Why the lack of skill?

There's something that's been really bugging me lately whenever I play online. First I want to say that I mostly like playing in a co-operative manner, I guess you could say that I'm a team player. I don't care about k/d ratios, or bragging rights, etc.. I like clean races, even teams, and I love playing co-op missions. But that's where everything seems to fall short for some reason, there is a real lack of skill when it comes to doing things along with other people.

I see players in the triple digits that still don't know how to do certain missions, or completely screw them up all together. I've also had people steal my car, bike, or helicopter, and sometimes had them destroyed. I've been run over, blown up, and sabotaged more ways than I can count.

Rooftop rumble seems to be the only mission that anyone wants to play anymore, so anytime I join a random I end up there 4 out of 5 times. And even though its the most popular mission by far right now, some jack wagon inevitably finds a way to screw it up. What the hell man? Where are all of the skilled players? What the hell is everyone gonna do when the heist update drops? I hope there's more of a team minded community once everyone realizes there's good money to be made with a little bit of work.

It's not lack of skill, it's lack of brain cells.

I tested the phone Quick Join Contact Mission last night because I also like playing co-op style.....11 in a row for Rooftop (backed out each time) before I got something else. It's a pain in the ass.

Sometimes when I play RR, I just run straight into the parking garage with a broken bottle to see how that plays out because I don't give any sh*ts about that mission or the people playing it.

Hardly anyone knows how to play as a team if they're just randoms. I'll get lucky once in a while though and it's a beautiful change.

There are some players out there that play properly, just earlier I did 3 difficult missions with a random who was about level 50 or so, no problems, they didn't run out and die straight away, crash into me etc. they just played properly.

Quite often when Im in a lobby doing a mission that isn't RR (i.e just grinding), people are happy to stay in and keep doing random missions.

There are probably as many if not more underage kids on GTAO than adults, but you can always join a crew or friend the few people you encounter that play properly to avoid dealing with the kids who just muck about.

GTA has never really been the sort of game based on skill.

It's also the lack of a comprehensible description as to how to perform the missions. I don't even play the damn things because the instructions are so vague and I just wind up botching it for everyone else.

Actually, you can run in the garage, pistol whip all the npcs and be done in like 10 seconds without them firing a shot at you.

I'm it's not the case all the time, but never rule out the possibility of people letting their friends/family play on their accounts. I know I let my friends play every now and then and they aren't great players, but they try not to screw up too much for other people.

I host RR and usually only invite lower levels. If they don't have a grenade launcher or RPG they can't blow the case up and they usually just follow my lead. I find high level player all think they know what they doing and that their way is best so they do it their way and never work together. Plus the lower levels seem to appreciate it more. I made a few friends that I can just run mission strings with and they just follow my lead cause they see I know what I'm doing

That's another issue, often times I can't even communicate what needs to be done with other players, because nobody uses microphones.

It's a VIDEO GAME. There is no such thing as skill. There is never skill involved with video games. Get outside and do something active and you will see how a video game requires no skill.

I hate it when I join RR and I'm in the middle of pistol whipping when some moron fires his gun and I get sprayed down. Lack of skill, lack of brain cells.

The only thing that bothers me are people who deliberately sabotage missions.

I don't care about peoples' skill levels because it is highly unrealistic to expect everyone to possess a similar skill level to my own. Some will be better, some will be similar, others will be worse. sh*t happens.

Don't know what system you are on, but I do co-ops all the time and not just RR. I'm on PSN, feel free to add me. PSN is same as name.

^ true but even with the dumbed down car mechanic, people still can't drive without crashing something.

i know i do too at times because i get complacent and simply won't care if/what i hit, be it poles peds cars players.

but hell, i rarelly see anyone remember you CAN'T speed at all on that curve for the airport exit on the freeway, i'm sure we all know which one exactly, everyone will fall there even if once.

but lead any player there who chases you and watch them get to know that curve the hard way.

A lot of people with high K/D are trolls who either exploit glitches, hang around with crewmates or use a tank/jet to get easy kills. That, or they snipe unsuspecting people from afar. That's been my experience with most of them anyway.

I can assure you that it takes a lot more skill and brain function to play and be good at a video game than it takes to ride a bike or go hiking.

Whenever I see someone with a high k/d I usually hear "my bad broh I didn't mean to shoot you" once their crew member hits the ground lol.

If you're skilled with piloting one, you can easily kill people. Mainly people minding their own biz with no interest in PvP for starters.

Nobody cares about skill in this game. It's GTA, and people will always use that as an excuse to be d*ck heads.

Just another reason to stay away from crews and be an army of one.

I don't get passive mode anyways, why not just make passive lobbies instead?

Depends on how much you will have to rely on other players, because so far most of the missions can be completed with one person (which is what I end up doing most of the time anyways).

Lol you just suck. Only a moron, casual gamer or some old "back in my day" person would say that.
