KallusRourke
Two times now while playing, a vehicle I was driving have despawned. The most recent time I was driving the big Tow Truck, and had just unhooked a car. Got out of the car and parked it only a few feet away, tow truck was still there. Walked over to some guys standing close by, got them to walk away, and turned back around to find it despawned. Has something changed with the despawn rate of vehicles? This never happened before. Alex Wesker
I haven't noticed this. But it could be a bug from the latest update.
Ava_Adore
I noticed this too. I was following a cop car yesterday, I looked away and when I looked back he had disappeared
Cutter De Blanc
It was because you switched cars. The game only keeps the last car you drove in it's memory for awhile. By getting out of the Tow Truck and into the unhooked car you changed it. It's a bit ridiculous that you can practically spin the camera around and the second to last car you drove will vanish like a donut at a fat camp though. I was spawning a bunch of Rapid GT's everywhere yesterday, but after three if I wandered away a few feet some would disappear. It's always been this way, as far as I know. GTA V seems to really struggle in the memory department, compared to all the others. Edited April 17, 2014 by Cutter De Blanc
Andreas
This issue has been part of every GTA, and it's caused by the RAM and VRAM limitations of the consoles. There are ways to make it occur a little less, but whether it's implemented in the game is dependent on the developer and presumably on the game engine and the game itself. Cutter De Blanc
This game seems to be way worse with it than in previous GTA's. I have to assume it's due to all the moving parts. The game is constantly deleting things it considers unessential, such as the ambient radio music when you leave your engine running.
Andreas
It's most likely because the game has a lot more detail than its predecessors and then there is the large gameworld and the massive draw distance. Basically, the game has to load more models and textures at the same time due to the massively improved draw distance, and there is less room for loading dynamic objects because of it. Rockstar did a good job with optimizing the engine so much in that regard but something has to suffer in the end, which would be the spawning of the vehicles in this case.
