OVERALL RADIO EXPERIENCE GRADE: 59%

*ANNOYING TRACK AWARD
**ANNOYING RADIO STATION AWARD
MOST FAVORITE TRACK
MOST HATED TRACK

=====================================================================================

===================================================================================================

Result: I was curious how each station would score and what the overall score would be if I graded each track individually. Ironically, one of my least favorite genres ended up having the highest score. Of all the GTAs, I enjoyed the SA and VC radio stations the most -- SA being the favorite.

Scale: 7 is an average song. Greater than 7 are levels of enjoyment, less than 7 are levels of non-enjoyment. Annoyances are marked with an asterix.

Criteria/considerations: Try to be objective. After months of listening, how does the radio hold up? Maybe some songs were enjoyable at first but not so later or vice versa. What songs are more/less enjoyable for you? How well does a song fit the radio station and the atmosphere of the game? Consider each song on its own merit and compare it with others on the same station. If you don't like the genre, try to grade at least some tracks positively. If you do like the genre, did R* provide songs you feel adequately represent the genre? Remember to grade the song, not the artist. When looking at an artist, consider if a different song by them would have been preferred or if the track(s) chosen are ideal.

Math: Add the total possible points and the total points actually awarded, per station. Divide the awarded points by the possible points to get your percentage.

Instructions: Understand the above and try to grade the tracks/stations too. You can do one station, two stations, or all, whichever you feel like. :)

Warning: No quote trains. Comments are fine but flaming is not acceptable. Disagree with someone's results? --> Grade it yourself.

camby.pngTerrible list. You gave 2Pac's Ambitionz as a Ridah a 7/10pacspit.gif, Gangsta Gangsta a 7/10, You Know How We Do It A 4/10, Ali Bomaye a 1/10holeup.png, and ADHD a 4/10 but somehow you give the most overrated Dr. Dre song ever a 10/10. Your opinionated lists on the rap stations are just so terrible I can't help but say this is the most CAUCASIAN list I have ever graced upon in this forum, like really?!?! You gave Slow Down an 8/10rudy.png? That song is so corny. I swear I bet you think Eminem is better a rapper than Andre 3000. This list is the essence of garbage, like I know the Rap Stations aren't the greatest but these low scores compared to the higher ones are just so terrible. I know this is your opinion Op but I have never cringed so hard at just a list. Great job putting a country radio station with the highest score, really didn't expect that after reading the scores for West Coast Classics and Radio LS...beli.png Great opinion, Op.tocry.png

Nope, I put a lot of effort into grading the music that R* provided us in V. As I said, 58% is the total grade and I would have chosen a different soundtrack. ;)

Opinions are like assholes. Everyone has one, and everyone elses stinks.

You awarded some terrible songs 10/10 and some good songs 1/10.

You favorite song is terrible.

Obviously something based of your own tastes is not going to be anything like the general communities. Everyone voting would be a more accurate survey of the radio quality.

I don't agree with a number of your choices, but one that stand out is Ali Bomaye 1/10.

I think that song suits this game and city very well and is one of the better songs on Radio Los Santos list.

No way RLS is the 3rd worst station in the game.

I am a rock fan, but the rap in the game is better than the rock.

General Lee 9/10

Seriously that song is terrible.

No way Rebel Radio is the best station.

The selection of songs are too random and aren't evocative of any particular era. SA was the early 90's. VC was the 80's. GTA IV was largely modern. GTA V is "lol random whatevs".

Which makes it true to real life.

And I can't imagine what drove the OP to waste his time to do such a useless list.

That list is all wrong! You gave Twin Shadow a 3?? and the best rap songs you gave low scores?? Its nice to see your opinion but i don't agree with it at all :/

Op I cannot believe you gave 'Change of Coast' a 5 out of 10...a track that is so evocative of 80's music, a feeling that is not just based on nostalgia of a Vice City sound but a theme of love for 80's music in general that we often get a taste of in Rockstar soundtracks and which was aptly applied to a setting such as Los Santos with its warm climate, palm trees and beaches (a happy fun song for a fun place)....Listening to 'Change of Coast' puts me in a good mood and now Op I'm in a bad one :( I'm truly hurt by this. Moreover you give Psychic city a 9/10... I like all the tracks on RMP but really OP? Well I guess it's your opinion love.

Agree with the list, Rebel Radio is by far the best (And BCR). All the other stations pale in comparison to IV's. (And IV's stations sucked serious ass)

V's makes the most sense then.

Modern radio in real life plays songs from every era, depending on the station of course.

I know that it was good in SA and VC to have songs from that era, but in modern game it would be boring if it was only brand new stuff.

your music taste is absolutely awful. you like all the awful songs in V and give the few good songs 2/10s.

i want to lock you in a tiny room and make you listen to "you're the one for me" over and over. it's one of the very few good songs in V and you hate it? get out of here.

It would take far too long to analyse and rank all the songs according to the context of them being in GTA V. Suffice it to say the radio has alot more misses than hits.

Most of you missed the point of the thread. I don't give a crap whether you agree or not - not even a little bit. ;)

Get to work. You are supposed to grade the radio experience according to YOUR preferences. Do each track or summarize - whichever you prefer. That is the actual point of this thread.

If people missed the point of the thread, that isn't their fault, your OP was a massive amount of data that reflected nothing more than your opinion.

Everybody knows what they, themselves like and everyone's opinions differ. This topic has been discussed countless times and is usually based on a simple 'what is your favourite track?' concept that everyone can join in.

You are asking us to either grade the whole playlist or do what has been done many times before?

Don't be silly.

Cutter De Blanc

Interestingly, if 7/10 is average on OP's scale, only three of the radio stations (and both talk stations) are above average in his estimation

How can you give MC Eight's Straight up Menace a 6? It's one of the best hip hop songs of all time. Also My War by Black Flag is one the best punk songs. Even people who hate V's sountrack like Change of Coast as well.

I bothered to poll quite a few people on it and the results were very similar to my own. This thread was posted in case anyone here wanted to participate. Sure, I'm interested in your prefs - but no, not your insults. Judging a person's musical tastes based on what they did or didn't enjoy in a GTA is just absurd, lol.

People actually like redneck radio? I thought everyone hated it.

Best - worst radio stations

  1. West Coast Classics
  2. FlyLo FM
  3. Radio Los Santos

Bottom 3

  1. Soulwax FM
  2. Rebel Radio
  3. East Los FM

Worst radio stations in the game. Expecially East Los FM. How do you have a mexican radio station, but no Cypress Hill?

To me West coast Classics is the best but in terms of originality and Classic Hits it gets a 5/10 there isn't even one Eazy E song (an NWA song doesn't count), There is only one Tupac song, only One Ice Cube song which for some stupid reason you gave a 4/10 (you clearly have a good taste in music (Sarcasm Overuse)).

Gods sake there is more Dre than Tupac JackieChanAnger.jpg

All in all I think there could be massive improvements with a music update or add-on.

Nope, I put a lot of effort into grading the music that R* provided us in V. As I said, 58% is the total grade and I would have chosen a different soundtrack. ;)

You gave You Know How We Do It a 4/10, You put NO effort in at all!!!

The sad part about reading this thread is that Rebel Radio is also my favorite station (I am a sucker for classic outlaw country), with Soulwax FM and Los Santos Rock Radio coming in a close second and third. But I also liked the rap stations too, although I'm not much of a rap fan, there's some quality stuff there, despite what the OP may say.

The only two stations I did not like at all whatsoever were Channel X (can't stand punk rock, personally) and Non-Stop Pop FM (It didn't make sense. It's modeled after a modern Top 40 pop station, but also has a lot of 80's and 90's songs that would never get airtime on a modern pop station.)

For me, V's radio was just a lot of misses. I enjoyed SA's rap and rock stations far more. :/ I just clarified the OP, for those needing clarification apparently.

Spaghetti Cat

Really?? You're gonna give Ice Cube a 4/10 and Lee 'Scratch' Perry a 3/10, while giving Don Frecking Johnson a 9/10?

While V might not have the best soundtrack, I would not want OP anywhere near the next soundtrack. This is just whack!

Slow. The tracks are compared to others of the same station - not compared to tracks of different stations.

Non-Stop Pop is the best station, I listen to it all the time!! After that it's East Los and East Coast Classics... I think GTA V's stations were really good and fit the climate of the game.
