Worst User Created Content

anyone here play a lot of user created content? i do, and i whilst i enjoy a lot of them, there are a number of terrible ones, i can just about live with races/deathmatches that are just plain boring, not everyone is brilliant at making them, but there are one or two things that really annoy me. Now ive not always been a fan of racing on this game, but in the past couple weeks i've come to quite enjoy it, so, my biggest gripe at the minute with player created jobs are the races that are specifically designed to be impossible upon first time racing, so the guy who made it can just get an easy win every single time. features like a long line of check points one immediately after another then all of a sudden a sharp turn.

 

it's a massive shame as there is a large number of genuinely great jobs out there, and this type of crap is flooding the place.

 

i searched for a similar topic but all i found was one that was aimed at slating specific jobs and individuals, which i didn't think was fair, so, what features annoy you in user created content?

All of my DM's/Races/captures are designed with OTHER players in mind.

Now SOME may require a bit of a learning curve, since some are easier than others, but if you try them and you have half a brain and modest maturity, you won't be dissappointed.

Answer: Yes and most of it is from the list of approved custom races that is pinned in this sub forum. Alot of great stuff there.

 

What annoys me about poorly made User Created Content?

 

Answer: The same as you stated, poorly placed checkpoints and props.

another gripe i have, when someone hosts a well constructed race, be it their own or someone elses, then spoils it with the completely wrong car class, i.e. super when half the track is off road/dirt track.

Yep alot of sh*t stuff being made by numbskull kids, I stick to what I know mine and Charlies and a few other mates jobs. I've been told several times that my DMs are better than the ones getting verified and ever R* ones. Same with Handcuff_Charlie's jobs all better than half the crap getting verified and even most the R* sh*t.

The only good thing about those crap races is that you can win some good money by betting on the host. I've started betting at least $1000 on the host everytime I get into a custom track.

I'm always playing custom races, always. Fortunately we have a very good, creative crew so I run a lot of great ones.

I also review in the PS3 approved thread (when I can...), so I play some not so great ones as well. Checkpoint placement is my biggest gripe by far, a lot of good routes are spoiled by poor CPs. Don't tend to play the disaster tracks, anything that looks like chaos in the map view I avoid.

Approved threads are where you'll find the better stuff, the share threads are just random lists.
