Should The New Bullpup Rifle be level locked

If R* doesn't then I hope they consider adding this to future weapons, especially ones that look overpowered or "cheap" (Flamethrower) and so on.

I think all the new weapons should have been level locked. But since they aren't, the new rifle might as well not be either.

Giving low levels access to better guns encourages them to push their luck, they should earn their guns, yes it should be locked

Level-locked? Nope - that means that you can't use them for 2nd characters, and it does change the gameplay of the early missions quite a bit, having things like a decent carbine.

(note: that doesn't make you better and automatically more dangerous with a better gun - going from a character with maxed shooting skill and high-level stats overall, to a character who's aim wobbles when scoping and a health bar that takes damage in the same way that tinfoil makes 'great' body armour, really drives that point home...)

Besides, there's not really been a DLC gun that outstrips any of the original game ones (Special/Collectors' Ed. content notwithstanding) - the Special Carbine trades certain stats with the Carbine Rifle (with the latter still being the superior gun, IMO), and likewise, the Heavy Pistol isn't exactly a game-changer, either.

As long as the Bullpup Rifle isn't some over-powered Godhammer that can shoot the nipples off a Lazer pilot from the other side of the island, then it's not going to be a problem.

The heavy pistol is op tho

no its not. .45 are much bigger than 9mm= more stopping power. proof in the spoiler

My reason for locking these weapons & their tints is because the idea of a game handing everything to you is boring. Work towards your goals,

I play games to have fun, not grind missions/deathmatches to find purpose in buying a weapon.

If I wanted that, I'd go play CoD.

Really? You think COD invented the notion of unlocking weapons/equipment?

You don't have to grind anything to get what you want, playing the game will make stuff happen and features be available. I do not grind this game and even then I always have enough ammo to wave around, provided you aren't some idiotic free roam griefer, you don't need to farm anything.

Having to work for them however, makes you appreciate these weapons that much more.

This. People just want it faster. Lots of people want instant gratification nowadays.

Yes, lock that FAMAS Bullpup Rifle and make the tints kill rewards like the original weapons.

It would be a good unlock for the 110 rank if it's powerful enough.

It's a Chinese Type-95, not a FAMAS.

Somebody already Ninja'd you on that one...but you're right.

I guess I should fix it.

No. No reason to lock items just for the sake of locking them. Also, it's hilarious how many people in this thread think they've earned something because they've played the game for x number of hours.

That's odd, because I'm pretty sure I've earned all of my items through playing the game.

Heres a tip. Its in a spoiler because it may come to a surprise to some

If you dont know about guns, do not guess. Saves the time and effort of people correcting you and telling to to get your eyes checked/hop off cod

Back OT. I just use the assault rifle, no need to sift through all of those other automatic sniper rifles when they all perform around the same anyway.

I dont know why you guys want a lvl 5 to be paired against a lvl 100 in a dm and not have a chance

They don't have to be. When I was a low level I had the common sense to avoid people who are going to probably kick my ass...

It seems the mentality of a lot of you is "give them guns for a fighting chance against high levels"...why?

Is that all you guys do? Just FR looking for a fight? And because it is, you expect everyone else's reason for locking them is to be a griefer?

My reason for locking these weapons & their tints is because the idea of a game handing everything to you is boring. Work towards your goals, even if your goals are just monkey around in FR, you have to put the effort in to have the surplus to be able to go aloof.

I have yet to grief anyone and never plan to. Why should I have another weapon that joins the ranks of the Carbine & Gusenberg as having no real sense of worth just because a lot of you have the idiotic notion that everyone is just looking to get into a fight?

The weapons you have at early levels (SMGs) are highly useful if you know what you're doing. If all you know is to press rb/r1 and then just wait till someone comes by to combo press the trigger buttons...then skill plays no part of it.

And no, the health boost is not that big a game changer. A head shot is still a head shot.

The other half of you just seem to have the "locked items are stupid, gimme gimme cuz I want nao" idea...

No dammit, play the game.

What she said!

Yeah. Lower levels don't need a more fair chance against higher levels. I like how when I'm playing with my low level second character, I have to be more careful. I tossed the special carbine, kept the Gusenburg but don't use it. I only use the pistol and the sawed off on that character. If you're just starting out, you're supposed to be at a disadvantage. If you think that's unfair then you need to stop being such a crybaby and recognise that it's like this with almost everything in life.

Besides, having the special carbine right away makes unlocking all the SMG's (except micro), and the AK47 useless. I rejoiced every time I unlocked a new gun, especially the AK because every time I did so I had a better chance at fighting. And perhaps even more importantly, it gives you a reason to use every gun in the game. Because really, how many people are still using the SMG's or the AK when they've already got a special carbine?

edit: sorry about double post, please merge if a mod comes across this

It amazes me that so many people here just think they are entitled to all the new guns. Disadvantage? That's how LIFE works. Prime example. In the animal kingdom, buffalo have a MAJOR disadvantage when they are young. But they hang with a group for protection, and over time gain experience and learn to be able to better defend themselves against predators. I LITERALLY just left a deathmatch and ONLY used the M9, and my headshot game is amazing, so don't talk about higher levels mean higher health. If you know you have weak guns and health, then stop trying to go Rambo all the damn time. There's a thing called STRATEGY. Link up with a crew, for gods sake. I'm level 150-something. Pay attention. "Level 150-SONETHING". I don't even know my level because I don't care to pay attention anymore, because at this point, leveling up has no purpose. After 120, what's the damn point? If all the strong weapons were just GIVEN away, what's the point of working up to better yourselves? Everyone in this game started off with the same weak ass weapons when GTA online was released. Now you new comers come in expecting handouts because you got the game late. That's like going into a new job with no experience and expecting CEO pay, simply because he has a Ferrari to get to work, and you have to take the bus.

No. No reason to. Stop complaining about low levels killing you with dlc weapons and just enjoy what the weapon has to offer.

Funny how people want this new gun to be a high level gun, but if R* decided to lock it at a higher level than the people wanting it locked are at, they'd come back here and f*cking moan about it. If they made it level 500 or something you would all abandon this whole sense of entitlement bullsh*t and make threads on how it should be a lower level.

Did I say CoD invented weapon unlocks? No, but it's the most popular multiplayer game around and obviously someone thought it'd be smart to emulate a restrictive and closed system for a game that was touted as being the most open online game ever.

You do need to grind unless you play the game 24/7. I don't have the time to play that much, that's why just playing normally I'm just hitting level 100 this week.

Having to work for weapons doesn't make me appreciate them, it annoys me because me and my friends can't do what we want to do in freeroam without spending 7 months playing a game that was marketed as an open game that allows you to do whatever you want to do.

I could almost understand unlocking the use of starting with weapons in deathmatches, but locking them in freeroam? That's just **** design for a GTA game.

Actually, I wouldn't. I wouldn't care if it was at lvl 999. I just want a reason to strive to level up. Because afterv120, there's no point. I mean hell, if they won't make it level locked, at least put hellafied taxes on the bitch. You know how boring this game gets when you have everything? It gets to the point where you don't do sh*t to level up and unlock, you do sh*t to grind money. I'm tired of having everything unlocked. I want it to be level locked, so I feel a sense of accomplishment when I get it. I want hard work to pay off. But then again, this is the mentality of a guy that tries to platinum every game I get.

It's also why I don't give a sh*t. The news is going to sensationalize everything. And I bet they don't do that because they don't know, they do so because it sounds more frightening. Why would I have to know a lot about guns? There is absolutely nothing in my daily life that requires any knowledge of firearms whatsoever.

Holland. Similar gun laws though. I don't care if you know a lot about guns. If you want to flaunt your knowledge that's fine, and I'm never against learning something new. But don't expect me to be a firearms expert, it doesn't interest me and it doesn't have to. If that gets on your nerves (or Winning001's nerves, actually), then you need to set your priorities straight and stop worrying about something as trivial as people not knowing every single firearm model ever produced.

I don't expect people to know every single firearm in existence, but I do expect people to know the differences between firearm types.

That and mostly cause I'm in police training atm.

Make a second character, and start again. If you have a second character at 120...delete it, start a new character and begin again.
