Just did 5 or 6 different races where 80% of the lobby pitted. There's no skill when you could avoid all that and they magically return because of catch-up.

 

Ghost will fix this non-sense.

I hate all the pitting crap.

But it does actually take a bit of skill - as does avoiding it.

 

I never do it, except when someone tries to do it to me first, then they're getting it.

If I wanted to be crushed to a wall by other drivers - or If I wanted to crush others, I play Burnout. At least I get points for that in that game.

When the option is released, I'll be able to have a fun race experience and play GTA without changing the disc.

Anyone can drive the track? Turbo start a significant advantage? Sheez, you must race sh*t circuits with sh*t players.

 

No wonder you're crying and moaning about ghost option: now even at the most stupid track you don't have the slightest chance, because in the two corners even the sh*ttiest track has, you'll lose couple of seconds on merit and there's no ramming to save you.

No that's not really fun. Some have to settle for that kind of sh*t cos that's the best they can do, but that's not where the fun is.

 

FUN during a race is about going wheel to wheel through corners with other guy that is very close to your pace. RACING is the fun bit of races.

 

People who can't RACE fot their lifes are missing all the fun. Ghost mode is bad for bunches of good racers because there's no racing like that. But it's a God-gift for regular lobbies because that way they can get something remotely similar to a race.

 

I don't need this anymore, in fact it would hurt our races now. But I would have loved to have this on my days of open lobby racing.

I think ghost mode will be okay. People are saying that it will auto-disable catch-up and slip stream. I don't think it will disable catch-up. Others are saying it will be boring and seem like you are racing yourself. I put this to the community; without slipstream and catch-up, which just make it easier for noobs to win, players will have have to rely on their car's performance and their driving skill alone. Also there won't be that annoyance of wabs crashing into you when you are driving perfectly. No collision will be a truer representation of how good a driver a player actually is.

IMO ghost mode is pussy mode. Other racers can hit you in normal mode. But this is not a problem if you hit them first. Some people talks about dirty racers as non skilled players. Wrong. It requires some skill to hit others, in the right time at the right place. Not talking about those noobs who ruins their own race when are ruining yours.Intense hate to losers in wrong direction or creating troubles when they are in lost lap, waiting for first racers.

I would love to ghost racers just in that case.

Ghosting will not fix anything besides giving the non racers a chance to play time trials races.

I joined a random race last night called Long Haul 3. A couple of my crew mates grabbed the auto invite from my FL and joined also. The host after starting got on mic and said "ok everyone play nice" to which I responeded " my crew races clean". 30 seconds in I saw some guy catch slipstream and yank to keep from assrapeing another driver and in the process sideswiped (rather gently) the host. He immediately said "Oh you want to be a dick, I can be a dick too". He then pushed the other guy all the way across freeway into a wall causing both to spin out and wiped virtually everyone behind them. This turned the whole race into a bashfest withmy guys either leaving or trying very hard to avoid everyone.

 

I was completely wiped out and wrecked off the track at least 4 times through this race and still had a legitimate chance to win by the end.

 

Take your own "take aways"from that info.

 

Back on topic: I think the ghost option is going to be alongside standard and gta modes in the host menu. My reasoning is that GTA mode and Ghost mode are not compatable. This also allows them to remove other options below. I believe that at a minimum catchup will be removed in ghost mode because in theory if no one is bashing you then it isnt needed. Hopefully Slipstream will also be removed for this mode.

I'm not crying or moaning, im simply stating that this is a crappy mode. Its no longer a race but like someone said above, a time trial. If that's what you want, fine.

More More in variation is not always good. Cuz if I were to do a quick race or a crew race, more often than not, im finding myself in a lobby which has setting i don't want in a race. So I've wasted time. Now i have another mode which i have to factor in. So you see, it may be an optional mode, but the decisions of other players directly affect me.

 

Now if you were to say to start up a match of my own with the settings i want, i would. But then i have to wait for a long time for enough players to enter my lobby and wait it out until i have enough to race.

 

Again, a waste of time.
