Idea for R* - Paintings Sponsors & Race Bonus

An other reason of seeing this happening it's some races from Rockstar and Verified jobs by Rockstar.

Remake Laguna Seca :

http://fr.socialclub.rockstargames.com/games/gtav/jobs/job/Sdt63EoOJ0GM4Tv78Ubn-g?platformId=null

Do you find this really street racing? No, it's a copy of a racetrack.

Monaco Grand Prix :

http://fr.socialclub.rockstargames.com/games/gtav/jobs/job/33uAzKl9X0GTG5i2DHZvlA?platformId=null

The same.

Gymkhana :

http://fr.socialclub.rockstargames.com/games/gtav/jobs/job/VwKcDcvJYE-FVHuCzGdkEQ?platformId=null

Again sponsored race.

Nurburgring :

What else

And @OP I don't even know what that's a picture of and have no way of knowing whether it's applicable or not, good job trying to get a proper back and forth going though because I definitely didn't expect that response, but I'm going to need you to elaborate more on that picture (what illegal street races has it been used in, why is it the sponsors haven't been charged with funding illegal activities, etc) if you want me to take that seriously.

Gumball 3000 is a rallye in US, European and Asian roads with supercars for rich people.

You have to pay 60000$ for your first participation.

This race exist since 1999.

In Europe, the police and goverments join their force to stop racers from Gumball who are pushing the limitation of European roads.

Because it's dangerous for other people on the road who are not closed.

Then, this is a part of illegal racing like street race.

I don't know if sponsors pay the reward to the pound or if it's the drivers.

In 2007, Netherland and German cops stop the race.

The race moved to Turkey by plane and they change the track.

But this is on the road since 15 years.

Okay so that's an illegal street race then but I can't imagine those sponsors getting away with putting their names on the cars and not getting in trouble for it, and unless you can post a link to somewhere legitimate which clearly states that the sponsors did plaster their names on those cars, did fund illegal activities and didn't get in trouble for it then it's still not an applicable point.

Official website :

Copy from Sponsorship page :

"Sponsorship

Gumball 3000 utilises its unique fabric as a brand to offer firms a multi-faceted partnership opportunity that transcends geographies, popular cultures and medias.

The spectacular event sees 120 cars drive 3,000 miles in a week - with incredible entertainment being put on for both entrants and the general public in each of the countries in which it stops.

Gumball 3000 offers partners the means of affiliating their brands with concerts, celebrities, fashion, sports, the arts and so much more - all enveloped within our week on tour and activated centrally by our team of experts.

The event resonates with two main demographics - one; the entrants who represent individuals at the very top of their respective sectors be it film stars or philanthropists, skateboarders or CEO's and secondly; the millions of fans across the globe - who resonate with and aspire to the Gumball brand. Due to the eclecticism of the entertainment, the event transcends the usual parameters associated with a global gathering and can provide firms a very powerful means of communication across genres of culture.

Fifteen years of experience has meant that we now have a vast international reputation and can pull a huge crowd - our largest recorded to date has been 1 million people to a single event space. This also offers incredible opportunities to firms who wish to undertake primary market research, product testing and sampling.

Media is a fundamental part of the event, and prime-time television presence in over 150 countries, a vast presence in both printed and electronic media and a huge social media reach is just the tip of the iceberg.

All partnership packages are uniquely built around the firm in order to deliver substantial targeted value in return, and there is no 'standard offering'.

For more information contact the Sponsorship Department [email protected]

Youtube, MTV, Momo (car design), and lot more are sponsors in this race.

^Okay but that all looks legal from what I just read, where's the link that say the competition is breaking the law?

I can tell you if anyone just started randomly street racing in the streets of LA and the cops caught them and found out that legitimate companies sponsored the race, those companies would unquestionably get in trouble. What you're describing is a major organized event drawing crowds of millions, not exactly the same thing.

And R* verifies races that lots of people like, just because lots of people who race liked the remakes doesn't mean R* is agreeing with you somehow.

This needs to be a thing! I love the liveries in the OP by the way. The racing parts (huge spoiler, bodykits, custom tires, roll cage, etc.) Make much more sense then!

Start illegaly and always illegal because this race happened in open roads.

This is not a race of going fast but if they do, drivers are not in respect of road limits and then laws.

After 15years they found more sponsors and visibility but all start illegaly.

Even if Youtube and MTV make the show, part of drivers were arrested by cops during the race ( in US and Europe).

Cars were put in pound.

And like I said, in 2007 they change the track because of European Cops and Government who didn't accept this race.

It's not because you have sponsor than you're legal.

Do you think David Hasseloff (one of the Gumballer) has a licence to drive over the road limits with trafic around?

This is a citizen like everyone and he doesn't respect the law, it's his fault.

Exemples ?

Actually the companies would most likely deny involvement. Anybody can paint a sponsor on the car.

Yeah they'll deny it sure (so does everyone accused of a crime), but if the cops can prove it with a paper trail or something then yes the sponsors could get in trouble.

And I can't quite concede that point OP because the race you describe is different than races in GTA, this Gumball thing is still a major organized event which is at least somewhat legal starring celebrities which draws crowds of over a million people and that the people moved as you said yourself in response to the police cracking down on them. GTA street races have no crowds and aren't highly organized events, and you better believe racers in GTA aren't thinking about the rules of the road at all while they race (which you can't say for people in this Gumball thing). Also the cops don't stop us from racing in the game, and if they ever try we actually fight back and kill the cops if necessary to keep racing. Altogether they're wildly different scenarios and I maintain that legitimate corporations would never publicly sponsor criminals street racing in the manner depicted in GTA.

Don't forget it's just a game.

We can have more imagination than in real world.

Personnaly, i don't see race from the game like illegal races. You can choose trafic or not, then without trafic it's more like a real race.

Their is only GTA race with weapons looks similar to really illegal races.

And if Gumball is seeing by a lot of people now, it wasn't at beginning.

Also OP props for actually having a proper discussion about this, we may not agree with each other but it's rare to have a decent back and forth like this over the internet, it's nice to know some people even on this site are sensible (though it would have to be a French guy... No offense but I just wish more people who wave the American Flag were people I'm not embarrassed by).

Yeah that's it though it's a game and we shouldn't be tarnishing it by adding in such real world negative things like corporate sponsorships, sure they've led to the creation of a lot of things like pro racing we might not have had otherwise and I don't resent them for that, but in any proper future corporations won't exist anymore and sponsorships will be a thing of the past, and anything worth doing will simply be done for the sake of doing it instead of some corporate stooge writing a check. Anything good that's come from advertising (and even I find some adds amusing) would be humor and effort better spent not in the service of greed and corruption, trying to turn people into mindless drones who will buy anything their told to as long as someone makes the add funny enough.

Advertisements are a dirty thing and there's no place for furthering their proliferation in something that should be strictly for fun, and adding in the bonus for using ads on your car is a bad thing to do on so many levels. I get that you like racing in real life and you want to emulate your vehicle after those drivers and their cars, but why do you have to force that on me to get what you want? Leave out the bonus for using livery and just have your idea be to add livery for people who want to use it, everybody wins and nobody loses out. You put a lot of thought into this idea and it is well thought out, but in my opinion this is just the wrong game to have it be fully implemented as you imagine.

But the corporate sponsorship is fake corporate sponsorship. It would fit with the satirical theme of GTA if the fake corrupt corporations sponsored races. While I agree that the bonuses shouldn't be there, the idea is still a very good one. The Bati 801 RR has sponsors and you can't actually buy what the, again, fake sponsors are selling.

A website to unlock and buy all this stuff?

351465crappysponsorshipwebsite.jpg

I put GTA$ but in first time i wrote RP.

I just think each brand/paint could have a different bonus (and yeah Luscius I still believe it's need bonus).

And thanks to djdest who give me the idea to make different bonus on different type of races.

This would be great. In the end it's just more paintworks avaliable. Like them? Use them. Don't like? Don't use.

Bonus thing is far from an issue. I wouldnt ever change the way my car looks for one I think it's worse for extra 4000$. It would be just a little insignificant detail, and if that's the only criticism someone can come up with, says a lot about how good the idea is.

Good job OP. Would love to have a Feltzer or a Sultan looking like that. Wouldnt work with most cars but that's where user common sense comes into play.

Nice answer!

I still believe too than it's not a big deal.

But I respect the argue of Luscius.

Then I think, like I show in the fake website, bonus can be in relation with different race and/or situation.

Downtown Cab in relation with Rallye races because you have a pilot and copilot. Copilot doesn't drive like the client in a cab.

We can imagine handicaps too.

Hey one things; why do your pictures look so Jpeg? Do you save yours as PNG? If not, you should try it because they do look a little pixelated... unless that's just the game itself.

Just one more thing, I think this thread would be a lot more organized if you put all of the pictures in folders on the front post according to car name. For example:

Schwartzer

Feltzer

Comet

Elegy RH8

and others that you will add. Just an idea :)

Sir Michael

I know the Bullet doesn't have racing mods, but it'd be nice to turn it into a true Gulf/Mirage. The paintjob and livery works better with the older model GT40, but it should be fine with the Bullet.
