I keep seeing all these threads about heists and somewhat idiotic reasons as to why they have not come out yet. Like Rockstar holding them back until online is fixed etc. So felt the need to inform the community about the truth.

 

In a nut shell, the online heists content had/has not been finished.

 

Rockstar marketed the games online component with heists but had not managed to finish the online content prior to release. This is most likely because they focused more of their development team on the single player aspect rather than the online. They had delayed the game once already (in spring) in the hopes of being able to get it all finished and when they realized they couldnt get it done, had no choice but to release the game as it was. They could not afford to delay it again due to the impending launch of the new generation consoles (which more likely than not, would have caused Rockstar to lose a large amount of their target audience and revenue if the game was not released by then) and as such here we are. They would have delayed it again in September if it was not so risky.

 

I can assure you, now that the game is out, Rockstar will not apply all of the developers which worked on the single player of the game to the online segment. They will instead, use them to start the next GTA game. Leaving the initial core online development team to deal with the online now.

 

Hopefully they have finished it now. However, invariably only time will tell.

On a side note. I killed a level 58 player 68 times last night. He killed me 7. It was in a clean lobby where I saw him in bitch mode and decided he was the target. After leaving bitch mode, I made him blow up my personal vehicle (Adder) 7 times and he was put in badsport. He paid the insurance on all instances. I do not know how long he was put in badsport for as he was not speaking and went off of the game when I joined his badsport session. He did message me in text though and seemed extremely upset that I had ruined his experience.

 

My Badsport timer is still at 1m1d. (Which it has been for a month now).

 

Whats the most amount of times you have killed another player? I don't care how you did it (I wont judge) but try to include, if you remember, the method in which you killed them.
