So I started out doing sequels to my favourite r* created jobs but I think I've exhausted that idea.

Now I'm working on cc's based on movies. This is my first go based on the classic Smokey and the Bandit (yes I'm an old man)

Its a 4 star wanted lap race that jumps in and out of the military base. I struggled a bit because inside the base is restricted for checkpoints/props etc.

I managed to find a small corner inside zancudo that was unrestricted and managed to squeeze a ramp and a checkpoint.

Please check it out and let me know if there are any ways it can be improved.

Link: Smokey and the Bandit ps3 http://rsg.ms/RvhrJ5

Also have any of you made any movie races/content?

I made a point to point race ages ago called 'Better Call Saul' (breaking bad) but has no real references apart from the title and description - 'Your package has landed and you have various drop offs on the way downtown where a new lawyer in town with more money than sense is willing to pay well over the odds for what you got, the quicker you get to him the more he will pay. Don't let the dollar signs or views take your eye off the tarmac in this testing sprint too a big payday, one day you might need him so keep him sweet. Clocks ticking.....'

ive seen a few breaking bad and no country for old men deathmatches made from those.

i tried making a deathmatch based on the robbery scene from the movie Heat, but it sucked.

Not a movie but TV show...unfortunately there simply isnt a good pond to jump over in Grapeseed, so the hangar and drainage ditch will have to do.

Definitely checking that out OP, that's a classic. Bookmarking this topic too. I love it when someone has a theme to their creation.

With the actor addition including clowns, I couldn't help but make a few Akira inspired jobs. A couple are actually pretty good:

Battle Against the Clowns

http://rsg.ms/RjACFE

1_0.jpg

You have to get bags off armed&drugged bike mounted clowns in the downtown area with all the skyscrapers.

Then there's a concluding one that isn't as Akira themed but quite fun:

Rendin' the Clowns

http://rsg.ms/RAh3ZZ

My most popular creation isn't based on a movie but a song by Tom Waits called

Heartattack and Vine

http://rsg.ms/1hSpEfY

The song is about a hotel he lived at for a while (on the corner of Hollywood & Vine in LA) and which R* recreated in LS. I think people like it because it's a well balanced place to have a TDM.

Not a movie but a tv show, Gladiators.

Title: Gladiators GTA

Description:Based on the TV Show! Fight your way to the top of the pyramid, jump the gap and collect the packages. Simple right?

Looks like fun. I'll be bookmarking that one for later. You should play my Smokey and the Bandit race and make a video :) its quite similar.

Movies/Shows I would like to do jobs about:

Repo Man: now that we got captures, I'm working on this but still plotting it out. They have some settings that really work.

Also plotting out a Big Lebowski Capture.

Arrested Development; we got the suburban homes being built but that's the only thing that reminds me of the show.

Ford Fairlane: something involving the Capitol Records building "It's all scratched up!"

NatLampoon's Vacation: I actually put down the first couple of checkpoints for "Holiday Road": a race starting at the suburbs, going up through the hillbilly area, a big jump in the desert, then down to Del PerPier. Then I stopped for 2 reasons.

1. I don't actually like long races myself, how could I make a good one?

2. We can't race the Regina, which is the car that looks like the Family Truckster.

Sounds awesome. I'm a big Tom Waits fan.

Me too. I actually went a little nuts with the Tom Waits inspired jobs for a bit He wrote so many songs about LA, and parts of it that we see recreated in LS. There are a few people seem to like.

Underground

http://rsg.ms/PFYpPg

A TDM (but I'm going to switch it to DM as default) in the construction tunnels.

Tom Traubert's Blues

http://rsg.ms/PG1UW5

A TDM on Skid Row. It's another well balanced (but narrow) area that forces a lot of conflict but long and cluttered enough to prevent spawnkills.

Burma Shave

http://rsg.ms/QeMl7Y

A muscle car GTA race around some of my favorite billboards in the game.

I made one for Romeo is Bleeding but I haven't tried it with anyone yet.

I also made a couple of jobs inspired by Arlo Guthrie's Coming into Los Angeles, but they need work.

I like the akira one. Mine was based on need for speed or fast & furious.
Same old, but the twist with mine is that its capture mode.

And if you die you come back as a cop.

See my post here: http://gtaforums.com/topic/702922-ps3-first-race-type-capture-the-run/

That's some proper karmic reincarnation for the GTA world. I'll have to check them out.

Thanks, there were clowns I could arm and put on bikes, how could I resist?

I tried this one (full wanted levels) and it really is lots of fun.

Just one thing: you may want to place the checkpoint inside the base a little farther away from the ramp. I had to respawn, respawned on the ramp, had to back up while military jeeps are careening towards me.

Thanks. I'll have another look at it. The trouble I had is that one small corner is the only unrestricted area I could find in the base but I'll see what I can do.

Edit: I've managed to move the cp back a little bit so you'll spawn on the flat just in front of the ramp. I've also managed to stack a couple of boosts so you shouldn't have to use the run up anymore to get over the fence.

Cool. The boosts should do it. I always got stars anyway. I look forward to playing it again. One friend of mine in particular will love it on so many levels.

So I saw a vid on how to glitch into the fib building but it's the one from the GTAV mission where it's all blown up. As I had been thinking of this thread, I was inspired to put aside the other jobs in my save folder and work on one based on one of my favorite Christmas movies. I give you:

Die Hard

http://rsg.ms/1mEhgFy

It's German for "The Hard."

A very narrow DM with lots of corners, corridors, stairs, and explosives. There were a couple of glitchy spawn points but I think I got rid of them all.

And added.

Is the T2 job only on 360? Those ducts are perfect for a recreation of that scene.

Anyone here remember Junkyard Wars; in the UK it was called Scrapyard Challenge? It was a challenge show where two teams rooted through a junkyard to collect parts for a specific machine the hosts set them to build. For some reason it was usually a machine designed to launch pumpkins very far. But anyway, I was a big fan and was also reminded of the show while playing the Boneyard Survival match.

Junkyard Wars (Capture-Contend ps3)

You have to run in the junkyard to collect packages. Watch out for weirdos from the other team and the two hosts. It's actually the perfect spot for a capture job: choke points, cover, a good central building to split the HQs.

Edit:

Not one of mine but I came across another one for this thread:

Falling Down

It should be good on one of those days where you think you're going to snap.

I'll have to check those. I know they'll be good. Did you know the car the girls were after in Death proof was the car from a movie called Vanishing Point? I've just made a race based on Vanishing Point http://rsg.ms/SiH0NV check it out.

Play it as a GTA race and leave wanted levels on for more fun. This is a new race so is still beta version so I'd appreciate some help.

I've recently perfected one of my personal favourite creations, based off the hit Canadian TV series 'Trailer Park Boys'

http://gtaforums.com/topic/705859-raid-trailer-park-toys-based-off-the-hit-series-trailer-park-boys/

1_0.jpg

Based around two opposing trailer parks, seperated by the sand-dunes of the Grand Senora Desert, this Raid Capture mode is fast-paced, intense, and hilarious, just like show it's based on! Apply your best Rickyisms, be fearless like Bubbles, and defend your trailer park like Lahey! My friends and I play this a lot and we have a ton of fun even just 2v2, but with a full lobby of 6v6 it's just that much more of a blast!

Please play, rate, and share! Bookmark for quick access if you really enjoyed it!

Vanishing Point is a lot of fun. What other areas on the map cause instant wanted levels when just driving through? There's the prison; making a ramp out would be a [email protected]#.

Looking forward to trying Death Proof. I'm a big fan of Tarantino and I have a feeling the guys at R* are as well. Kurt Russel is cool too. I'll tell you one thing; if they ever add San Fierro to GTAO, I'm definitely paying tribute to Big Trouble in Little China.

My uncle keeps telling me to watch Trailer Park Boys. Looks nuts.

Umm, the characters only said the car is the "Vanishing Point Challenger" like 20 times, so if it was some secret to you then maybe you should watch your movies with audio turned on :)

Tried to make a GTA capture the first week to be Vanishing point, but since there is no one-way capture possible, then apart from using 1 white gauntlet, the capture would be nothing like the movie.

Hobos with Shotguns

-It is a work in progress, hoping for respawn point placement in future updates as well as forced weapons in order to make this capture play out properly, but you get the idea and it can be fun if you play with friends and agree not to use explosives beforehand. Suitable for small rooms (2v2 or 3v3)

Hobos with Shotguns was a lot of fun and the title got some chuckles from the lobby. I like what you did with Skid Row. But until R* fixes their objective respawn problem, you may want to lower the amount of objectives needed.

Also, I couldn't help but notice that the description had a bit of a political commentary? I thought you said we should keep that out of the game.

Death Proof is also a lot of fun. There aren't enough good muscle car races. I was actually expecting it to be a bit farther north but the course you chose was very cool. An area I haven't really driven around in too much.

Like I said, work in progress....

It's only published in anticipation (wishful maybe) that we will get the needed changes to the creator: player max/min, forced/forced+pickup weapons, respawn points.

I only list it here because it is in keeping with the topic and can still play well if played among friends with agreed terms currently out of control of the creator.

The capture is not intended to be finished by reaching the maximum score of 8. I'm not going to lower the requirement from 8 to 3 just because the game is broken. That would completely change the nature of the capture.

What politics are included in the description? All I see is the mocking of today's nonsense aka SATIRE. Pretty much inline with the rest of the game's content, again you seem to fail to understand the difference between satire and political commentary. You probably think South Park is "political". It isn't, it is satire. Satire can draw from any number of sources but satire doesnt become political because it satires political language any more than it becomes scientific when it satires scientific language..

Most people say "appreciate the feedback" but I'm not going to because

  • I didn't ask for your feedback, nor did the OP ask for people to submit their content for review/critique
  • WORK IN PROGRESS should be clear enough

Glad to hear you kind of enjoyed it though. I can assure you it will be a finished product if and when we get the needed changes to the creator so our captures aren't gimped before we even create them.
