The most realistic thing you'd get to drifting in this game is: Coil + rain.

No, futo + rain.

There ain't no such thing as drifting in this game.. And oh I have tried.. The Futo is the only one that gets close to drifting by playing with the handbrake, keeping the rpm up, and tapping the brake, but even that usually only works when it's raining. If you shoot out all four tires of the cars tho, THAT is alot of fun

you're telling people the best cars to use if your experienced, and a beginner..You're telling people how to properly drift, you're telling people the best spots to drift.... seems perfect for that section

Just because you can't drift doesn't make it impossible to drift on this game.

If your tires are constantly spinning while you're oversteering, that's drifting.

Powersliding is just oversteering with an e brake, no throttle.

power sliding is what some people do to initiate a drift

If they never made F&F Tokyo Drift, these kids would have no idea what drifting is

I saw Tokyo Drift when I was a kid, yet I knew what it was before I saw it.

Also you say it like it's a bad thing?

He just showed a video of a guy drifting, I kinda agree with you, but if you know what you're doing you can drift.

Just like in that game, it didn't look or feel anything like drifting.. At least, that's what I thought. Try drifting in Forza or Gran Turismo, I actually have drifted in real life and both of these games don't do it justice, this is why I hope they come out with a "drift pack" or drift setting for us drifters. I guess they'll eventually won't because we don't nag as much and loud as most of the other kids demanding sh*t for this game, such a shame

try live for speed on PC, most realistic sim.

forza 4 . Between realistic and normal steering is real, never played gran turismo but i heard GT6 is the most realistic

Like I said, the Futo comes close to it, but it's practically impossible because it shifts up at the wrong times and you mostly only get wheel spin in the first gear which sucks. It becomes more like sliding than drifting.

Yes I have tried LFS, it's really good. More realistic than Gran Turismo or Forza. GT6, is allright when it comes to realism, the rest of the game just hasn't changed over the last 15 years so it gets boring quickly haha

Try out the banshee with similar techniques... you can spin the tires for sure in 2nd gear... maybe even 3rd. i feel like it may have happened. i know i have redlined in every gear except top, when i downshift. and at this point i can BASICALLY do it whenever i want, so i can keep it from upshifting in silly positions.

dude, YOU need to relax. you dont intend on contributing at all to the thread and you are just being a format Nazi. we are discussing experiences, as well as arguing the possibilities of proper drifting... Yes, we may discuss techniques, but go read the OP. its more of an over arching discussion.

This thread belongs in the strategies sub-forum. This thread IS LITERALLY INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO POWERSLIDE DRIFT(if that's what you think is drifting.). Don't act like a child b/c someone else is suggesting that a MOD put this where it belongs.

I saw Tokyo Drift when I was a kid, yet I knew what it was before I saw it.

That movie isn't even 10 years old, yet you say you saw it when you were a kid, which obviously wasn't long ago, at all.

EDIT* OP, you said to do a "lowering glitch" to be able to drift, right? May as well do the slippery traction glitch as well, eh? Why don't you explain to us how to do the "lowering glitch", if it's so integral to your POWERSLIDING 'drifting'?

Isn't drifting basically a controlled slide?

Yes, a CONTROLLED slide yes.

Again, like I said before, it's just sliding.

he's controlling it with the throttle, notice how the wheels are spinning, the wheels wouldn't be spinning if he was sliding

aye ^^ drifting is what you want to do AFTER your powerslide.

you powerslide sideways to set up your drift, get the wheels pointing right (relative to your car) on a LEFT handed drift, then I personally downshift and get those tires spinning and accelerate out of the turn.

A car is drifting when the rear slip angle is greater than the front slip angle, to such an extent that often the front wheels are pointing in the opposite direction to the turn (e.g. car is turning left, wheels are pointed right or vice versa, also known as opposite lock).

personally the FUTO DRIFT MONTAGE video sucks, the guy who made it could've done better, but remember i was only showing an example

i wish i never threw away my rough draft of a SOLO DRIFT MONTAGE, i had it edited, synced, some sick lines with the schwartzer and futo on the hills

i was really hoping to make an intense drift montage with all my friends, the community, tandems, suicides, good 3rd person camera angles, in board from passenger seat cameras, and hood cams, but none of my good drift friends get on anymore, hopefully when this game kicks off again with a nice Tuner DLC :D + it'll add more variety to the cars

Ballistic Jello

Try the Super Diamond, fully modded. Mine's got SUV wheels and lights the tires pretty easily. I've drifted it around the Weasel courtyard a couple times.

Pimping and drifting simultaneously.

The Alpha is decent, I tried slamming it to see if it would help, but it ended up giving the car more traction and stable. Almost like a Schafter

Could someone give me a few tips and pointers to drifting the Sentinel XS, I've been practicing with it but I cant seem to keep the traction from grabbing the road half way through the drift causing me to shoot forward instead of follow through the turn. Or maby I just suck at drifting with the Sentinel XS lol

try doing the lowering glitch on the car,

drop it 2x

Never mind.... I'm out this silly thread. Great for beginners and those who have no car knowledge. Thumbs up for helping noobs.
