[III/VC] Adding font borders?

Recommended Posts

CharlesVercetti

Hello people!

Just came here to ask these.

1.Can the fonts of VC and III have the ability of adding font borders?

2.They normally have drop shadows,so is there a possibility of hacking the shadows to create that effect?

Thank you.

hi TCJ,

i didn't understand what do you mean by Borders actually,

for me & Game,

those fonts are different offsets of a image present in that Font TXD,

that are to be drawn for the particular value of Char, (i think i am confusing you here, ha ha ha )

I don't find any shadow in Fonts,

but it is drawn separately while drawing them on Screen,

The shadow here are Fonts itself, those are drawn again Darker & at slightly different Position,

So, Do you mean, making 'a' as something like

_

|A|

ah Stroke,

thanks @RidK

@TCJ

it will be easy to do it by editing Image,

because the shadows are of same size as the Fonts (with no color black),

I never heard about anyone having Address of their Size, all i have is for Position, color, Font type, etc.

do Some PhotoShop Buddy,

No,I think it's possible.Somebody did a CLEO mod adding font borders for San Andreas,Here's an example.

Drop shadow is the default effect used in GTA III,VC,whereas font borders were introduced in GTA San Anderas(partially),GTA IV and above.

As far as I understand you need to draw bigger black text and smaller white text on top of black text.

III/VC have no such feature. Only SA has.

I hope that is what you wanted to hear.

You can draw outlined text in this way:

1) Draw text with black color at position (x-1; y-1)2) Draw text with black color at position (x+1; y-1)3) Draw text with black color at position (x+1; y+1)4) Draw text with black color at position (x-1; y+1)5) Draw colored text at position (x; y)
Where 1 is an outline size.

If you are not gonna help, then please, leave this thread away.

Speak this way only when you will stop being a newbie modder. Edited by _DK

Go learn some basic tutorials and lessons on SCM scripting.

I won't post any code here.
