So this guy loses a match in Call of Duty and after tracking the opponent's IP calls the cops saying that the winner has killed his mother and brother, so the police sends a SWAT team creating hella mess.

f*ck 'em. Long Beach is full of stuck-up c*nts anyway.

This isn't too far from me. Should force the kid or his parents to pay some sort of fine.

Swatting has become a pretty dangerous sport for internet low-lifes. The security researcher Brian Krebs got swatted for revealing the identities of several people operating a forum for selling stolen credit card info. It's only a matter of time before someone gets shot.

Saw on YouTube a few months ago that the Optic Gaming house was "swatted" like this.

So it appears that Call Of Duty players favor this method of revenge.

After this they should ban Call Of Duty altogether. Trust me, it'll be good for everyone.

Didn't they also send heroin to his house as well to try and get him in trouble.

Whatever happened to sending a squad car to reconnoiter?

These 'Swatties' were getting uppity back in the 70s, so I guess it was bound to happen. I remember a Lieutenant firing a 37mm Tear gas shell just for the heck of it. It went clear over a building and landed in the next neighbourhood.

Seems if you Spit on the sidewalk somebody will want to send the S.W.A.T

Detective Phelps

Boy-that-escalated-quickly.jpg

All over a game...

During that time, the police and fire department could have responded to an actual emergency.

I hope that the culprit gets a harsh punishment, including a permanent ban from all online multiplayer gaming services (e.g. PSN and XBL).

Wait a waste of police resources, in the time the S.W.A.T. Team were dealing with this crap some guy could be mugging/murdering someone. I hope the Stupid kid gets severely punished for this crap.

yeah, im starting to not want to be able to be pinpointed by anyone, especially these anger issue idiots

im not that familiar with how skype calls work, but what if skype managed their own area code type thing? so police departments could easily tell blah blah

idk, im just running off random thoughts

I wonder if one of my cousins was called to the scene. Long Island also has the highest paid police force in the country.

Skype cannot be traced, and even if the police pursued it, it would take them a while for Skype to hang over anything. All of the area codes on Skype are Skype-related which is why it shows up as a Skype User on caller ID.

I am never going to touch online gaming ever again!

Seems Call of Duty fan boys are always taking it one step further in all honesty. They're stupid for sending in SWAT and not just a few police cars at first. This is what happens when you give so much funding and tax money into the Long Island police force that they can do whatever they want as long as it's at their disposal.

Hell, patrol cops are given Glock 18's and G36's in the trunk of their cars, while most other cops in other areas have just M4's if that.

You also really can't trace an IP unless it's a Static IP. This guy happened to get lucky because IP traces usually give an estimate of where the IP came from, but you tend to have a bunch of other house holds around the area.

Really?

A video game wheter you win or lose should never prompt more than 5 seconds of joy or anger as they are just for fun. This shot doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things.
