you can see both types the normal Mesa is in the SUV category and the Merryweather is in the Offroad

The normal version spawns pretty much. You can find it when driving any car on the way to the docks. Mainly from the underground LSC (under the bridge) all the way to the intersection, where you turn for the docks. I'm not good at explaining, but hope you got the picture. But aside of that route, you can find it pretty elsewhere, it's not that rare.

The MW Messa is only in some missions and when you call MW guys on someone.

Storable should be both version.

For the Merryweather Mesa, you can also get one from the Merryweather Gang Attack. If you take it to your garage or LS Customs, you can't add a tracker or store it. Now, if you take it to a blue marker and park it over it and start the job then immediately exit and turn the camera very slowly until it appears on your screen. It will then be able to be stored and insured. It works best with the Capture job that is close to the LC Customs on the east side of Los Santos.

Glitchd cageless mesa FTW!!!

0_0.jpg

Theres 3 main versions, all w either open or hard tops, making 6 varieties total
Normal, spawns everywhere
Mw, cage n bumpers n snorkle n big tires, be nearby when the mercs are called on someone, including yourself, then garage one, or employ some trickery to store em from gang attacks or possibly missions?
Cageless, big tires n bumpers, no cage or snorkel, save edit glitched then brought online, either dupe it off someone or bring it online your self, needs save editor and for ps3 a lagswitch.

I read somewhere that the Merryweather Mesas from missions were not storable anymore, but the ones from sending mercenaries through Merryweather were still storable.

Also, the Merryweather Mesa cannot be sold. I have not been able to find a method. Purchasing a vehicle and "replacing" it with the Merrryweather Mesa (via storing unstorable vehicles glitch) does not work either.

The Merryweather Mesa from the gang attack near the Fort can no longer be stored, nor can they be stored from missions.

However, they can be stored if someone calls them on you. I quite like the Merryweather version, I've never much cared for the non-Merryweather one. Love the spotlights on the Merryweather version. You can light up a block.

@smokingndriving Actually you can store the Merryweather Canis Mesa's from the Fort Zancudo gang attack. Finish the gang attack a drive it over a job and get out. You will immediately trigger the job. Exit the job and very slowly turn your camera until the vehicle is visible. It will now be able to have a tracker installed and insurance. Oh, and not forgetting you can store it. The job marker that works best for this in my opinion is the capture job north-east of the eastern LS Customs in Los Santos. The capture job is called "GTA: My Maibatsu". Its a long drive from the gang attack, but it is well worth it. I haven't tried other job markers yet, but I know that one works. :)

i wish they made it 4wd. I mean come on, it's one of the last remaining solid-axle 4x4 suv's out there today and they make it 2wd. They gotta be smoking some good sh*t.
