I think also the amount of people offering me a 1v1 on the beach, is high. And the fact if they come to me and start shoot, I defend myself by shooting back, but as soon as youre about to kill them, they suicide. Because their KD is more important than a fair game these days. Then they kill you by going ghost or out of passive, then run off and write you "Lzzzz noob". I think they are called tryhards lol.

 

If I dont response on the message, they keep spam me, and i manage to answer back that its a game, i dont take it too seriously.

I declined and yup, he shut it off. Only took a router reset to fix it but that was pretty unnerving for a few minutes.

something similar happened to me a year ago, I won a free-for-all deathmatch and loaded into a session and got a message from a French girl gamer who demanded that I 1v1 her, if i didn't she would have me killed instead of shutting my internet off but I told her to f*ck off and after several minutes of arguing she finally snapped and told me that I was gonna die and said bye to me. After 1 minute i get a message from one of her friends exactly saying "you're a deadman! March 28 you die!" along with a picture showing a guy slicing a mans throat and by then I was getting bombarded with death threats from her other friends and i blocked all of them shortly after. I was left a bit shaken up from this sh*t.

I guess for me.. Being an old skool type of person with an old skool mentality. Nothing really shocks me.. nothing really scares me.

 

To me.. Death threats online of any kind are joke.. I've been in tons of real life fights in my life.. And I know how to fight. I've taken my beatings and given even more. So whats the worst they can do? I've fought raging steriod cases..so some raging asshole on a video game is a joke.

 

My reply is always the same.. If you actually find my. Il whip your f*ckin ass.. Plain and simple.

 

People tend to hate it when i laugh at them for real life threats. But its not my fault there so funny.. Hahaha

@ Municipal_Police... The lengths some go to in order to cause stress or discomfort, virtual or real is quite shocking.

 

Having had a similar thing happen to me, I never realised a game can cause such issues, I was clean caught off guard, and I fully accept I handled it wrong, but it cannot excuse some behaviour, certainly gave me a wake up call as to avoid this repeating itself...

 

Hopefully for you, me or anyone else, it doesn't go to far... Banter is one thing...

 

Having read some real bad things in this topic really does make me mad at some of the nastiness that can exist.

 

It may happen elsewhere, as I'm very sceptical of online gaming now, but I have never seen this much bad from 1 game alone... A real shame... Peace.

You know, Ot can be tricky to know the best reaction is all.

Municipal_Police, it's highly likely that they're doing something illegal by threatening you. If there is any way whatsoever for you to find out who any of those persons are IRL, you can go to the police with that. Since they're probably just angry kids (it is so easy to threaten someone over the internet, after all) who would never dare try anything, they might end up thinking twice before spouting crap like that online.

 

That is, if your local police department takes death threats seriously. Being harassed by multiple persons and having (fake or not) graphic violent imagery being sent to you is not acceptable in any way.

 

If you're thinking that you shouldn't bother because you're not worried or scared, fine. But please consider the possibility that them suffering real life consequences could go a long way to helping them change their extremely antisocial behaviour. Basically, if they tend to do that more often - scaring people or even making them fear for their lives - and noone ever corrects them, they'll keep on doing it. More often than not all it takes is one visit from a police officer to make them realise they crossed a line.

 

EDIT: That was assuming they're in your country, if instead they're all in france it might be more difficult. But I don't see it being impossible for law enforcement to communicate, so.. give it a try maybe.
