I'm also wondering, if it does come to MP, if it will have like a fuel gauge or something, and whenever it runs out you have to buy a new one. At that point, that would be the biggest d*ck move Rockstar could do in order to make us by cash cards.

 

I wondered the same thing, its probably going to be like fly for 10 sec than land, recharge go back up, I don't see it flying non stop especially when R* trying to make game as realistic as possible

I have a feeling that the jetpack will be fun, but Rockstar will do something to annoy people.

Like how they reintroduced the tank, but made it weak.

And with the jetpack, they'll do something like, if you spin too fast it blows up instaneously.

The whole Mt.Chiliad Mystery is bullsh*t. How can you solve something that isn't there? Did R* really make an elaborate trail of clues only to cut the path short and then add to that path with DLC later? That pisses me off. It's like they're trying to make this really hard to find mystery that's unsolvable until they add in the actual find. "Oh, we made this really tough code to crack and it took our players almost a year to find!". YEAH f*ck YOU.

Clearly you aren't aware that most of the cut content in games is what consitutes DLC. So yeah, they would ut things short, and add it later if it meant more money. You can't be this gullible to think it's all newly created content...

 

The clues aren't "hints" for future DLC, it's an actual path to follow. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if it was a side-quest.

Being condescending doesn't make you right. So are you happy this missing jetpack, the most popular and known GTA form of transportation, is teased to the point of having a f*cking drawing of the thing on the highest mountain in the game? Congrats to you, then. You're probably the type of guy that gets a paycheck containing monopoly money and you're all excited because the real money is coming later.

I can certainly confirm the authenticity, because as a modder of the previous games, I'm familiar with such representations.

 

In fact, TASK_JETPACK has existed since SA, however it wasn't removed in IV. R* re-use code a lot, but this time it's different. They've added code (CTaskMotionJetpack didn't exist before, but it follows R*'s internal naming format for the task system). Of course, I couldn't be 100% certain without seeing said "traces" in a fresh copy of the game myself, but the person who would be able to fake this would have to have more intelligence then the type of people who fake things usually do have, so I'm pretty sure.

 

But anyway, I figured something in the form of a jetpack would pop up eventually (probably as a god damn DLC). It's too tedious to have such a huge map without the ability to explore it by flying controllably and safely.

 

 

What has shocked me most, is how objectionable people have been behaving to the idea of one in the game. I mean, it's been like listening to people object against to the solution to a magic trick that they actually believe is magic... that's how stubborn people seem to be here. Yet, I see now valid reason why anyone would want something extra and not at all impeding on any other features not to be in any game, more so such a useful tool for a huge open-world...

Nop. This time it seems to be confirmed by multiple modding sources. It's 99% legit.

 

Yes, the 1% doubt, for me, comes from the very vague possibility of:

1. A person exists who is highly capable in the fields of 're-programming' (reverse engineering and reprogramming), yet only studies such a skill so they can fake the product of it.

2. That person copied and pasted similar output of something completely irrelevant but edited them all to contain the word jetpack. Yet, they posted the specific address it occurs at allowing those with the skill to look it up, meaning they'd get found out pretty quickly and effortlessly, which has yet to happen.

 

And the most plausible...

3. A person who wanted to fake the evidence went to all the effort of learning not just about modding, but reverse-engineering (and somehow knew what to find) in order to do so.

 

But I cannot stress how this isn't just like the modding most people are familiar with, but re-programming which is a highly advanced subject which barely anyone knows anything about. In fact, people here would be MORE convinced if they looked into the relevant parts of reverse-engineering themselves, not less. Every damn part of those screenshots of IDA output adds up in a way which would be very hard to fake.

in SA, R* clearly said that there's something in the woods. a creature in the forest. that was at 2004. did we find something?
