... uh, no there isn't, knuckwad!

Any explanations for this happening about 1 out of every 3 attempts to host a Job?

Starting to become quite annoying.

Happened to me yesterday while hosting Parking Garage Rumble.

Had to back out and rehost it, only to have it happen again!

Rockstars matchmaking is absolutely terrible, nothing more needs to be said.

Holding my head in slight shame, but not too shamefully, I realize that this should have gone in the B&M thread.

No problem if anyone wants to lock this one up. Just sayin' is all. ;)

Used to happen to me all the time and I figure its the stupid matchmaking so I always rush to closed matchmaking and if I wanna invite randoms I'll just invite in session, although most of the time I'd rather just do it solo since its easy and you don't have to deal with idiots. Doesn't really happen to me anymore as long as I don't have matchmaking open.

You know, I don't get why people complain about pointless bullsh*t, when this and timeout errors are the actual problems. Matchmaking needs to be made so it doesn't glitch out all the time and so lobbies actually get filled up. I had an easier time finding a decent lobby in Red Dead 2 years after its launch. It's really a big problem when you can't actually enjoy online with, you know, other people.

No, this deserves its own dedicated thread in my opinion. Session connectivity issues like these are what really gets under my skin. We wait five minutes to get players into a deathmatch. We finally actually fill the lobby and as the deathmatch is loading we all get kicked because "there were not enough players."

Sometimes you get that player joining message because someone with a bad connection is trying to get in and sometimes they time out and you still can't start the damn session because it says: player is joining, please wait.

Yesterday I joined a friends mission, there where four of us in the lobby, he starts the mission and I get stuck in one session by my self. Had to do mixed up with coke on hard by myself( I don't own a buzzard). Crazy thing was my car was parked on top of my friends. Weird stuff is weird. Lol

i have had this problem to says person joining forever until i finally have to quit out of the game and start gta back up, makes me just want to do it solo.

also since 1.12 patch it seems even bugger now sometimes during loading screen my char just parachutes into nothingness until he hits the bottom and spawns at a random spot on the map. Still freezing the lag/choppiness has gotten a-lot worse and i cant use the fire truck hose no more WTF! take fire hose out and not a OP tank! W.T.F.

Rock-star logic:

This thing is way to over powered it shoots water!

we get tons of complaints daily about the tank guys do you think we should nerf it? no just make it so they have to pay 200 bucks for it each time that's fair it totally make up for the ability to take an insane amount of dmg and shoot anything from a mile away with a giant cannon that kills int 1 hit and grief other players buy blowing up there pv's and spawn killing them.

0_0.jpg

that's a pic of three t-wankers trying to kill me in passive mode, that's sure not overpowered

but this is?

For an online game, I spend more time offline in storymode and error message screens than actually playing online like I intend to.

This is not just related fully to matchmatching but connectivity issues as well. When you join a lobby or session, your player will communicate with all players in that lobby or session, once the players have received the request, their characters will send a response. Now somewhere during this process the responses are being lost. This causes a player to still join the lobby even though they have timed out on their side. When the job starts, this anomaly forces a time out error.

Unlike FR sessions, if this happens there and the joining account does not communicate with all the online accounts in the FR session (For whatever reason) your character will be moved off to another FR session and try there.

Previously, this never used to happen but R* has made some change to the matchmaking mechanics which is now causing players to join a lobby without communicating correctly to other accounts.

My tests conclude that it is mainly type 3 players not being able to connect with type 1 and 2 players properly. All accounts I've tested this with have been a type 3 player causing the time out. But of course, this is just speculation.

@sD_Killer

That was a bug with the last patch. The water hose will return in the next update. R* posted about this on their support site.

All my connection issues disappeared with 1.11, 1.12; I am not sure which one but I used to basically spend two hours just trying to play for 30 minutes, no exaggeration and it wasn't until those patches came along that all of it stopped. An hour of gta online is now an hour of gta online and not 40-50 minutes of disconnects; its the way it should be stability wise and I like it.

Their servers were a mess.

I do get this bug every so often though and yeah its annoying but I haven't had it in awhile.

Had a random join a mission I was hosting with friends the other day, matchmaking was indeed set to closed. First time that's happened to me.

so I always rush to closed matchmaking and if I wanna invite randoms I'll just invite in session......

:facedesk: Why not set your options to closed and then it will always be closed by default and you don't have to rush?

It's right above your spawn location option at Online/Options/Matchmaking/ closed

:facedesk: because you tried to close it before anyone joined in the mission lobby, as soon as confirm settings invites go out. Set your default to closed and it will never happen.

As of recently matchmaking for me appears to be closed by default. I always look to make sure anyway. Not sure if it's the same for anybody else.

It's open by default, change your options to closed and it will stay there
