We’ve seen all manner of hijinks being pulled off with the trusty help of the Cargobob military helicopter. Motorboating inside of Fort Zancudo, HVY dump trucks precariously perched atop the Maze Bank Tower – and many other clever ‘how’d that get there??’ Snapmatic moments…

 

Now’s your chance to put your hook-drag-and-drop skills (and photographic prowess) to the test. Your mission: pick something up with the Cargobob; drop it where it absolutely doesn’t belong; snap the most creative, impressive, beauteous or amusing Snapmatic photo of it that you can.

Whatever load you fancy, we want to see your best Cargobob drop photos.

 

From now through end of day Monday, April 28th, capture your wildest and most unique Cargobob drop offs and tag them with #ThanksCargobob on Snapmatic. Don't be afraid to think outside the box - strange drops are encouraged. Our five favorite Snapmatic shots will be featured here at the Rockstar Newswire and the winning photographers will receive GTA$1M and a deluxe Rockstar Prize Pack including GTAV tees and hoodies, a Los Santos trucker cap, a GTAV Gold Bar USB Drive, official stickers and an iFruit phone case.

 

 

To enter, Social Club members can upload photos from the in-game iFruit phone to the Snapmatic page at socialclub.rockstargames.com/gtav/snapmatic. When logged in at the Snapmatic page, you can go to "My Photos" to find your photo and add the hashtag #ThanksCargobob to automatically have it considered for entry. We advise that you check that your contact email information is up to date in your Social Club account settings and encourage you to link your Facebook and/or Twitter accounts to your Social Club profile so that we can easily contact you to send prizes should your picture be chosen.

What could have been my entry:

 

I never for a moment thought R* would do a Snapmatic contest of this sort, so I unfortunately deleted this photo recently as my Snapmatic was full. The bus is clearly in rough shape, but there's a story behind it. My crew members and I thought it would be a nice challenge to try to drive it up Mt. Chilliad, with the assistance of heavy-duty vehicles pushing it. We didn't make it very far up, so we picked up our trusty cargobob to haul it up to the top.

Today I rediscovered how hard it is to lift a marquis. Hooking on is bad enough but it's the only vehicle I've had detach spontaneously in mid air. 3 times.

 

I've tagged 3 shots so far. The most recent may even have been taken after the contest started, though I'm not that pleased with it (can be seen in the surfer topic). One from last weekend can be seen in the old mans crack topic. The third is much older...

IIRC, they can be purchased in GTAO but they regularly spawn at various helipads once you reach rank 22.

You can glitch one from Pegasus but cant normally buy one

IIRC, they can be purchased in GTAO but they regularly spawn at various helipads once you reach rank 22.

 

It can only be bought with a 'glitch' (although it's not really a glitch more of an oversight by rockstar because it functions as intended)

 

If you go to the Merryweather docks you will always get either a buzzard or a cargobob, or it can randomly spawn at any helipad/airfield

 

 

If you could take photos in missions I would totally just photo the one in coveted, #Thankscargobobfor$18k

I find it annoying that you can't buy the damn thing online but they make a Snapmatic contest with it.

 

Sure they spawn randomly but like most things, it's there when you don't want it and gone when you do.

 

Edit: I've tried the glitches that are apparently still working but I couldn't get them to work after too much time.

I'm sorry but this is just too funny. People can't even do the easy workaround to buy the cargobob any more and then they put this snapmatic contest up. That's a nice big slap in the face for legit players.

 

That being said this is a pretty cool contest idea, I'll see if I can muster up an entry for it.

Once, it took me over 10 minutes to find a cargo bob. And that's including the play through of cco3 to teleport me out near grapeseed. Drove to McKenzie, took the trigger that was there and flew back and forth between there and Sandy Shores until one spawned. Its NOT HARD to get one.

Once, it took me over 10 minutes to find a cargo bob. And that's including the play through of cco3 to teleport me out near grapeseed. Drove to McKenzie, took the trigger that was there and flew back and forth between there and Sandy Shores until one spawned. Its NOT HARD to get one.

I always seem to find them at the LSIA when i'm in need of one.

 

If it isn't there when you get there just get in the heli that are there and fly around and come back it may take one or two tries but it'll pop up, Least it always does for me

Probably some thirteen year old who had his crew/friends come in and like it. The same thirteen year old's are the same people who had their crew/friends like his custom map so they could get verified. Its more of a popularity contest instead of it actually being good.

I've always wanted to get a lobby to work together with cargobobs picking up containers from the docks and stacking them as high as possible and what not (also tactically dropping them around players personal vehicles so they would become stuck) Maybe even playing Jenga with the containers...somehow...

The official judging criteria don't include popularity, but who knows....the rules do say that attempted vote influencing can result in disqualification so that's contradictory.
