I found out why crates don't usually drop anymore

Like usual I carry on with my own business and saw a crate drop inbound so I waited for it to drop, mind you I waited 5 or so minutes so I proceed in I noticed the arms dealers were already dead

 

 

 

Then I drove over to the flare that signals the crate and my framerates plummeted every red dot you see is a new flare:

So perhaps all of the flares lighting up at once cause so much lag that the crate just doesn't drop.

There's a bug which causes the crates to not drop when someone goes into the drop area before the crate actually drops. It's been about for as long as I can remember.

But thats not the complete reason why they don't drop as even with one flair, they still don't drop

Along with all the other glitches that they took out and have just resurfaced again.

I've encountered a couple of random drops since 1.12.

 

However, only one actually dropped. I've seen probably 3-4 that were highlited, even with no one even close to the green circle and it still didn't drop...

 

Hope its straightened out in the next patch.

in private lobbis there wasnt any drop since 3 months for me.

I've been frustrated about not getting crate drops in private/crew/solo lobbies since the crates

not dropping issue first surfaced. I read somewhere it might be a glitch affecting created characters

so am currently testing this out with my third character on a different PSN ID to see if that is the

case and will probably have my solution ignored by R*.

 

My personal two cents worth is that at some point R* wanted the crates to only drop in public lobbies

rather than private sessions but mucked up somehow in implementing it as for me I get crates in public

sessions now but no armoured cars and in crew/friend/private sessions I get infinite armoured cars and

no crates...

I picked up a crate yesterday (was the only one who was interested in getting it), but I don't see them nearly as often. They should either make them a little more frequent or drastically increase the contents, because they're a lot more difficult to get (in some places) than armored trucks if the arms smugglers are there. I don't think $10-15k, at least 500 RP and nothing but a minigun is ridiculous. Make people want to chase them again.

I got a crate drop just last night

Last night I saw a notification where a crate drop was about to happen, two minutes later, it dropped. I was about to get it but disappeared. Arms smugglers didn't pick it up nor did another player pick it up because if those two happened, I'd get a notification. It was weird.

They don't drop anymore because they were too awesome so they weren't making any cash card sales because of it.

We had two drop in the last week only, one had a minigun, the other never dropped. There was a massive shootout with elite players around the flares and I got owned for about an hour lol. Still never dropped.
