In-game sounds cause the freezes I think

Might sound dumb but everytime I'm in free-roam and I encounter a loud sound or a different sound that seems to be when the freeze happens.

Can be anything from an exhaust backfiring to machinery by one of the scrapyards, gunfire. Perhaps I'm way off the mark but that's what I am beginning to assume - it's the sudden loud/new sounds in the game causing the freezes.

no it has already been found out by rockstar, that host migrations are the cause of the freeze.

in a game full of loud unexpected loud noises, this would definitely be a bad thing. but i do not think this is what causes it. since noises are constantly happening its just coincidental timing that freezing happens when you think you are hearing a certain sound probably

I just froze sniping some guy an as soon as I come out of scope whoop xbox freezes.

When i came out of the shop when some asshat tried to kill me. i went straight to passive mode and when i came out i froze. i still heard the music playing till it ended and didn't hear it again but i was still hearing the start of the guys engine when i went outside. maybe thats what froze me. Sound issue.

I actually think you have the right idea. It has something to do with sound changed or added in the last patch. Every single time I have frozen there has been some noticeable and loud sound bite that occurs the moment of the freeze. Whether it be an engine backfire during a race, explosion from sticky, tank or RPG, pedestrian yelling in my ear, it always seems to be something sudden. I have had freeze happen in pub session, private session, deathmatch, race, playlist, apartment everywhere. Last one I was in a private session standing still on a street corner digging through a playlist menu. Some NPC standing very close just began to say a word...all I heard was "O" and instant freeze.

I find it especially prevalent when your hosts farts loudly into their mic.

 

Thankfully, a clean reboot sorts it out.

What do you expect? Silence when it freezes? There are sounds everywhere! I freezed when entering that armored truck, maybe the door noise caused the freeze? I freezed while blowing up a car with a grenade launcher, maybe the explosion sound caused the freeze? I freezed while standing still on Chiliad. Maybe the windy noises caused the freeze?

I read this earlier and thought "nah no way"

 

Now that im playing it, i sent an airstrike on sum1 as i was nearby. So obv loads of explosions/sounds and game freezes. So maybe ur right. Dunno

You know, had you not said freezed like a dozen times I might have been able to take this as a serious point to debate.

 

When I spoke of the sounds they were each very specific, unnaturally loud and timed perfectly with the freeze. They were not your average normal ambiance.

Freezes are pretty rare for me. My own theory is it's due to my memory being near empty. 4GB Xbox plus a 320GB hard-drive. Probably only using about 9GB.
