New Douchery?

ok, this may not be new, but i've only just started to notice this phenomena, where two co-crew members invite you to a race so that its just the three of you, then proceed to attempt to wipe you out the whole race, allowing one of them to win, the one that they've both bet on to do so. its happened to me 3 times since yesterday, i cant be then only one who thinks this it's up there will bounties who wall breach? just when i was starting to think races in public lobbies were becoming much more civilised with better behaved drivers... i've only just started racing again as when i started playing in october, all races where clusterf*cks and demolition derbys which put me off racing.

i've just come off the last race this happened to me on, however i managed to win, which spawned hate messages from one of them, they sounded quite old as well, i.e. in there 20s at least, not the usally squeeky voiced idiots that tend to act like this.

 

anyone else experienced this? is this a common tactic?

Yeah, not new. Happened to me the first couple of weeks of playing online. If I get into a race with only a few players and I see they're all in the same crew, I'll quit before it starts.

i know that, i was asking if it was new, whether other people had experienced it and if others view it as douchecy as i do?

 

i wasnt starting a petition to have it outright banned from the world of GTA.

There's one that's way worst. I've encoutered these two losers in a capture (because capture is/was paid twice as more, this was like a week or two ago) and I thought the host would wait to start the game seeing it was 2 against 1. My TV is a bit small to make out crew names so I'm not sure if they were in the same crew. If they were friends, I would suspect it would be them agains me, it would of been much more fair in my opinion. So we're doing the bus depot one (where you gotta steal a bus and bring it back, by far the worst capture to play). So I go get a bus, teammate drives over me before I can get in. The guy arrives, kills me, takes a bus. So I'm wondering why my teammate didn't kill him (I would of forgiven him running me over if he would of gotten the enemy). So I spawn, run for a bus, get run over. Great....by now I know my teammate is a troll. At least it's going to be me against the guy, just try to avoid my teammate.

I get in a bus and he's shooting my tires, ramming me and all he can do to stop me. Enemy has a bus, I manage to get a bus. Then another. It's tied two buses to two buses. I go get the last bus, enemy kills me, had C4 on every bus. He gets a bus from somewhere else and I kill him, steal his bus. Teammate pins me, enemy walks up and kills me. He takes the bus and before he brings the bus to his bus I leave. Yeah, yeah, ragequit. I lost out on my money, sure, but I couldn't be bothered to keep this up. I was tied to a guy that had help and my teammate was worst than the enemy. It's safe to say I had more skills than them by having a moron on my team. It helps me sleep at night knowing I was better than them. Anyway, my teammate sends me a message, "lol u mad?" How mature. I replied, "good game" just so I'm not the prick in this situation. He responds, "u mad lol u suck go kill yourself". Like, really?

I reported him for that comment. It's really angering (that's a word, right?) when you meet these idiots that sit at home and plans to annoy others for the fun of it. You know what I did for fun when I was a kid? I would stack legos, that's what I did. I'm not saying he probably was a kid...but no normal adult would be this stupid, using memes as responses, that stuff.

Two guys made me ragequit in a capture and I realized I had no friends.

But yeah, OP, I know what you mean. While it wasn't in racing, I did Rooftop Rumble and had these two Entity's the same color run me over when the package was picked up by one of them. One went to deliver the package after running me over while the other tried to kill him with his car. I climbed on a ledge and jerked off (the animation). He did the same.

I think a single troll is okay, they're not TOO bad to take care of. When it's 2 or more against you, your best bet is to leave whatever you're in. I'm at the point in gaming where I don't have to prove myself to people (this contradicts my first story above, I can get cocky). I just don't bother with skill-based stuff. I play for fun now. If it's not fun, chances are I don't play it.

This kind of douchebagerry doesn't shock or surprise me one bit. At this point...nothing in GTAO does. Live, learn, move on until the next method of trolling reveals itself.

A similar thing happened to me.. two guys from same crew, probably 15-20 years old, were talking about how much money they would win on this custom race made by one of them. It was quite a long race (10-15min) and the vehicle class was muscle cars. They continuously tried to ram me of the road by synchronizing their manoeuvres via voice-chat, laughing out loud when they managed to ram me. I did my best to counter-attack them. They had catch-up enabled, so when I got rid of them they came back in some seconds... but near the end of the map I somehow managed to pit one of them of the road, leaving him quite far behind and the other one faced the same destiny 20 seconds away from the finish-line. Victory!! ..then they started cursing me and falsely accused me of being a cheater.

 

I felt kind of sorry for them, so I gave their map thumbs up at least
