City of Angels - 30 Seconds To Mars, it baffles me how that song never made the game. It's perfect for it.

I'm talking about the soundtrack. Wouldn't it be great if Rockstar managed to erase the existing radios on the next gen releases, and create new, better ones? Because, honestly, the soundtrack was SO bad. Even the DJs lacked any charisma whatsoever

I wouldn't say removed That would make no sense. But, yes, they can ADD.

If anything, they could add the songs that they originally cut from the stations. This song was supposed to be on Channel X and it's a shame they took it off, and I don't see why. And don't say "It's because the title mentions Los Angeles instead of Los Santos". It seems as though Rockstar has been inconsistent enough, I'm letting them slide because it's flunked so bad on their end.

Hmmm nice bike

Add this song, too, because it was also cut.

Another song featured in Saints Row 2 (1 Thing by Amerie was also in that game before V, so whenever I hear it, I always imagine SR2), and a classic hit. If not this time, maybe the next game, especially if they go back to Vice City and/or Vice City's whole "take over the city" kind of story.

soundtrack on the radios is probably one of the costliest parts of GTA games so i doubt it. they either drop that money on something else.

I was thinking that as well. Just add more songs instead of erasing the existing ones. Because honestly, they aren't all bad, but there's definitely some that aren't as good as others.

My topic was merged with this one, and now my post is super awkward, ha.

By the way, wasn't the whole Kavinsky thing a publicity stunt?

Yes. Kavinsky lied to dupe GTA fans into checking out his upcoming album at the time.

Yes, he had some other mobile game coming out around that time I think, so he just wanted to create a buzz about him being in a game so he can then cross-promote and get GTA fans following him after to take a look at whatever else he released. We discovered he was a lying bastard when checking the files and finding all kinds of pre-release radio station info (including a cut station called PMR, and genre changes on other stations), but no proof of "Nightcall FM" or "Nightride FM" or whatever he said it was ever existing.

And he already had quite some recognition from appearing in the soundtrack of that Hollywood movie. Talk about being greedy

Actually Drive was an indie film by a foreign filmmaker but yeah, i lost a ton of respect for him after that stunt, i still like his music but it leaves a bad taste in my mouth everytime i listen to it now .

Just wondering, but can the cut songs in the files be played at all, or is it just the song name only?

As a Michael Jackson fan, I was really disappointed to find that Dancing Machine (one of my favorite Jackson 5 songs) was cut. Then again, I'm bummed we haven't had anything from MJ in a GTA game since Vice City (not even a single song in Vice City Stories or on Vice City FM in EFLC), but I digress.

On another note, if brand new stations are added a la EFLC, I wouldn't mind seeing a station completely dedicated to 90's dance music (though we already have songs like Music Sounds Better With You, Anthem, and Rhythm of the Night on Non-Stop Pop). It's a guilty pleasure of mine.

To be honest, they cut too many songs from Channel X, which really is a shame. I love all the songs on it now--as I grew up listening to all those bands, and even saw OFF! last month--but the playlist is just too short. They easily could have put more songs on Channel X.

Also, they picked what is by far the worst FEAR song. I'd much rather hear this one:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1t20CphpzM0&feature=kp

Or this:

Or even 'I Love Livin' in the City' --yeah, I get it's been in a couple games, including the Warriors, and is probably their most popular song, but still. I can't imagine getting the rights to punk songs is very expensive, and considering how short your average hardcore punk song is, memory would hardly be an issue. They easily could have added 4-5 more songs to Channel X. Here were my suggestions for Channel X (if you care. If not, that's coo too.): http://gtaforums.com/topic/633177-but-what-you-would-like-to-hear-on-radio-just-one/?do=findComment&comment=1063829334

This is so fitting for the game. And look at the video, looks like its near the Salton Sea (Alamo).
